Well my name is Jessica i am 21 years old and have been married just over a year to my wonderful gorgeous hubby, who i met while serving in the canadian forces. Shortly after our wedding we were posted to manitoba, i left the military and started trying to conceive right away. i am now pregnant and due Febuary 2008 this will be our first child and we couldnt be more happy. Steve and I cant wait to meet our little boy Ryerson. Although living so far away from family and friends during this time is difficult we look forward to and welcome the challenge :)

Wow! Yes it has been a long time since we talked! I have been so busy since I have gone back to work. I barely have time to check my email at work much less get on here! Madison keeps me busy thats for sure!!!!
She is growing like a weed! She weighs 13pds right now. She was 5 months old on June 21. I just cant believe how fast the time has flown by! She started rolling over right around the 4th month and now does it all the time. She lays on her belly and wiggles like she is trying to crawl. She scoots around in a circle but thats about it. She always wants to stand on her legs and hates to sit these days.
Yes she still has the acid reflux but I guess it has gotten a little better than it was the first few months. She still takes meds.
I just love being a mom so much! She is all smiles and laughs these days. Its so much fun watching her grow and taking in everything!!!!!!
Sounds like Ry is doing well and growing fast too! I am sorry that your hubby is away until November. My husband was in Iraq for a year before we had Madison. I hated it!!! So I know how you feel, but at least he will be home on the weekends!
Okay...time for me to get in bed while Miss Madison is sleeping! Good to hear from you!!!!!

Hi Jes, did Ryerson have a cold too? Me and Caden are both sick and he is waking so much in the night! It's hard! Last night he woke up 7 times between 1am and 9am. I hope it's bcos of the cold bcos at least that means when he feels better he'll sleep longer!

Hi Jes, you should come and visit Msia one of these days, with your family. There are a lot of changes.
Are you expecting too? I am due in July, but going for a c-section end of June. Hope things will be OK. Since you were here before, you must know that we are really into traditional body massage immediately after delivering, even if it is a C-section. It helps a lot at the tummy part.
My husband will be attach to the ship in mid July. I hope baby Kyraa will be close to her dad just like Edie (my first born who is 17 mths old).

karenc - Tuesday, 20 May
can you imagine how hellish cloth diapers would be? lol, nooo!

karenc - Monday, 19 May
this may be a dumb question, but do you change your baby after his 10:30 pm feeding? b/c if not maybe he'd last thru til the morning. also, is ryerson wearing size 1 diapers? we just started using size 2 diapers and, while they're definitely full in the morning, they seem to be holding a lot more than the size 1's did in the last weeks we were using them. like last night, beckett was in bed at 8:30 pm and didn't get up til 5:30 am and, after i fed him, he pooped HUGELY, but everything stayed in the diaper. if he'd pooped into an all nighter size 1 diaper, it would have been m e s s y. :)

Hey There, I saw your comment about the trip you're about to make with your baby. It will probably be easier than you expect. I drove accross Canada the other way (from northern Ontario to Alberta) when my son was 3 months old, and it wasn't that bad at all. He was great and just wanted to eat every 3 hours...I was formula feeding him at that time and I just kept the water in the car and had the powdered formula and would just shake up a bottle as he needed. We stopped driving by 6pm most nights so he could have a bath and relax and cuddle.

Good Luck!!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

CrazyEights - Sunday, 11 May
It's actually not so bad. We made the drive from Chicago, Illinois to Atlanta, Georgia with our son when he was just about 3 months old. He pretty much slept the whole way. I know it's not 3 days but 3 months old is actually better than if he were any older. Good luck:)

firefly5678 - Saturday, 10 May
I guess with the breastfeeding it all depends on the baby. I kind of got lost in the feeding times cause he likes to fall asleep while breastfeeding. Funny enough he still sucks, but after a while there's no more milk in that breast and it can be hard to switch to the other breast at that time.

preciousbabybump - Thursday, 8 May
Congrats your son is sooo cute!!!! Plus he was born the same day my oldest daughter was!!!

joannemichelle - Wednesday, 7 May
Wow! I hope I'm that fortunate! I think I will probably gain between 30 and 35 pounds (I have gained 20 already at 24 weeks), but I hope to get rid of it fast :)

Hey Girl!
Things are going well! Just really busy since I went back to work. We are finally adjusting though. Madison is getting so big! She was 11pds at the doctor last week! She's all smiles and coo's these days, occassionally we get a laugh out of her too...its so cute...I JUST LOVE IT!
Wow...a 3 day drive with a baby? Yikes! That's gonna be tough I bet! We are going to Richmond on Saturday to see my family and its only 2 hours away...I am nervous about that!
Maddi is sleeping pretty good these days. She's usually in bed at 9:30am and sometimes she sleeps until 6 or 7am. The past few days she has been waking between 4 and 5am though. Not too bad. Sounds like they are doing about the same!
I also bought one of those seats...well we bought the Bebe Pod and yes they are expensive....but Madison really likes it. She's trying to sit up, but still a little small. I am going to try to upload some picts this week to the webpage!
Hope you are doing well! THanks for the update! Keep in touch! I hope your drive goes well!
