Landon Pasqual Tarin was born June 20th, 2008 at 6:26 pm by emergency C-section. He was exactly a month early. Soon after he was born he was taken to the NICU for respiratory distress and an air leak from his lung because he was so premature. They sedated him for 4 days until the air leak cleared itself up. Within the 4 days he still was breathing too hard, so, his two last days of being sedated they put him on the ventilator. After the 4 days they let him wake up but still wouldn't feed him actual food for 2 days. They fed him just the nutrients to stay alive through the tube going into his tummy in the umbilical cord. On June 26th.. they let him take his first drink of breast milk and he downed it.. =) At first they only gave him about a 1/3 of an ounce and he wasn't happy at all.. but they kept increasing it every 8 hours by 4 mL's.... finally he got up to 2 ounces and he got the tubes taken out of his tummy and on July 1st he got to go home.. I had Landon home by 10:30 am on the 1st of july and that was the second happiest day of my life.. the first being the day he was born.. =) Landon could sleep all the way through the night if i'd let him.. but i have to wake him up to feed him so he gains more and more weight. My boyfriend, Marcus, and I are the luckiest people alive to have such a sweetheart for a son.. him and I went through a lot just to get him here but it was well worth it and i'd do it again.. even the 72 hours in a hospital bed with a catheder in and a blood pressure cuff taking my bloodpressure every 10 minutes.. and all the poking and poding they had to do to me to make sure I didn't die.. *yikes* Anyways.. he and I are happy and healthy and i can proudly say i've lost 40 lbs since he's been born.. YAY!!

Well Landon is a month and a half old.. and he's a dream. I had gallbladder surgury yesterday and i'm in pain and he's being so good while daddy is at work. He's watching TV right now which is kinda cute.. He's already out of newborn diapers and into 1's. Since he was a premie i thought he wouldn't be out of them until he was about 3 months old.. fooled me! He's about 10 lbs already too.. He's gaining like CRAZY.. he also is already eating 4-6 oz. at a time.. WOW.. i think he wants to be a BIG boy.. haha he's cooing and smiling and laughing at me and it bring tears to my eyes.. it's hard to think i'll be 22 on sunday the 10th and he's made me grow up so tremendously much. I went back to work about 3 weeks after i had him because money is short.. It sucks having marcus still in school.. we aren't going to see eachother much at all.. but it's working out afterall.. i though marcus and i would argue all the time also from being tired we just switch off taking naps and we're pretty much happy all the time :) Whoever said being a young mom is bad.. was totally wrong i'd rather be young and he able to keep up with my kids than be old and tired all the time!!!! AMEN!
congrats! beautiful baby xxxx
