hi! my name is jillian, i'm 24 and a recruiter from montgomery county, maryland. my fiance shawn and i are expecting our first little boy, aiden taylor shupert on september 29, 2008 (but we know he's going to come early! he's a big boy!)
this is aiden at 13 weeks. i was lucky enough to be able to have an ultrasound early, because i was in the hospital for a kidney infection.
21 weeks pregnant!! i was huge already!!

| What is the first thing you'll do after the baby is born?: | have a cigarette. JUST KIDDING. kiss him a give him lots of lovin'. |

Thanks Jillian. I'm keeping up with it and doing what I can. I spoke to our pediatrician about the trouble I've been having. She said that pumping every four hours would be enough. I tried it for a while, but now I'm back to every two hours. Now Greyson is getting about half formula, half breast milk with each bottle. I'm feeling better about things now. I'm just happy I'm able to give hime some of the nutrients that he needs. I hope things are going well with you!

I would for sure continue to breastfeed. Your baby is a lot better at getting the milk out than the pump is.

Hi, Fenugreek is herb, and is 100% safe for mom/baby. You may check with your pediatrician, and also here's some info - http://www.breastfeeding.com/all_about/all_about_fenugreek.html
You can buy Fenugreek in Vitamine Shoppe (if you have it close), or any natural food shop, or online. I'm paying around $5 for 100x610mg tablets bottle in Vitamine Shoppe, so it;s not so bad $$$. I was taking 10-12 tablets during 24hrs. Motherlove products are more pricy, but you may try, they may give you effect within 24-48hrs. Call them, they have wonderfull customer service. Look on their website for store locator, try small bottle first to see if it helps. If your breast was "reacting" during pregnancy - you really should try. I hope you were not diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. You'll do fine!! Let me know if I can help you with anything else. As for me I'll discontinue pumping, because its going nowhere. of course, I feel down emotionally, and I'll try to deal with depression without doctors and medications. I need to fight my excessive weight that I still have after delivery, so aerobics and diet should "clean" my mind! Good luck, I'll be praying for you.

No I didn't eat or drink anything special I just made sure that I kept on a strict schedule. Are you pumping after every time you breastfeed? I would just keep it up. What kind of breast pump are you using? That makes all the difference. Pump for at least 20 minutes and 5 minutes after your milk stops flowing.

Hi Jillian. My baby was born on Sept. 26th. My son has a problem with his tounge which prevents him from being able to breastfeed properly so I've decided to pump exclusively. I am also having the same problem as you. I am pumping every 2 hours for a half hour at a time and stuggling to get 1 ounce. I am finding myself frustrated and disappointed in myself. Please let me know if you try anything new and how it works. Thanks! And good luck! :)

I want to share my story with you, just because I've had sich a negative experience. First, is your breast enlarged during pregnancy? Is it al least one cup bigger then it used to be before pregnancy? If yes, then oatmeal, Fenugreek 610mg x 6 tabs daily, lot of fluids, Motherlove More Milk should help. Also you may try to rent hospital-grade pump, like Medela, for 2 weeks. If your breast is same size - be prepare to not get your milk supply. If you read my postings on this forum you'll see that I was fighting (and still fighting) for 1-1,5oz, my baby is 3 mo old now, I've tried EVERYTHING and nothing helped. I'm ready to give up. I hope you have just temporarly problems and I wish you good luck from my heart. It was very painful for me to realize that I can not breastfeed my baby, and I wish somebody could support me at that time. Contact me if anything I can help you.

I had a 10 lb baby too. She was shorter though only 20 in. Did you have a hard time with your delivery. My first baby was 9lb 3oz and I really had a hard time but with my 10 pounder it wasn't so bad. but she was my 3rd. Congrats and good job!

I didn't start pumping until Aliyah was around 3 or 4 weeks old. I think. When I first started pumping I was getting probably 3 to 4 oz per pump. I started out pumping every 2 hours and getting up at night too. Then I went to every three and have recently started every 4. I don't pump at night at all anymore. I would suggest only breastfeeding until the baby is at least 6 weeks old if you can. Good luck and if you need any advice just ask I will be glad to help.

I was honored and blessed to have been able to meet me guardian angel before she had to go back home, there is not a minute that goes by that I don't think of her. I miss her so much.
