Hi my name is Jo and I live in Vancouver with my husband Chris. 3 months after a miscarriage in September of 2007, I found out I was pregnant - 3 weeks 2 days. I was exhausted, famished and a little nauseous. At 6.5 weeks a change in my symptoms led me to have an ultrasound where we found out I was pregnant with TWINS! I was so excited as I had always wanted one pregnancy of twins - I would kid around all the time that I would have my boy and girl in one shot. However the happiness was shortlived, as one of the them had a slow heart beat at 6.5 weeks then even slower at 7.5. At an ultrasound at 13 weeks we were told that there was one healthy fetus and an empty sac; that the 2nd one did not make it and was being 'absorbed' - Vanshing twin sydrome is what they call it. I was pretty sad, and happy at the same time. I still had a baby, but there was still a loss there.

I was pretty plagued with nausea and it took until about 18 weeks to get over the 'gross nausea' part, but even at 25 weeks I have moments when I think I'm going to puke.

At our 24 week ultrasound we found out we are having a girl! We have named her Cadence. It took up to about 21-22 weeks before I could feel her kicks and movement, but now that I can she sure doesn't sleep much!

Through the nausea, worry etc... I still am thankful everyday that I get to have a baby!!!! It's all worth it to me and I can't wait to do it again! Everyday I am so thankful that she is in there growing and I just cannot wait to meet her! Pregnancy has it's pains and discomforts but to me it's all worth it! I love being pregnant and I love my little girl!!!

I'm really happy to have found this site - I think I'm addicted. I check it 2-3 times a day. I work from home most of the time so it makes it more tempting to get on here. Thank you too for all your posts, I love hearing what everyone else is up to and knowing other people are feeling what I am.

Heard the heartbeat today, yippee! Now I feel better about going for my ultrasound on the 21st. We have to pay $500 for the testing and I don `t want to pay to just get bad news! Was happy to find out I `m not hypothyroid, just a teeny hyper. Go for more bloodwork next week to check thyroid again as well as part of the Early Trimester Screening. I am sooo looking forward to 2 weeks from now after all the tests and the 1st trimester!

Had Ultrasound today. Baby is 13 weeks 1 day! Risks for chromosonal problems are very low! Only one baby, the twin did not make it. We are still very happy to be having one healthy baby and do be 13 weeks!!! sigh!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

It's a girl!!! yippee! Cadence Sylvia!

July 15, 2008

Had another ultrasound last week at 33 weeks - they estimate she is 5lbs 7oz already! big girl! I wonder what she will be by birth!???/ things are still going well. I'm starting to feel the 'weight' of it all in my knees and look pretty funny when I bend to pick something up and can't get up. Almost had to ask someone at the drug store to help me yesterday LOL! All in all I think I'm pretty lucky, no major aches and pains other than a lot of water retention. Definitely looking forward to meeting her!

No stretch marks? Okay, that makes me sick!! LOL I think about gaining or losing wt and I get them....I have just decided not to stress about them and just deal with it. Its funny that hubby got a call today, because we were pricing airfare to Edmonton. His union said they were looking for carpenters...problem was that it was for Canadian wages, which he thinks is much lower. Okay, so I cant keep up with you..now you want a boy?? LMAO

I feel like a cow the past couple of weeks even though I think I am still at a 5-6 lb weight gain...looking more preggo rather than fat. WOW...thats a big boy....ouch! Is your sis ok after that? just found out my dad was 12 lbs...and my grandma gave birth at home....I have a new found respect for her!! My little princess is also getting quite active...its so cool..I was leaning against hubby in bed, kind of like spooning, and he is convinced he felt her kick him in the bottom....Probably telling him to move over!!! Thank God hubby just got a call for a job that should last at least a couple of weeks...maybe more..fingers crossed!!! I cant wait to hear what your ultrasound showed!!!! "Girl...girl....girl!!!!!!!!!"

ya pushing was the worst for me. I did it without any drugs and I dont know if I could do it again. I was traumatized for a good 2-3 months afterwards. Hows the baby doing? is he home now? are you delivering at the same hospital? Its exciting, isnt it? to see all the cute little baby stuff being used. They sleep most of the time anyways now so they only wear pj's lol. Thats shitty about the video, I dont know why people feel the need to enforce their opinion on others. I'm glad someone took it down.

jobean I just read your post about the video. Thats bloody awful, I can't believe it still happens (I get that some locations need it for sanitary reasons - and each to their own re religion) but why on earth did someone feel compelled to put a live video of the act on your page??? I'd report it (the site managers must have an audit log on the website to track this kind of thing)!! Thanks for the warning :)

Hey Auntie!! Congrats to you and your sister. Wow that is one big baby to come out-LOL! I hope for your sake yours aren't that big! My bro was 9 lb 12 oz and I was 9 lb 10 oz but we were both born via c-section so my mom never had to deal with the size issue. I got no epidural with Brody (sucked back 3 tanks of gas though) so I know what its like without but he was only 7 lb 4 oz so I realy can't imagine. I hope your are feeling well. I am seriously starting to think I am splitting in 2 already. I don't think I have ever been this uncomfortable in my life and I am really scared at the fact I have 3+ more months to go - LOL! My doc told me to get uncomfortably as comfortable as I can as its only getting worse - OMG! I feel like I am 9 months already...Take it easy proud Auntie!

Hey I am all for someone else having a different opinion than my own, BUT , don't jamm it down my throat. Your mom is opposed to it? I have to say, its hard enough to have a young boy take a shower and brush his teeth let alone have him clean his pee pee properly. And if they are prone to infection they will have to get it done at an age where it will be memorable and probably traumatizing...LOL

busybeemom - Wednesday, 30 April
I bet people freaked...LOL...It was BAD!

busybeemom - Wednesday, 30 April
You go Mama! LOL

busybeemom - Wednesday, 30 April
Was the video taken off your page? It was mine...

OMG!! I hate people like that... Its as bad as jehovah witnesses coming to your door... I would report that person if I were you. I decided I am going have the talk when I am in labor so he cant refuse me..LOL

I dont know........LOL.......I dont know if the pain I had with Maya could be "laughed off". I needed DRUGS but I would be willing to try something different if this delivery was going better so I will definitely ask. Its too bad cause I was just at the doctors yesterday. How are you doing? When is your next US? I'm going on Thursday, I'm so excited. By the way, did you hear about the Health Canada recall on almost everything? ToysRUs took the initiative to accept everything back so in a panic I gathered all my things on Sunday night and waited at the door for them to order and returned over 600$ worth of stuff (Dr.Brown bottles, Avent and Gerber pacifiers, Nuby and Gerber sippy cups) basically everything and anything you can think of is on their recall list from almost every company except for Medela. Now I have nothing left except for a few Dr.Browns glass bottles and some 'safe' pacifiers. I have to go back today and see if they received the new shipment of BPA free sippy cups. Its insane but glad they are doing it and keeping us safer. My SIL is going back tonight to return everything, its very scary!!

Congrats Auntie Jo! How was it, watching the birth? I bet you cried! Awww I def would have bawled, seeing a little cute tiny screaming person emerge into the world. I bet it was good mental prep for you too!

shirley and maya - Tuesday, 29 April
Hey! congrats on being an auntie again! I was asking about you on Sunday. I figured she should have given birth by now! Very sweet. I wonder if they do laughing gas in Montreal. I never heard of that before except from Heti and I thought it might have been a UK thing.

myfirst=baby - Tuesday, 29 April
