it is february 18th and i am 23 weeks pregnant. my little boy seems to love living on my bladder and i am trying to prep my 3 year old who was recently in an accident and is still recovering for the idea his brother will be here this summer. We are going to name our little boy Lucas Karl

February 25th/ week 24:

Baby still loves to live on my bladder and i am now feeling like i am 34 weeks pregnant not just 24. I feel like its harder to move/get around in this pregnancy. The baby is doing good at the last ultrasound he weighed a pound. We have had alot of appointments and schedualing with my 3 year old son. He is 1 month post op of his accident. and making strives but we are hoping they will be even better before the baby gets here. Heartburn and shortness of breath are getting worse. We still need to get so much stuff for the baby and i dont even know when that is going to be. Until next time. ~J

March 18th/week 27:

I did my glucose test yesterday. still dont have the results yet. My doctor is now going to move me to appointments every 2 weeks instead of 4. She had a hard time getting the baby to stay still to hear his heartbeat as it has been every appointment. Guess he is a acrobat in there. I have an ultrasound next week i am looking forward to because i feel its my way to see the face of the precious boy in me who kicks everyday. I have been bugged by my siatic (spelling) nerve where i have to stop moving because it hurts. I have more shortness of breathe when i am active. And more swelling after i have been walking around. Im ready for the 1 week appointments not the 2 week ones.

Week 28: I really wish i was feeling better having my wisdom teeth pulled has made the baby kick more maybe because of the lack of food intake i have had the past few days. I also have been naucious which is kinda a first since my morning sickness in the beginning wasnt bad at all. The baby's ultrasound however was wonderful. The ultrasound tech said he looked hreat and i have a 3d pic of him up now. However he was trying to sleep so we only have a side view. The tech also said she could see hair on his head which excites me. ANd his weight was estimated at 2lbs 9 ozs. So sounds like my little Lucas is doing good. Cant believe i have to wait 11 more weeks till i can see him again and actually have him in my arms. Maybe time will pass by quick enough that i dont go crazy.

Almost 32 weeks: Sheesh i wish it would hurry up and get here. IM so irritable and have cramps and a very hard time getting around. Never this much trouble with my first pregnancy. I will be so glad to hold my baby rather than sitting my arms on my huge belly. My doc says im most likely going to have the baby a week or so early beacuse of his 2 vessel cord. I had to do the same with my 1st child and he turned out just fine being born at 38 weeks pregnant. He was 6lbs 1 ozs and very healthy and always has been. I sometimes wonder if god was to be pregnant would he want to carry a baby for 40 weeks or would he change it to say 38? Just thinking. Ultrasound next week, i really love having those, its the only thing that keeps me sane while pregnant is seeing my baby on the screen that causes the discompfort i have daily. Love u little baby!!

33 weeks: So from my ultrasound they say my baby is 4 lbs 1 oz and i am measuring more like a week behind and his head is VERY low! so his little head is stuck down there till delivery. I had a ob appt yesterday and my doc says that im measuring more like 34 weeks so with 2 different answers etleast i have my own middle ground. I was told by my midwife that they are going to have me doing a weekly biophysical profile on the baby probably till delivery. ANd i see my midwife every 2 weeks till they tell me different. He had the hiccups yesterday and i dont mind that i think its cute cus it dosent hurt when that happens i just watch my stomach. When he kicks though it can be painfull.

35 weeks: I am lets say very emotional and stressed out right now. My mother in law keeps trying to make plans that she wants us to do that are very close to my due date but wants us to travel her way which is about 3 hours and im completely against it cus there are chances my baby will be a little early and not to mention i want to have my baby at the hospital of our choice not by emergency at some other hospital. I also want to spend time with my son before the new baby is born and i feel very emotional lately to him spending the night in a differnet city. Not to mention last time that happend he got sick. i just would feel more at ease if these things werent going on. I have been having alot of pelvic pain and have woke up a few times with a horrible cramp in my calf muscle that makes my leg sore for a few days. I spent much of this weekend crying because of mother in law situations and my husband not talking to me first before he makes a plan with his mother. I am ready to be in the hospital having the baby so that when i say no one bother me the nurses and my husband know im serious. I see the doctor on thursday and lets just say i have alot to say and complain about!!

37 weeks: So last week i was 3 cm and 80% effaced and at my appt this morning she says im like 4cm and 80% effaced and very "ripe" but she cant enduce me until tuesday so unless he wants to come on his own before that im out of luck. We have everything ready when its finally time to head to the hospital, just waiting for that time. My instict is that now that there are really only 7 days holding us back how long are these days going to take. My doctor says other than just waiting sex and walking might help.

June 3 2008: Baby Lucas Karl West born at 2 am weighing 6 lb 11 oz and 19 inches dark hair and eyes werre not sure what color yet. Just got home and its such a blessing!!

Thanks for replying to my post about the cord being wrapped around my baby's neck. It's making me feel a little better to hear stories with good outcomes from people. I'm so glad things with your little brother were ok! I only hope I have the same good news in a couple of months. Thanks again and I hope you're feeling well!

Spring cleaning...yuck!! I really needed to get some stuff done yesterday, but nope. Didn't happen ended up doing a whole lot of nothing. I have sooooo much laundry, thinking about just hitting the laundry mat on Sunday. I too need to get some spring cleaning done. ITs just doesn't sound appealing to me at all. But I really want to have everything done by 36 weeks. Time is just going too fast.

Hey just thought I would check in. Well another day down, and tomorrow starts a new week for me. I had the busiest day ever today. I am so ready to go home :)

Thanks! I know, I can't believe the details they can get. I'll have another ultrasound in 2 weeks, so hopefully so more piccies then! Good luck with your US and weight estimate - keep us updated:)

Hi,
Yes, I had heard the rumor of the baby's hair growing with heartburn, but I had this horrendous pain first time and my little boy was born practically bald, with a light covering of light brown hair! At the moment my section is scheduled for 38 1/2 weeks, but I'd really love to bring it forwards even more. I've got a doc appointment tomorrow, so I'll ask again then. The little bubs are considered fullterm at 37 weeks, so maybe use all the rumors for trying to induce labor around then. Could be fun:) Good luck and take care:)

Hey jess84, I have the worst heart burn ever. Mine gets so bad I get sick. My doc told me to take Zantac. I seems to help a little. I've had it since about week 20. Try not to lay down after you eat that makes it worse. Just think it's not too much longer and it will be gone. That's what I keep telling myself!! LOL

I had HELLP syndrome with my first baby, and the main symptom I had with that was what I thought was horrendous heartburn at night. I was fine during the day, just normal pregnancy discomfort, but would be pacing the floor with the pain at night. Other symptoms to look out for are increased blood pressure, swelling of hands, feet and face, and itching. I would call your OB just to let them know and see what they say. Take care.

I don't think i've heard of bio-oil...what is it supposed to do?

preggoteacher - Friday, 18 April
i've heard women swear on it. Apparently, it helps the skin stretch further instead of tearing...which I'm all for. I just bought a little bottle of it from wal-mart. It was pretty cheap.

lol...Doesn't he?? :) But never been to the military. It's his good posture. :)

Yep, that's good to know. I will definitely be having the nurses help us out w/ that situation. I'm amazed that people can make such a big event in someone else's life all about them... but that's my husband's family in a nutshell! My baby's future grandparents! Great! ;-]

christilynn - Tuesday, 15 April
read your comment on week 31-I'm going through the SAME THING with my husband. he use to make ALL KINDS of comments and was ALWAYS "going after me" but now....eh...i'm lucky if i get ANYTHING out of him...can't wait to get my body back....hang in there with me!

knockoutmom - Tuesday, 15 April
ugh, dont you love that? i hate procrastinating and he's the kind of it! if it were up to me id already have the nursery done probaly since about january when we found out it was a girl! haha. it seems like we still need so much more to get, too. he thinks just cause we have the crib and changing table we're set. little does he know!

CD2007 - Tuesday, 15 April
I got lucky to get that video lol It's like he knows when I'm putting him on the spot and he will stop..Usually when I want my husband to look and see my belly going back and forth as soon as his eyes look at me the kid stops! lol
some days he could be going nuts in there and as soon as my camera turns on...."Oh no moms at it again....I gotta be still" Goofy kid!

mplsmama - Tuesday, 15 April
Thanks for the tips on family & when to visit... good to know that the nurses will often tell people to back off... my hubby can be a bit of a pushover when it comes to his family so we may need an outsider to be the bad guy! I definitely refuse to let his family interfere w/ our time w/ the baby, though, I'll tell you that much. Perhaps it's a good thing that most of them live in town so no one will be trying to stay in our house or anything... but I agree, people should be thinking of mom & baby's comfort 1st, but my in-laws seem to think the world's axis runs right through them! They make everything about them... very self-absorbed. The more I think about it, I think I may just tell them they can come the next day! I'll need some time to work up to the idea of having to deal w/ them... ;-] Thanks again.

Hey Jess-Thank you SO much for your comment on my page-I feel LOADS better! I LOVE the name you picked out!!!! This is our first baby and we're naming him Alexander Patrick (patrick is my husbands name) but we call him Xander. Our NEXT one we will name Owen Lucas...I am already primed for baby number 2!!! I can't wait to see my little boy! Thanks again!

KariLynn - Thursday, 10 April
Men just really don't understand! Drives me nuts. I did get Dan to laugh the other night, well the baby had Dan laughing. He was going crazy. I laugh all the time. Except last night when the baby decided to keep me up all night! I love it though!! I am ready for nice weather all the time!! A trip would be so nice, but like you I have those bills too!! They just never go away, somehow seem to get more every month, and I suppose that won't get any better with the baby!! ITs almost time to go home! YAY!!!

KariLynn - Wednesday, 9 April
Hi. Baby stuff is so expensive. Buying stuff is hard. I really don't have the money to be buying stuff that I don't need ya know. I know that I need everything, but its just like well whats that lol. Yay for 30 weeks. I can't believe I will be 31 weeks tomorrow. I really want time to slow down. Like you said even though being pregnant can be painful, I really think that I will miss it! My favorite part is watching my belly move. I could just watch him forever. I wish i could see inside jsut to watch him. Fun Fun. Well I should get going. I go home in 10 minutes and cannot wait!! Talk to you later :)

KariLynn - Monday, 7 April
I am glad that I am not the only one who had trouble finding the site again. It is weird and will take some getting used to thats for sure. I think I had my first experience with braxton hicks this morning, it was so weird. Have you had them with this pregnancy? Well I have to get back to work, but will talk to you again soon. Have a great day!

KariLynn - Saturday, 5 April
Hey there how are things going?? I am soo tired today. I would love it if I could just sleep through the whole night, I really miss that! Do you ever notice your hands going numb at all while you are sleeping? I have had that the last couple nights I am thinking its because I have been laying on my right side. But can't seem to switch positions as then I get even less sleep. It is so annooying. What do you think of the new sight. This is my first day on in about a week. I really missed it i noticed. Its really so comforting to have this sight. Well I should get back to work. I hope all is well. Take care :)
