My profile
Ok ladies. I am a single dad to be in July. The BM and I split up or 'kicked me out' on Jan 29 of this year. We were engadged, things were good. She stoped calling me and wouldn't answer the phone. I went and talked to an attorney and she said to try and handle it out side of court. So I persisted to contact my ex. Scard and confused about the future and our child. She had only gone to the dr. once. The next thing I know I am work and I get served by a process sever. It was for a harrasment restraining order. So I went to a diffrent Attorneys office angry and confused as to why she would do this. I hadn't seen her since she asked me to leave and we live 2 hours apart. So I told my family of the matter and my dad flew all the way up from Florida just for the hearing. So there would be support for me. We 'meaning my attorney and I tried to stipulate to the injunction, but to allow Family court to modify it. My Ex would have no part in that. But the judge granted it anyway. I cried for 2 days after that, the women that I loved and has our child growing inside her, dosen't want to have anything to do with me for 4 years!!! I know we can't be together but we have to raise a child for 18 years and longer together. That was a tough pill to swallow. So I took her to court for some things that she didn't return to me, so yeah in the mean time, I took my Attorneys advice and went to a six week parenting class, by my self and that sucked...All I could think about was her and our child and how I wondered how everything was going. So, I retained my attorney for family court. My Attorney, filled a consent for paterinty hearing, to go before family court to modify the injunction. So there might be hope for me to be there the day the childs born. You know if I didn't persue this, she didn't even have to tell me when the child was born! unbeliveable. and never the less my attorney told me that I will be able to visit anytime to be able to bond with the child. After my Ex is off maternity leave, I am getting a place close to her, so we can maybe share placement. Honestly all I want is half, half the cost half responsibility, and all the love in the world to give my child. Also I don't think it's fair that she won't give the child my last name, considering her 8 year old daughter has her fathers last name and there not together. So I came up with a plan and tell me if I am crazy or not...??? I am going to give my ex a choice, to either hyphen her last name with mine for the child or I'll take her last name before mine. So yeah...my mom laughed when I told her that and she thought that was a good Idea...Well 7800 dollars spent already on attorney fees. I wish we could just be friends but that's not possible I guess. Well ladies tell me if I am crazy or not?!?! I honestly want to just be the best father I can be and always be there for my child no matter how my ex feels about it...thanks for reading...
