Today I went to see the doctor for so upper abdominal pain... probably a liver or gallbladder problem (Just what I needed... on my first day NOT feeling queasy!). I did get to hear the baby's cute little heart beat for the first time. Since my husband wasnt with me, I asked the doctor if we could wait til Brian could be there, so we're gonna do it again on Friday (They are doing an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder on Friday). So I am denying that I actually heart the heartbeat until I hear it with my wonderful husband!

Today we had another appointment. So far so good. At this point I have gained 10 pounds. Thats exciting.... I guess. We got to listen to that little heartbeat again which sounds a lot stronger and louder than it did last time. The doctor had no trouble finding it. We also scheduled our next ultrasound... we have to wait until April 18 to find out the gender of our baby. That sounds like such a long time! By then I will be 21 weeks. I guess its just disappointing becuase it sounds like so many people are finding this out now (17 weeks). So boo for that, but Im sure the next month will fly by just like the last 4.

28 weeks: I had my blood glucose test today... with everyone talking about the "orange drink" I was surprised to have a drink very similar to Sprite - very sweet lemon lime soda. It wasnt too bad, but I have had problems with soda upsetting my stomach since week 12. Oh well. I survived, but wont get the results from my doc until June 24. My uterus is currently measuring 26 cm at the fundus and my blood pressure and baby's heart beat are all good. I finally had a month where I only gained 3 pounds!! Hooray!! That is much better than the 8 I gained last month.

The doc says I should expect to have an ultrasound at 32 weeks and 36 weeks to check the baby's size and position. Getting closer

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi,
I had the prostaglandin gel put in this am at about 9:00. I was still only a fingertip dilated and cervix was still long before they put it in. Then I stayed at the hospital for about 1/2 hr. Then they sent me home. I have to go back down at 4:00 pm (its 1:30 now) for a second gel. Then tomorrow morning I will go in for admission and start the pitocin. I was hoping to start labor with the gel. They told me that the gel is only to "ripen" the cervix and get it ready for the induction tomorrow. So I don't know. I probably will end up having an eppi. I don't want to, but I don't want my blood pressure to go up from the pain. I am afraid of what you described after the eppi because my sister in law had those issues when it wore off too. Well I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for all the info.

I'm feeling much better since I started taking Keflex (antibiotic) two days ago. Thank you very much! The only thing I hate is the smell in your throat that it gives you. I also worry a little bit about breastfeeding while taking it, even though doctor said it's ok. Is that what they prescribed you when you had it? I hope you feel better now!

Your baby is too cute! And look at the dimples. I know my son is going to have dimples too. We saw it on the 4-d scan. Congrats. I can't wait until I get to that point. 7 days left.

Hey,
Thanks for the heads up. I am not sure if that's what they're using. My paperwork says they use prostaglandin gel. Is that the same thing? I am a little nervous about being induced period just because I am a heavy woman and have the gestational diabetes and at one point had hypertension. I have the diabetes and hypertension under control now and am just praying that the blood pressure stays down during labor. I didn't want an epidural, but might have to because I don't want blood pressure sky rocketing. Did you have any side effects with the epidural?

Hey there! She is very much a sweetie. She has her crabby times, of course :). I can't wait till she is sleeping for more than 3 hours at night. She was born at 6lbs 2oz and is only past the 7 lbs mark now. We have to have her keep gaining weight and eating at every craving she has. With how huge i was i can't believe we had such a tiny baby! My Dr is also surprised- she was guessing that we'd have at least a 8 pounder. How is your little one. She is very cute and has such a precious dimple! What's her name? Email me back at caitlynrose@hotmail.com. ~Talk to you then! Caitlyn

I finally did research on colic and mastitis and I'm so glad that I did. What I found on this web-site surprised me. www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2005/mar/30/familyandrelationships.healthandwellbeing
I hope it helps you. I feel like I was starting to get a clogged milk duct again. Now that I read that article I hope that it stops there.

About the chiropractors not sure. My husbands co-worker said she knows how to do it. Maybe she will show him and we can do it at home. I totally understand about affording daycare. The only reason I'm going back is so my older children can stay in private christian school that I work at. Since Lillian was barely over a week I helped my aunt out at her shop so I could pay for their school, but lily goes with me and it is easy, fun work. If it wasn't for the fact that I get a good discount at their school I would quit there and just work for my aunt and be able to take my baby. My MIL is watching her which I totally trust but she lives in the ghetto. I understand were you are coming from no one takes better care of your baby like you do. I hope you have a great day and try not to stress it. God will work it out.

I haven't really researched any thing that might link colic to mastitis. But I did see on a web site that taking the baby to the chiropractor helps. My husband was talking about her having colic and one of his co-workers actually mentioned going and said it helped her child. I go back to work in 2 weeks I hope I can actually pump, hard to do when she wants to nurse all the time. She turned a month yesterday. Colic can last 3 to 4 months. I think I'll the chiropractor.
