We were blessed with a little girl on May 19, 2008 who is now an active toddler. We just found out (Oct. 7) that I am pregnant with Number 2! Although this pregnancy was unexpected and our heads are reeling a bit with the thought of coping with pregnancy and a newborn while caring for a toddler, we are thrilled! I had a chemical pregnancy in July 2007 (got pregnant with my daughter early September 2007) so I am holding my breath for this pregnancy. AF is due on Monday the 12th so we will see if the little bean sticks. My BFPs are pretty dark and I have been having a lot of symptoms so far so I am hoping that is a good sign! This website was a great resource during my first pregnancy so I am happy to be back again.

Tomorrow morning is my scheduled induction! There is a possibility it may be delayed if a huge number of women go into labor tonight! I hope not cause that would be a big disappointment to have to sit around and wait for a room to become available, but we will see. At least the end is in sight.

Hubby is super-excited about tomorrow. I still feel like it is so far away, guess I have not really comprehended that I will most likely be going into labor tomorrow morning. At the moment I am so uncomfortable - my feet are swollen and painful, my knuckles hurt from my hands swelling up, my right hip does not seem to be connected to my thigh bone any more so I waddle AND limp. My thighs and lower abdomen are so sore it hurts to be upright. When I lay down though I get some sort of reflux which makes me feel like I will vomit and any moment. I think all these things, which lead to a very sleepless night last night, are distracting me from the concept that I may be in labor and fnally get to meet Baby Girl tomorrow! ugh. I want to be more enthusiastic and excited, but just can not muster the energy, which is depressing me a bit. Oh well, hubby went out to get some food, so hopefully I will feel better after I have eaten.

Well, the induction has been delayed till May 19th. The hospital u/s measured Baby Girl at around 7 LBS 8 OZ - still large for her age, but not so extreme! The hospital u/s Dr also checked out the placenta, blood flow, and all of Baby Girl's organs and everything looked good! The Dr. kept pushing down hard with the u/s thingy in order to get a good shot for the measurements and Baby Girl did NOT like it! She kept pushing back hard, making it even harder for the Dr - but all signs of good health, thank God!

Today was my regualr weekly check-up. My Dr is still concerned about the baby's size and does not want to go past my due date - May 26th. However she is worried about an increase chance of c-section the closer I am to my due date as well as placenta age. So I selected May 19th for the induction date. My husband wants me to wait and to be induced on my due date, but I am just so nervous that something will happen to Baby Girl before she is born. My husband will support me on the May 19th date but I am just so confused. I would rather have natural labor, but I am just so scared. Baby Girl will be 39 weeks on the 19th and, according to the hospital u/s, is now fully mature, so I don't think it will hurt her to be born a week early. I am just hoping I go into natural labor before the 19th. I also had an internal exam and am a little over 50% effaced but not dilated at all. Glad to hear something is happening though!

May 3, 2008

Well ladies - just learned yesterday that I am scheduled for an induction on May 11th - Mother's Day!!!! I got the call around 3pm in the afternoon and managed to hold onto the news until I could tell hubby face to face. We are both so excited to have just a little over a week left before we meet our Baby Girl! We are spending this weekend going to the movies and eating out at my favorite restaurants. The nursery is almost done, just need to finish washing clothes and putting them away. Hubby still has to install the car seat and I still have to pack my hospital bags (have had no energy these last few weeks). So I think we are ready - I am definately ready to be done being pregnant!

Oh and we are having to induce because at my last check-up the Dr measured her on the u/s (2 measurements of the head, measurements of torso and femur) and after double checking the measurements told us Baby Girl looks to be weighing in a 9LBS!!!! Holy Moly! Also she said the placenta is already building calcium deposits. I am off to the hospital on Tuesday to have the weight measurements double checked by a specialist and as long as the Dr was right about the baby's size and the placenta I am set to go on Mother's Day!

Hi jes76Thanks for replying to my post. Its reassuring to hear that what Im going through is normal. My miscarriage earlier in the year has definitely taken away the glory and excitement of pregnancy. I dont want to get excited in case my hopes are dashed again... I went for a scan in Week 6 and it showed that there was a heartbeat! So exciting because last time I just had an empty sac and no baby =(. Im still petrified of something going wrong. I guess I just have to think positive and cross my fingers! With the tiredness thing my mum just made me feel a bit worried because she was like are you sure its normal to be that tired? maybe you should mention it when you see your midwife... and that just made me feel scared because in my first pregnancy before I miscarried I felt extremely tired and that ended in miscarriage....Its so good to hear that its normal to be scared after a miscarriage. I did have counselling for it a few months ago but the counsellor had never had a miscarriage (even though she specialises in miscarriage!) and she's never had kids and I just felt that she didnt really understand.Good luck with your pregnancy! Your daughter is beautiful by the way.

Hey, saw your message (I'm from 6 weeks) there's a store called TallGirl, and they sell Maternity pants, they also have WONDERFULLY long shirts as well. They are a godsend to us 6 footers (and up). I hope this helps. I'm from Canada, but they do ship the the states. http://www.tallgirlshop.com/

jes76 - in response to your question about work...why do you need to tell them right now? Maybe let them find out on their own (via observation) and when they comment about it reassure them that a pregnancyy or a baby for that matter is not nor should be a concern of your abilities to manage (or whatever it is you do) your business effectively. Be professional, curt but pleasant about it. If you apologize or show concern about it your more likely to give off the impression that your not too sure how it will all work out either but hoping for the best.

You are not the only one saying they are already showing. I am between 6-7 weeks pregnant and am already showing. A few people have asked how many months pregnant I was. They said it looks like i'm 3-4 months. I have posted a picture on my page if you want to check it out.
