Hey im Jessica, this is Kirk and I's first child. His name is Joseph Anthony Donnelly. He was Born on July 11, 2008, at 12:39 pm. He was 5lbs 9oz and 19 inches long. he is my pride and joy, i love just staring at him so much, i love to give him lots of kisses, and hugs. Now a little about me, I had the gastric bypass surgery July 23 2007, then 2.5 months later i got preggers. i had to get test alot just so the baby and i would be safe. everything went well until the end, and joseph started weighing in small. so i had to go for NST every week, and doppler test, sonos, and my regular check up every week. I had to keep in contact with my surgery doctor to make sure all my levels were semi normal the whole time. i was induced on July 10 at 6 am with cervadel,then i had to have cervadel again 12 hours later. Then on the 11th, the broke my water a little after 9 and gave my pitocin. then around 11 i got my epi and then at 12:39 here was joseph. i dont remember much they had me so drugged up, they said i didnt even push, he came out on his own. well any questions please feel free and message me. talk to you later

I'm so excited for you hun.... Wow, I can't wait til that day comes for me. She's right now, bouncing around in there, and I wish I were holding her in my arms already. i wouldn't have thought of that myself either, but i've been an L&D nurse for 11 years.... the things we learn when we've "been in labor" hundreds of times, ha ha!

I know you said they were going to take him next week, but when is your due date? Are you still not due for a few weeks? I am due Aug 2nd but we are going to induce on July 26th. This is my second child, my first 1 is 7 1/2 years old. When I got pregnant I was in a size 20 but instead of buying new clothes I have been wearing my larger sizes. I figured why spend the money for a short time.

We are still getting things together and still have stuff to buy but I will knock alot of that out this weekend. Even if we brought him home now we would have everything we would need but still there are a few things that would be nice to have.

But for the baby to only be under weight by a pound, really isnt that bad, or so I wouldnt think considering what you have been through.

I had my gall bladder done in 2001 and I had my bypass done in April of 2006. So I am a little more then 2 years out. I have not had any problems with the gastric bypass. I have only gained 9 pounds so far and they think the baby is about 8 pounds, so he is growing just fine. My blood levels all have been fine. I was 500 pounds before the bypass and I had only lost 225 pounds when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to have lost more but I was still happy with the amount I did drop. How are things going for you so far?

Sometimes babies do better out than in...that was the case with my 2nd one....at 37 weeks she was way below 10th%. they induced me the next day....she ended up having a really rare blood infection, but had I went to term with her, she wouldv'e died during birth. It sounds like you have a great doctor whio is watching you very closely.

Then don't let them bring you down hun....I mean it, they are not taking care of this baby, just like you said to your hubby, you are and you are the one carrying him too. So I am all for you and whatever you decide. I know it's hard hun, but you know what your doing so don't worry bout them. After the baby comes, they'll probably forget about it all and see that you were right. For the breast feeding, nothing may change there mind on that one but who cares, again there not the one's doing it either, and maybe you should tell them that tooo....what would they say then???? ha ha I could see there faces though....Anyway I wish I could make the situation easier for you, but I don't think it's possible. You have to be the one who does that, and only by ignoring what they say. Do you think your mom will back you on this? I"m curious to what she thinks too. I really doesnt matter but it'd be nice if she did, then I know you'd feel better about it. Keep your head up girl...Your gonna be a mommy very soon, and thats whats the most important part of it....:) :briggrin
