I'm so relieved at each appointment that everything is going smoothly:) My cervix was like 5cm, that is VERY good. I have two more ultra sounds at week 21 wks and 24 wks to make sure it's not shortening and then we'll be home free for a nice normal, hot summer pregnancy. I've now gained about 13 lbs (augh!!!) and am feeling T Jr. daily. Can't wait until he starts kicking just a bit harder so my 5 year old can really feel him. She talks to him and daily gives my belly hugs and kisses, it's so precious. Now if I could just know for sure that my job was secure and that we could sell our current house and get into a new one all before he arrives, stress levels would be non existant, but that's of course not pssible or realistic so I'll just roll with the punches:)

So I just got back from my 16 week ultra sound, my 5th in all so far. I was so anxious today for two reasons, 1) I had a late miscarriage at this stage with my first, so more than any other time I wanted everything to look "normal" today and it was; cervix is long and staying put for now;) (had incompetant cervix with my daughter) and 2) wanted to know what it was.....IT'S A BOY!!! You can see from the ultra sound above it looks pretty obvious. I just hope it's really the penis and not the umbilical cord; I'll have them double checking at my next one just to be for sure;) I've gained about 6-7 lbs which is just where I was with my daughter so right on track. Off to Florida we go now for some nice warm weather and relaxation.

SO FAR-2/4/08
So I'm into my 11th week. After bleeding for 3 days in my sixth week and being worried about miscarrying things finally seem to be calm. Since that week, I've had one ultra sound where it was confirmed the bleeding had stopped and baby and heart rate (in 170's) were good. Now I have another ultra sound tomorrow where my doctor will start the bi-weekly ultrasounds to measure my cervix (had incompetant cervix with my daughter and was on bed rest 17 weeks!!!) to make sure it is not shortening throughout these next 13 weeks. I just hope things keep being "uneventful" at my appointments and that I can have a nice normal pregnancy this time around.

I sure hope you're right and not the doctors. I'm big for as far as I am but not huge. Who knows. My husbands brother made all big babies so it might be in his genes but I don't want a 10lb baby or anything. Even 8 would be fine! LOL

your lucky to get another U/S so soon my doctor said my next one want be till my 37th week. IF I make it- for some reason I fill That I will have him a few weeks early. maybe because I was due wiht my daughter on Jan 20th had her on Jan 6th- Stared having Contratctions on Jan 1st.

That's funy I feel the same way. My baby is on the move - epecially after I eat or lay down; he is BUSY!! its fun to feel him, I even played with him the other day for about 15 min. I never had this happen with my daughter. He is also really low.

Boy do I understand this kinda hair... my daughter has simular hair, except her (my daughters') is alot tighter and thinker girl... IT'S A FIGHT WHEN IT'S TIME TO FIX HER HAIR :O( totaltrip - Monday, 5 May
thats good to know. this morning i was reading in bed and i felt movement in a whole different place! on my right side mid level! that was really cool. i could feel it on the outside well. too bad hubby was at work. my placenta is anterior so thats why the feeling is always ultra low or around the edges. pretty cool. finally getting used to this whole thing.

No they havent really talked about that yet, i guess one thing at a time, but my cervix isn't open anymore cause the stitiched it closed..and i will probably be having a c section anyway cause the baby has alot of fluid on the neck, so a c section is probably in my future..but hes at about a pound and a half aready, so i guess thats good if they decide to take him early..

Thanks for that info. I am an only child too and so is my husband, so this is the first grandchild for both of our sets of parents, so I am genuinely surprised that no one has said anything yet. I'll probably bug my mom and see if anyone has said anything to her.

Thanks for your comment! Its frustrating to see all the negative about the bottlefeeding. I think it is 100% a personal decision and that no one has the right to judge whatever the parents decide for feeding their baby. I am so not doing the boob feeding - no desire to at all. I would consider pumping, but I am also considering formula. I just know that the boob is not for me and that people need to get off their high horse - just because it is right for them doesn't make it right for everyone else~

sounds like your tech is not much of a talker. ask about those factors next time because they can tell you. they look at all that stuff. maybe you can even call the office and get the info over the phone.

Hello. Thanks for leaving me a comment. I love getting comments. lol ANyhoo, yeah i dunno why I've only gained 15 lbs so far but my sisters and mom was the same way with there first babies too. I never got morning sickness either so I dunno. I try and hit the gym everyday to maintain my weight so maybe that has something to do with it. But you dont look like you have anything to worry about YOURE GORGEOUS!!! Good luck on your little one. I am so ready to have mine and meet the little guy. We've been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years after almost 2 years of being married so finally after fertility drugs we got pregnant. YEAH! I am so glad I am having him in May. Everything happens for a reason and I am glad we didnt get pregnant til now becasue for one we bought a house last year, for two my husband just checked out of the marine corps, for three he graduates school next month, for four he owns his own business now and its going well so now I can be a stay at home mom, ect... I have a dr appt monday so I am hoping they tell me good news like I am dialating. I doubt I will be that early but I just want him out lol Anyways enough of my jibber jabber.
