Hey im Jessica, this is Kirk and I's first child. His name is Joseph Anthony Donnelly. He was Born on July 11, 2008, at 12:39 pm. He was 5lbs 9oz and 19 inches long. he is my pride and joy, i love just staring at him so much, i love to give him lots of kisses, and hugs. Now a little about me, I had the gastric bypass surgery July 23 2007, then 2.5 months later i got preggers. i had to get test alot just so the baby and i would be safe. everything went well until the end, and joseph started weighing in small. so i had to go for NST every week, and doppler test, sonos, and my regular check up every week. I had to keep in contact with my surgery doctor to make sure all my levels were semi normal the whole time. i was induced on July 10 at 6 am with cervadel, then i had to have cervadel again 12 hours later. Then on the 11th, the broke my water a little after 9 and gave my pitocin. then around 11 i got my epi and then at 12:39 here was joseph. i dont remember much they had me so drugged up, they said i didnt even push, he came out on his own. well any questions please feel free and message me. talk to you later

Ya, it doesnt mean you don't like his family it's just that they need to keep there mouths shut, and let you do what you need to do. Your doctor wouldnt do it if she/he wasnt sure the baby is fine. I understand it's hard though to deal with him and his family considering he's going to side with them most likely anyway. He doesnt want to look bad ya know, but it's still your decision either way. What can he do about it?? Has he been going to the appointments with you? If not, maybe you should bring him next time and make sure the doctor explains why inducing will be fine, then it will ease his mind. I don't know what else to say except to hang in there hun, and try not to stress about it. Just keep in touch, and let it all out tome, I'll try and help you feel better if I can.

That sucks you have to deal with that, and it's your business what you do, not there's and how bout your hubby? What does he think? HE's with you daily so he can see what your going through and if it's time to do it, and who cares really what anyone else thinks. There not doctors, ya know thats the stuff my mom would say. She knows better than the doctor even....lol we both know that's not true and do what you want and think is right!!!! I'm sure many others on this site would back you up on it too. Try not to let them bring you down about it. And do you know how many people don't breast feed? I can't, although I'd love to, but even if I could, I'm not sure if i'd be able to after I went back to work. I mean it's difficult, and to have to pump at work, and I work at a shop. anyway I'm just saying it's all your decision and nobody can force you to do anything. So keep your head high and remember this is your baby and nobody else's.....

Good morning, and I'm happy that everything went good for you yesterday. That's wonderful, and are you excited about the induction? I would be. I also went to the doctor yesterday and she was actually good bout answering questions, but Ryan was with this time and I think that makes a difference. She checked me cause of pain after urinating, and I'm not dialated, and she thinks the baby has turned head down. Great, if she's right....She said I still measure under, and I asked her what I'm measuring and she said just 2 under but didnt say what that was, and she said that if I don't have her withing the next 3 to 4 weeks we'll do another u/s. So I"m hoping I have her before then....I can't wait. And she's been so darn active since yesterday, it's crazy cause she is more active than normal. OH and the doctor said that the itching I'm having is ok as long as I don't have a rash, but it still makes me nervous considering I've read up on it and it can be some kind of liver issue with the baby. Anyway, everything is good on my end too, and thats great for us both right?? Anyway I'm so so glad to hear your ok, and I'm wishing you the best of luck....Keep in touch. And let me know how you feel bout the induction.

Okay...got it. Well, it was the opposite with me. My lil girl definitely has not gained more weight outside of me than what she would have if she were still inside of me. Babies have to do a lot more when they are outside of the womb...like feed, maintain their body heat, and breathe. The mother usually does all of this for them so when they are expected to do this on their own...they burn more calories...and these calories are no longer provided by mom, on demand. My theory is the longer inside the better...but that's just how I feel. July 11th should be close enough though. All babies...preemie or not, lose about 10% of their body weight after they a born in the first week.

candace3 - Wednesday, 25 June
Does the baby pass the all the NST's and all that? Do they have any idea why baby is so little....they don't with mine.

candace3 - Wednesday, 25 June
Are you doing the NST's and biophysical prophiles?

candace3 - Wednesday, 25 June
Hi...just wondering how small your baby is measuring....At 34 weeks mine was 4lb 8oz and 15-20th percentile. AT 36 weeks she was 4lb 15oz and 10th percentile.

Boopy - Wednesday, 25 June
That all sounds great. If everything checked out like that I'd say he's just fine...just a little baby.

Why do you have to get induced? Why can't you just let nature take it's course?? Perhaps he would get to 6 or 7 pounds by 40 weeks that way.

taysonrex - Wednesday, 25 June
good luck! keep me posted ... I always hoped for a 37 week baby, but I think I'll probably go longer than that. ; )

MelisaK - Tuesday, 24 June
Yay! I am glad he gained some weight! I am like you, my weight has been back and forth. I am so glad you got some good news!

newmommyj - Tuesday, 24 June

Hi. I was going to have an appt with WIC..but then I didnt make to it. But I appreciate your advice on Enfamil. I hear its quite good as well. Thanks again. ;o))))

carmendayle - Monday, 23 June
Oh ok that makes sense..lol I havent had one of those yet. My doctor did mention them to me that I"ll have them later on cause of meds I'm on. But we'll see if she has me do any. Well from what she said, theres really no big reason to worry, I know it doesnt stop ya, but at least she didnt say he'd have a serious illness or something. That would be my worry. Oh and yeah my doctor said I could be small if the baby's small, but she's not, and she did say that it could be if I was a small baby which I was???? Ya I'd love to hear from you tomorrow to see whats new. I'm glad there's nothing major to worry about. thats great, and I hope all goes well tomorrow. Have a great day hun...

carmendayle - Monday, 23 June
Whats nst mean? I see why you'd be scared too, and but has he explained why your baby could be small? If theres something wrong with him, or he's just behind alittle bit. See those would be my questions and my doctor barely answers questions for me if she does, it's as she's walking out the door, and it drives me absolutly nuts.....Have you looked it up on the computer, the symptoms I mean, to see what comes up? I don't want to make you worry more, just things that cross my mind when hearing of your sitation. But he's probably fine, I'll keep you and your baby in my prayers too....I'm hoping the best of luck to you, and keep in touch with me. Let me know if you find any new news out if you'd like. I'm really excited about this baby. She's really saved my life, and b/c it's my 1st, I'm trying to enjoy but unfortunatly, the worry is sometimes overwelming you know I'm sure...Hey it's been nice talking with you. Keep in touch hun...

ohmama - Monday, 23 June
Thanks so much for the information. I appreciate it! good luck to you...

carmendayle - Monday, 23 June
Thanks for your respond, and I'm sure everything is fine with both of us and our baby's but this is my 1st pregnancy and instead of explaining what could be the issue, she just sends me off...ugggggrrrr I get so irritated with her, but I know the baby's fine and as long as the u/s say the same for your baby, then neither of us should worry then right???? easier said then done but all's we can do is try. If you ever need to talk them I'm hear hun. Thanks again

carolynjh - Friday, 20 June
Oh, I'm so glad to hear everything is ok :) Hope you feel good too!

Boopy - Friday, 20 June
See...that's great news!!! Please keep me updated.

MelisaK - Thursday, 19 June
That is great news...hopefully it keeps that way!!!

Boopy - Wednesday, 18 June
Geez, they sound harsh. Maybe they should try carrying a baby....geez. I'm sure you are doing everything right. Hang in there...he will be fine. ;o) I'm a fan of little babies. ;o)

MelisaK - Wednesday, 18 June
Hey, I just read your post and I would be scared too. I will pray that he puts on lots of weight this next week! I heard a couple of other ladies talk about this a while back and their dr. told the to drink this drink to help the baby gain weight. I think it was ensure. Something to that effect, it was like pediasure only for adults. I will be thinking of you and your baby.

carolynjh - Tuesday, 17 June
Don't worry, at least he is growing, maybe he'll grow up to be a basketball player :) Sono could be off by a little, but even if he does have to be born soon, he should be just fine. Keep us posted and let us know if doc says there is anyway to help him gain weight?
