Monday, 12 May I have PCOS. I started clomid last summer. I took a few rounds of it..... and nothin!, so the dr. put me on metaformin as well. When I first started taking it, I was supposed to take 2 tablets a day , but I was sooo sick. So I dropped down to 1 tablet for the first two weeks, then started taking it 2 tabs a day. they also put me on a low carb diet as well. and told me to excersize. The first month with all of that. the clomid, the diet, the metaformin, and being active. I was pregnant. the metaformin sucked, and i took to for 12 weeks into the pregancy, b/c is lessens the chance of miscarraige, as aposed to going off of it right away.
anyway, it worked, and now i"m 34 weeks, only 6 weeks to go, and it was worth all the feeling sick in the beginning for the metaformin. :)
good luck to you! jmckenzie -

Wednesday, 7 May Lots of baby dust to you! I also have PCOS and I started taking Metformin last month. The first couple weeks were horrible I was in a lot of pain and food went right through me. I started taking it at night so I would sleep through a little bit of the symptoms. One day I woke up and they were gone... completely gone. I have been fine ever since. It does get better and it will happen within a couple weeks. I also started clomid this month and I just got a positive OPK yesterday. It was really late in my Cycle though, I am suppose to start my period in two days. I hope this helps and make sure you are watching for all the sigs of ovulation. One day I ovulated on my own (rarely happens) and I was on CD 14 and this time with clomid I ovulated on CD 26. cherriblossom -

Wednesday, 7 May I also have PCOS and am currently on metformin and chlomid together. I started the metformin one month prior to starting the chlomid and it made me very sick to my stomach. My body just got used to it and I forced myself to eat better all of the time and that seemed to help. I take 500mg 3 times a day. 150mg of chlomid this month and I go to the dr on the 13th for a progesterone test and the week after I will get the results to see if I even ovulated. So we will see.
Good luck to you and keep me updated. Baby dust to you! cherriblossom -
Tuesday, 6 May I have been on metformin on and off for a few years and have got pregnant twice with it and no fertility meds. I have had some upset stomach but not to to bad. It just takes time for your system to get used to it. I take 2000 mg a day and I split that into 2 doses, that seems to help alot.
Liz
