My profile

I know that I am late getting to this lol, I was late this time last year when I was pregnant with my first. Its been a crazy, hectic and amazing first year with my son and I can't believe that I am right around the corner to giving birth to my second. My first is named Aidan Luther Taylor. The new baby is going to be named Zachary Sebastian Taylor. (I know, that's a lot of name for a little baby right??) But I like it and his father likes it, as he should since he picked it out. :-) I love this website because I think it is awesome for us pregnant women to be able to talk to others and be able to compare notes on all the changes that are taking place within our bodies. Even those of us who are having our second, third, fourth or who knows how many children, each pregnancy is truly different and things that we experienced in the first we don't in the following, and find ourselves trekking in new territory. I love that we can talk to other women who are walking the same steps at the same time.

I don't get a lot of time online these days like I did when I was pregnant with my son. That little guy keeps me hopping and guessing all the time. He did that before he even came into the world. I thought for sure that I would be able to have a relatively normal labor and delivery and it was anything but. My son has been stubborn from the start! lol. I was in labor with my first for 48 hours and ended up having to have a c-section in the end. He was 9lbs 13.9 oz and was 24 inches long when he was born. The doctors were amazed at his size. They weren't NEARLY as amazed as I am and that I was able to have someone so large inside of my body. There was no way he was coming out on his own. I only dilated to 5cm and that was it. He never even decended into my pelvis because he couldn't fit. A lot of people ask me if I had GD but it wasn't the case. Big babies run in our family and I Am hoping that Zachary doesn't put me down the same road as his bigger brother. I wanted to try for a VBAC but the further along I get, the more scared I am getting of trying, especially with getting pregnant only 3 months after the birth of my son. So if any of you ladies out there have gone through the same route and have any advice for me.... please let me know!! I am all ears.

Anyways... I do tend to go on once I get started. I should have been a novelist! I will wrap this up for now. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I am pretty much an open book. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!

Try the flashlight :) I would google posterior baby and turning and see what you find. I think you are also supposed to do this knee to chest postion but I don't know how comfortable that might be....

tamcleod - Friday, 22 August
My daughter is in the sunny side up position too.........has been like that for over 2 months now. My doctor is going to iduce me at 38 weeks. I asked yesterday about how to turn the baby naturally..........someone said to shine a flashlight at the babies face would make them look away and I think there is a website www.spinningbabies.com.............but it sounds like you are already on your way with labor so I don't know if you have time to turn your baby, good luck!

Sounds like you are getting ready--go for long walks! Do some squats. You have had your bloody show. Good luck!

I wonder who it was? I hadn't heard about it with my first. I'm hoping it will help with my recovery from this c-section because I bled for a very long time and had complications so we will see.

Did you say that you were drinking raspberry tea too even though you are having a c-section? I was trying to find who said it because I'm doing the same thing. Although it is not going to help with the actual labor, it is supposed to help with our recovery.

Thanks for commenting and helping me out I went to the dr they said it wasnt my water but they didnt say what it was so I dont know my normal prenatal appt is thurs so I'll ask them then! but until then I am still waiting....

Oh, good, I'm glad you are getting a c-section! I would rather do that than have all the back labor and push a baby out face up! Hope you get feeling better....

jb1mama - Monday, 18 August
I read your message on week 36 about sex working! I have read about that so my husband and i tried on Saturday night.... and today i have been having sharp pains really low so i'm hoping thats from him moving down even lower. Last tuesday at my appt i was 1cm so i am hoping something has changed when i go tomorrow! I was just glad to read about your post and hear it worked!

Judesmama - Monday, 18 August
Oh my! Can you opt for a c-section? I've heard it's very painful to deliver that way! Are you having a very big baby?

Judesmama - Monday, 18 August
LOL...I had to say it. You are lucky to still be able to be on top. I have SPD and have been on bed rest since week 29. It KILLS me!!! If I were on top I think I would die right then and there

I will pray that today is the day for you! It is frustrating to go in with false labor and general pains. Sounds like you are really having trouble, maybe it will be back labor for you! Good luck and let me know what happens!

I hear you on the breastfeeding debate. I was involved in that one, because there were a couple of ladies who were trying to make women feel really bad for not nursing. It's just so ignorant, and frankly none of their business! I nursed all 4 of mine, but I am not a good producer so my babies didn't grow very well and I ended up putting them on formula. It is what it is! I'm not even going to try to nurse with this one, and THAT IS OK!!!! My mom nursed all 4 of her babies. I don't have an axe to grind with women who bottle feed, but some women sure do, don't they?

tandiann - Monday, 18 August
Ha ha ha! My son tells me the other day that he can't get his little arms around me to give me hugs cuz I am too big. I'm thinking 'thanks buddy, that is just what I wanna hear.' And I still can't figure out who thinks its nice to tell someone that they look like they are about to pop when we have a month left. I get that I'm big but aren't you supposed to be when you're carrying a child? I think she is starting to drop cuz I am feeling more pressure on my pelvic bone and now getting the softball in the groin feeling. Man, if you are 9 months prego and have an 11 month old, you got pregnant when your little guy was 2 months old?! That is crazy. You didn't even get to feel normal again and bam! you started all over again. As for the t-shirt thing, a lady had posted that she saw one that said 'keep staring, I might do a trick'. I want one that is like a score board that I can change to show how many days until I am due. That way when I go out people will be less likely to say stupid things. But they will probably not see it and say it anyhow. DH says I seem depressed but I asked him how he would like to be me for a week. He dropped it. I can see where what we are feeling could seem like depression but I am happy, excited and bubbly most of the time. BUT I am also tired, hormanal, achy and just generally worn out by this phase of life. So I call it like it is, a phase. And don't worry about long messages, I can be long winded as well. haha. And everyday is better cuz it is one less day I have to endure. And you too. Granted, your days are more exhausting with your other baby, so I am sure you will be even more grateful to be done. And take full advantage of the hospital stay, It is the best vacation ever!

Judesmama - Sunday, 17 August
Oh, yes...some people are very uppity about THEIR way being the ONLY way and if you don't agree, you just aren't a good mom. Such things have been said, and it's terrible! I'm laid back, as well...others, not so much

There have been times, though, when I have been very frustrated with some women! For instance, one girl who is due any day, asked for advice. REMEMBER....SHE ASKED!!! She left her little boy in the care of her drug abusing cocaine boyfriend. She knew he had a drug problem, and was mad when she found out he had been high while he was watching her little boy. She wanted to know what she should do about it. So I told her the truth....that I didn't know what she could be thinking doing something like that, and why was she with the guy in the first place???? I told her that Social Services could take her child for that, and that her boyfriend could kill her child in a drug frenzy. WELL...you should have heard the backlash I got from that! Everybody thought I should have been "NICE" and offered "HUGS". Hey, you come on here asking for advice, you're gonna get it...at least from me. I don't mince words, I will tell you straight up what I think. She knew very well that she was wrong for what she did, THAT is why she was asking...she wanted to hear that it was OK. It was not OK. Needless to say, she stayed with him.
