Monday, 18 August I am a teacher too and went back to work after having my first (admittedly she was 6 months old so maybe easier?) I found it hard, but teaching is fun and keeps you busy so the days fly by and then you are home again with your little one :) phonics -
Saturday, 2 August Where do you get the swaddle blankets with the velcro? babygal187 -
Friday, 25 July Make sure his boy parts are pointing down. They tend to pee right out the diaper if they are not pointing down into the diaper. sunshine78 -
Friday, 25 July with boys you need to make sure his "winky" is pointed down toward his "peanuts" when putting on a diaper. if its pointing up toward his belly he will leak. i have found that luvs is the best with my 2 boys. mommastetson -
Friday, 25 July i think newborn size diapers go up to 10 lbs. You might have started the size 1 diapers too soon? Just a thought. BabyBennett -
Friday, 25 July I had planned to breast feed, but my milk never really came in. Anna lost 10% of her body weight, and I tried a couple of drugs to increase my milk supply, but it never happened. I'm still pumping as much as I can and giving that to her with the formula and it just happens that it's 50/50 right now. In fact tomorrow I think we'll drop to 25/75 as she's beginning to eat more than I can produce at that ratio! So, no, it's not really to help her sleep or stay full, but I have noticed that she is sleeping longer between feedings (a full three hours at this ratio during the day and at least one five hour stretch at night). I could just switch to formula, but I'd like to give her as much of my milk with all the antibodies in there that I can. shannon74 -

Thursday, 3 April I have always heard that when you can to prop your feet up. If you're laying in bed, prop them up so that the blood seems to be going down to your heart MelisaK -
Thursday, 3 April The only thing I know to do for swelling is to prop your feet up. You can also cut down on your salt intake. 3sugarbears -
Saturday, 15 Mar HI- I asked my doctor about painting while being pregnant bc we are wanting to repaint our living room and the doctor told me as long as it was well ventalated then I'd be fine. That was all she said, she didn't mention types of paint to avoid or anything. So I think you'll be fine. We are going to wait until a nice day in Spring and open up all the windows in the house and then paint. Good Luck! And Congrats! savvysmom05 -
Saturday, 15 Mar Hey I just wanted to let you know that I recently painted my bedroom, because the baby will be in there with us at the beginning and I just used one of those mask. It is pretty thick and has a little ventilation thing. I had to take breaks from wearing it because I felt like I couldn't breath after some time and it gets tight. They have different kinds so you should read the package to make sure it is strong enough to block out paint fumes. I bought mine at Walmart which I think was around $7 or $8. I hope this helps and congrats on your little baby. MooMommy -
Saturday, 15 Mar Hey....I have heard that it is not safe...but I got a mask from Home Depot and I painted. My mother helped and she said with both me and my sister she painted the rooms and we turned out fine LOL. I just kept the windows opened, the mask on and Away I painted....I'm not a person who can just sit out and direct other people....I like to get my hands dirty!! littlemissi -
Saturday, 15 Mar Jjrooks- No. It is not safe. I work with 5 different doctors, who all told me not to paint, or go into the babies room until it was completely dried and aired out. I hear that if you get a water based paint the fumes aren't as toxic, but latex based paints last longer. I had my husband paint the room. And I painted the closet doors - outside - with gloves!
