Wednesday, 14 May yeah same here about the dark wood, we have dark wood all over the house and I figured going with white for the nursery would set it apart and also make it look really bright and lighter. sweetpeaz -

Tuesday, 13 May Hey I was reading your comment about not knowing how to decorate the nursery. I don't own my own home so unfortunately can't redecorate :( I'm buying dark wood, I have the crib and it's gorgeous. michelles -
Tuesday, 13 May Hi, i had a dilemma about the nursery as well. I didn't want a theme and it seemed like everything was theme based. I spent tons of time of the internet and decided on white furniture with splashes of yellow and navy and white stripes. I figured the yellow could go either way, if it was a girl I would have done yellow with a green polka dot and stripes. but it is a boy so I decided on the navy and white with pops of yellow. I had an old bookcases that I painted white and then painted the inside (the back wall of it) yellow so that it pops out and is still subtle since yellow is such a bright color. it gives a nice contrast to the navy and crisp white furniture. then everything else is kind of beachy, straw baskets in the bookshelves for extra storage, some cute fish knobs for the dresser that I found on ebay at sonoma cabinet hardware's ebay store. a bright colored fish mobile, big conch shells on the shelves and a palm tree type plant in the corner (that I am sure I will have to move once he's crawling and getting curious). we live in california by the beach so the beachy stuff kind of ties in, it's kind of a theme but not 'themey'. just coastal stuff with classic colors. don't know if that helps or gives you any ideas, I know that I was stuck for so long. if I wasn't so far into this one one theme that I love that I am seeing is the safari stuff that pottery barn has and wendy bellismo also has a version of it. it's really cute and neutral so it could go either way. good luck and have fun decorating!!!
