it is february 18th and i am 23 weeks pregnant. my little boy seems to love living on my bladder and i am trying to prep my 3 year old who was recently in an accident and is still recovering for the idea his brother will be here this summer. We are going to name our little boy Lucas Karl

February 25th/ week 24:

Baby still loves to live on my bladder and i am now feeling like i am 34 weeks pregnant not just 24. I feel like its harder to move/get around in this pregnancy. The baby is doing good at the last ultrasound he weighed a pound. We have had alot of appointments and schedualing with my 3 year old son. He is 1 month post op of his accident. and making strives but we are hoping they will be even better before the baby gets here. Heartburn and shortness of breath are getting worse. We still need to get so much stuff for the baby and i dont even know when that is going to be. Until next time. ~J

March 18th/week 27:

I did my glucose test yesterday. still dont have the results yet. My doctor is now going to move me to appointments every 2 weeks instead of 4. She had a hard time getting the baby to stay still to hear his heartbeat as it has been every appointment. Guess he is a acrobat in there. I have an ultrasound next week i am looking forward to because i feel its my way to see the face of the precious boy in me who kicks everyday. I have been bugged by my siatic (spelling) nerve where i have to stop moving because it hurts. I have more shortness of breathe when i am active. And more swelling after i have been walking around. Im ready for the 1 week appointments not the 2 week ones.

Week 28: I really wish i was feeling better having my wisdom teeth pulled has made the baby kick more maybe because of the lack of food intake i have had the past few days. I also have been naucious which is kinda a first since my morning sickness in the beginning wasnt bad at all. The baby's ultrasound however was wonderful. The ultrasound tech said he looked hreat and i have a 3d pic of him up now. However he was trying to sleep so we only have a side view. The tech also said she could see hair on his head which excites me. ANd his weight was estimated at 2lbs 9 ozs. So sounds like my little Lucas is doing good. Cant believe i have to wait 11 more weeks till i can see him again and actually have him in my arms. Maybe time will pass by quick enough that i dont go crazy.

Almost 32 weeks: Sheesh i wish it would hurry up and get here. IM so irritable and have cramps and a very hard time getting around. Never this much trouble with my first pregnancy. I will be so glad to hold my baby rather than sitting my arms on my huge belly. My doc says im most likely going to have the baby a week or so early beacuse of his 2 vessel cord. I had to do the same with my 1st child and he turned out just fine being born at 38 weeks pregnant. He was 6lbs 1 ozs and very healthy and always has been. I sometimes wonder if god was to be pregnant would he want to carry a baby for 40 weeks or would he change it to say 38? Just thinking. Ultrasound next week, i really love having those, its the only thing that keeps me sane while pregnant is seeing my baby on the screen that causes the discompfort i have daily. Love u little baby!!

33 weeks: So from my ultrasound they say my baby is 4 lbs 1 oz and i am measuring more like a week behind and his head is VERY low! so his little head is stuck down there till delivery. I had a ob appt yesterday and my doc says that im measuring more like 34 weeks so with 2 different answers etleast i have my own middle ground. I was told by my midwife that they are going to have me doing a weekly biophysical profile on the baby probably till delivery. ANd i see my midwife every 2 weeks till they tell me different. He had the hiccups yesterday and i dont mind that i think its cute cus it dosent hurt when that happens i just watch my stomach. When he kicks though it can be painfull.

35 weeks: I am lets say very emotional and stressed out right now. My mother in law keeps trying to make plans that she wants us to do that are very close to my due date but wants us to travel her way which is about 3 hours and im completely against it cus there are chances my baby will be a little early and not to mention i want to have my baby at the hospital of our choice not by emergency at some other hospital. I also want to spend time with my son before the new baby is born and i feel very emotional lately to him spending the night in a differnet city. Not to mention last time that happend he got sick. i just would feel more at ease if these things werent going on. I have been having alot of pelvic pain and have woke up a few times with a horrible cramp in my calf muscle that makes my leg sore for a few days. I spent much of this weekend crying because of mother in law situations and my husband not talking to me first before he makes a plan with his mother. I am ready to be in the hospital having the baby so that when i say no one bother me the nurses and my husband know im serious. I see the doctor on thursday and lets just say i have alot to say and complain about!!

I was just reading on your page, I see your talking about traveling...well, My mother in law lives 3 hours away too and we told his parents that after mothers day thats it...We are not leaving our town until after the baby is born. I have a birth plan here and I feel safer in my hospital. I'd rather not risk it either...so I def know how you feel!

Oh and that cramp you got in your calve..BANANAS! Eat lots of Bananas! I got one like a month ago in the same spot, I woke up in the middle of the night in tears it hurt soooooo bad. Went and got some bananas and haven't had one that bad since...I can some times feel them about to start and I'll just go to the store and get bananas and I'm fine again.
I like to find different ways to eat them, My grandmother used to cut up banana and put it in a bowl with a little bit of milk and some sugar on top...OMG so good...Or even cut one up and put it in with your cereal...Right now Im hooked on Rice Crispies with banana and sugar lol....Great now im making my mouth water lol

Well, I've been saying 3 but he'll be 3 on the 31st. Close enough, right? I can't wait for my next appt. I just KNOW I've dilated more. Even thought that doesn't really mean much to me, it's still nice to know the pain I've been having is doing something down there! Wow, 3 other appts besides the doc? Busy busy busy! I'm 36wks today and today has been a strange one! Woke up at 5:30 with the sudden urge to get out of bed and do the laundry. So I got up and did the laundry. Usually I can't even DRAG myself out of bed until 8 or so. But yeah, I got the laundry done and did some other crap around the house and then at 9 I decided to sit down and watch a movie. Got maybe 15 minutes into it and passed out cold. Now I'm up again and I think I'm gunna go clean some and then get some crap done in the yard after I eat some lunch!!! But today I had this feeling that Cayden is gunna come a sometime soon. A really strong feeling. Like another week or so. Who knows. We'll see. This morning he was moving around for about 3hrs straight and it felt like he was pushing down on my cervix wicked hard. It hurt bad! It actually sorta felt like he was gunna break my water! I did notice some dribbles here and there but I'm thinking it's probably just pee. He was moving so much he probably put so much pressure on my bladder it pushed out a little bit! LOL

Everything is good so far. I never spotted with my first preg. Been having so contractions off and now since last night. Just a waiting game now.

preciousangels2 - Thursday, 15 May
Yeah, it could have been from being checked. I think they should check you at every appt from now. At least that's how it was with my last one. I know she's going to check me at my next appt and I was checked at my last one. I guess I'm lucky because I've never had a problem with him keeping me up at night. Only thing that keeps me from getting any sleep is peeing and then my 3yr old waking up early as hell!!! Tomorrow I will be 36wks. I can't believe it! But I'm so ready to have this baby!

preciousangels2 - Thursday, 15 May
Yeah, I want it 8hrs or less, like last time! I am at 1cm so far too. At least I was a week ago. But I had contractions for like 4hrs today and then all of a sudden they stopped. I haven't had any for 40 minutes now. :( Oh well. Maybe tomorrow? Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday!

feltkoo23 - Thursday, 15 May
I just lost it a few hours ago. the pains in the ass, I am having those as well. It seems as if the baby is going to come through it. Now I am worried because I just started spotting some blood. I am not sure if I should call the dr. or if it is normal since I lost my plug a few hours ago.

preciousangels2 - Tuesday, 13 May
Man, I was 40wks 5 days when my first finally decided to come! They never induced me or gave me any pitocin or anything. My water broke at 3:30am and then I started having contractions at 4:30am. Got to the hospital around 5:30 and he was born at 12:28pm. So, from when my contractions started, it was an 8hr labor. Not too bad for a first time, wouldn't you say?? Hopefully this time will be just as quick, if not quicker, but definitely need enough time for me to get the epidural! LOL, I remember thinking the same thing after losing the mucous plug and all that.

preciousangels2 - Monday, 12 May
That's awesome that you don't have to see the midwife you don't like much. Hopefully you've progressed some too, but if not I wouldn't worry about it! With my first, I was dilated 2cm and 80% effaced for a whole month before he was born! Yuck! Talk about discouraging!

KariLynn - Monday, 12 May
Aw sorry about your MIL. I know that like you I don't want to go anywhere especially because you just never know when the big day is really going to be here. Dan is always wanting to go camping, which I do too, but want to be close to a hospital just in case. I mean anything could happen. So I can relate. Hang in there hun, and just let your hubby know that you don't want to go anywhere until after the baby is born! You have every right to do whatever you want. I mean you carried the youngin and that right is yours. Well I am going to take a lil nap talk to you later :)

KariLynn - Monday, 12 May
Hi :) Sorry I havent gotten back to you :) So busy! I still haven't found out about the circumcision thing! I need to get on it. About the strep test, well aparently you can get strep in the vaginal area and that can cause the baby to be really sick. I asked someone about it when you seemed a bit surprised when I mentioned it. LOL I am always second guessing myself. But that is how I learned more about it. The lady i asked though, says my doctor kind of does things a little different. Ugh, so I just talked to my case worker with medicaid and found out that the circumcision is not covered. I don't know what I am going to do. I heard though that the hospital will let you make payments, is that an option for you at all? How have you been doing otherwise? We are getting so close its scary a little bit. Well back to work I go. I will talk yo you again soon :)

preciousangels2 - Monday, 12 May
Aw, hopefully they'll realize that you guys have things you need to do and can't always go where they want, when they want! I hope your appt goes good, I don't go back until the 20th but hopefully I've dilated more by then. I'm at 1cm and my cervix is very, very soft. Have you been checked yet or will your doc do that on the 15th?

christilynn - Monday, 12 May
HEy Jess! i'm right there with you on the pelvic pain :( I'm DYING!

preciousangels2 - Friday, 9 May
Well, hopefully either your baby is born before then or your doc will induce you! I'm just gunna take it as it comes and he'll be born when he's born. I hope that's while my Mom is visiting! Haha. I know what you mean about going to your in laws. I wouldn't go if I were you. At least not that close to my due date! My in laws live about 3 1/2hrs away too so I know what you mean.

preciousangels2 - Friday, 9 May
My doc didn't say he was low or anything but that can actually happen just before you go in to labor anyway so I'm not worried. As long as I start to dilate, I'm happy. Wonder what I'll be dilated to when I go to my next appt on the 20th. I've been having some crazy contractions so I better be dilating more!

preciousangels2 - Thursday, 8 May
Yeah, it sucks because my insurance doesn't cover any of the circumcision. Oh well. At least I have a couple options! MMM. I'm munchin on some sweet and sour chicken. So good. I just got back from the doctors. I've gained a total of 21lbs. Yuck. Oh well, it's not too bad I guess. I don't go back to the doc until the 20th but they did the strep b swab today and she checked my cervix. She said it's very soft but not effaced any and I'm 1cm dilated. Which really, doesn't mean a thing to me. I was 2cm and 80% effaced with my first for about 1 1/2 months before he was born... I want to see the head coming out and that's it too. I was kinda thinking about maybe catching him too. Not sure how that works. Guess the doc kinda places the baby in your hands/arms as he/she is being born. I thought that would be kinda neat.

PatzMum - Thursday, 8 May
whoa... easy now. you seriously have almost 2 mths left before your dd. please do not do this or even attempt it. I know your probably just wondering, but that is scary shit.

My heart just lurched thinking you or someone else might think its okay at home to do that yourself, especially when your only 34 weeks. I'm 36 weeks, heading into 37 in a bit and I"m being faced with possibly having my child earlier then I'd like, and all i can worry about is whether he will breathe on his own, or be able to eat properly..... MommyJewels says it perfect about the NICU etc., my child may even end up there..... PLEASE PLEASE do not do any home remedies on yourself unless you ask a doctor or medical professional...

GOOD LUCK.. and keep patient hun.. I know how close you are - but think you made it this far, and every week is another step to a healthy baby.. :)

tls080 - Thursday, 8 May
You can strip your own membranes but I would ask my doctor to do it to be on the safe side.

preciousangels2 - Thursday, 8 May
I know right?! They act so tough sometimes, like they could handle anything but they can't stand to look when a baby is being born?? LOL My hubby made the mistake of looking after I had given birth, he was over with our son and he looked right as the placenta and all that came out! He said it was the most disgusting thing he'd ever seen! I won't be in the room when they do the circumcision either. I wasn't with my first and I don't plan on it this time. Although, we aren't having it done at the hospital this time. Insurance doesn't cover it and at the hospital it's $400. I called my sons pediatrician and for them to do it, it would cost around $150. Big price difference.

KariLynn - Wednesday, 7 May
Do you really get a dozen eggs a day? Wow lol. People at my house will be eating a lot of eggs lol. I am trying to get a hold of medicaid to check on the circumcision thing. That would suck. I don't know if I could come up with the money for that. Other than that, I think I am slowly getting things ready. I never thought there would be so much to do! Its so crazy. Just 5 weeks to go. I get the strep test done at my next appt. I really hope it comes back negative. I don't want to chance my baby coming out sick or something. I just can't wait to meet my little guy!!

nmck - Tuesday, 6 May
Reglan is a prescription med that has a side effect of increasing prolactin and making more milk in a lot of women. The lactation consultant suggested it to me, and I called my OB and asked if she agreed and would call a prescription in to my pharmacy. It has worked some, but I still don't have tons of milk. I went from pumping 3-4 oz a day to 6 oz a day.

KariLynn - Saturday, 3 May
I am glad you got to see your babys face and that things are great!! I will have another u/s coming up, just don't know when quite yet. I am so mad I am trying to get pre registered at the hospital, and the number I have just keeps ringing and ringing. It is driving my crazy, then it tells me to try another number and grrrr.....does the same thing. I need to get registered, my nurse said its filling up quickly, so I was just wondering, if I don't get it done in time, will they not let me have my baby lol. Just one of those things. I am looking forward to a nice weekend, just wish I didn't have to be at work. Well I should get going. I will talk to you later :)

KariLynn - Friday, 2 May
Hey ;) how are the calves doing? It can be so horribe even a couple of days after. I am so exhausted! I want a full nights sleep again! Especially before the baby gets here cause I know I will never sleep then lol. I hope I am not an overworried mom. I really need to get things into gear though. Time is ticking and I am getting lazier and lazier and bigger and bigger. That just makes things so much easier..lol.
