It's official...we're married. What a load off my shoulders..not the marriage part, but now that the planning and execution of the wedding is done I can concentrate more on our little girl! The wedding was wonderful and the honeymoon in Vegas was a blast! I'm so happy!!!!
I'm 20 weeks now and feeling pretty good. I'm just starting to show and am growing bigger everyday! I can not believe that I'm officially half way done being pregnant. March will be here before we know it!

So I haven't really been on here or posted since the wedding and I thought it was about time that I got caught up. First things first- I will be 31 weeks tomorrow! Only 9 weeks left- 64 days. Holy Cow, that flew by!!! Ok, so onto my baby girl................ Upon returning from our honeymoon in Las Vegas me and Kevin had our follow up U/S for the NT test. At this ultrasound, the Neonatalogit informed us that the baby "echogenic" bowel. Something in her belly was brighter than should be on the ultrasound- and it could be nothing but it could be something serious. We were made aware that babies with CF or DS ofter appear with echogenic bowel- butI tested negative for CF and the NT showed my risk of DS o be 1:15,000. We were to return in 4 weeks for a follow up. At the next follow up u/s, we were told that the echogenic bowel looked as if it could be a precursor to a bowel obstruction. Some loops of the baby's intestines were visable at 24 weeks- and shouldn't really be visable until around 30 weeks. We were told that if it turned out to be an obstruction, then the baby would need surgery immediately after birth to fix the problem. Talk about freaking out!!!!! Immediately I immersed myself in any/all information I could get my hands on regarding bowel obstruction and antenatal surgery. Time for the next follow up- whic was just this past week. Our baby girl is absolutely, 100%, FINE. That's right, totlaly normal..The Dr. and tech both agreed that perhaps that is just how she grew-and her belly looks completely normal, no obstruction, no problems. Can you believe that???? We were COMPLETELY heartbroken, scared, and upset for weeks and weeks thinking that she was going to be sick and need surgery. It was one of the best days of my life so far, when they told me that she's normal and will not need surgery! She weighs 3.1 pounds as of 30 weeks and 3 days-right on target! I couldn't be any more excited to meet out little miracle girl in 64 days exactly!
P.S. Married life is absolutely fabulous!! Loving every single second of it! We moved into our new house the weekend before Christmas and are starting the nursery this weekend!!!
February 14, 2008- due one month from today!!!!
Happy Valentine's Day! Just thought I'd update this page because it's been over a month. 36 weeks tomorrow! Holy cow, this pregnancy has really flown by. Maybe I'm just lucky- but I really have enjoyed being pregnant. No major discomforts at this point besides from feeling very heavy and fat. Sleeping is an issue at this point, but I think it's natures way of preparing me to be awake every 2 hours for the baby. Life is good!!! My husband Kevin and I finished the nursery last night (got to nursery rooms photo book, and check out Sabrina's room) so that is one less thing we need to worry about. My bag is 90% packed for the hospital- and I'll finish that up this weekend. I had my last appointment on Monday- 35 weeks: strep b test, measuring 34.5 weeks, and the midwife thinks that Sabrina will be about 6.5lbs when she is born. In her words, "She'll be a cute little bird instead of a big turkey." Anyways, I have to say that everything is getting very exciting. Just getting ready for her arrival- which could really be anytime now.

I am officially 37 weeks tomorrow!!!!!! Can't believe that Sabrina Paige is going to be here anytime now!! At my last appointment they gave me instructions of what to do when I go into labor, and the usual apt. stuff. Heartrate and belly measurement are perfect- no internal exam done, though. I was hoping they'd do one so I had an idea if I'm dialated or effaced at all. I'm not really in a huge rush to go into labor, just would love a "heads up". At my final follow-up appt. with the specialist for Sabrina's "echogenic bowel" - which is no longer suspicisious or abnormal therefore, not a problem to be concerned about anymore- they said that she weighed 5lbs 2oz. (35 weeks). According to my OB-GYN, this means that this weeks she weighs about 5lbs. 10oz. and will gain 1/2 a pound a week until she's born. This means that if I make it to 40 weeks she will be a 7lb 10oz baby girl! Not too big, not too small!!! The last comment my Dr. said to me as we were walking out the door was, "See you next week...if not before!" Wow, that put it into perspective!!!
