This is going to be my second child. I am so excited about having another baby. My first child, Amelia, is now 3 1/2 years old. She is such a big girl now. I look forward to all the help she can offer with her little brother or sister. She is really rooting for a baby sister. She has alreay decided her name will be Olivia Claire. If it is a boy, we may name him Cayden. I haven't really heard that name before. I stummbled upon it at the babycenter.com name list. I don't know anyone named Cayden actually. I really like it.
I've been told by some friends that Cayden is a girls name. I thought it was a boys name. I guess it could go either way. I don't really like that idea. I'm going to have to start thinking of something else. It does sound kind of girly to me now too.
Week 8
At yesterdays appointment, I got to see my little beans heart beating at 152 bpm. Everything is going great so far minus a few aches and pains that my doctor says comes along with having your second child. I return again on the 27th for a check up and a complete ultrasound.
Week 11
Everything went great at my ultrasound. Amelia, my three and a half year old, was amazed. The baby was jumping all around in there. I am surprised I couldn't feel him pushing off in there. It looked like he was trying to do flip turns and swim laps across my uterus! The picture didn't come out so great. Amelia was proud of it though. She carried it around with her to show everyone in the dr.'s office her baby. It was sooooo cute. My due date is September 14th. I'm certain this baby will come along sooner though. Amelia was two weeks early so I believe, this baby will be born around the 1st of September. Today, February 29th, I am exactly 11 weeks and 5 days.

Today, March 9th, is the first day of my second trimester. It feels good to be over the first trimester hump! Yippeee!
Week 15
I'm 15 weeks and 3 days today. I had a regular appoinment today and got to hear my babys heart beat. It was 149 bpm. I weighed 138 pounds. I haven't gained any weight so far because I lost a pound last month and gained a pound this month. Everything seems great though. I have an appointment on April 4th with another Dr. who is a specialist with blood types. I have an antigen called a Kells antigen which can affect the baby just like Rho. I had no problems with my first child but, my Dr's want to be on the safe side and h ave everything checked out. I think they'll do a 3-D Scan. I hope they do. That will be cool. I never had the opportunity to do that with my first pregnancy.
We've come up with two more names that we both like very much for a boy. Gabriel Joshua Hart and Landon Joshua Hart. Gabriel's nickname would be Gabe. Gabriel means God is my Strength and Joshua mean God is my salvation. I like this name the best so far. It is a really strong sounding name. Josh is hooked on Landon. It means from the Long Hill. I guess it really doesn't matter what the names mean as long as you like the way they sound. I like both but, I'm leaning tworad Gabe. We'll see what the votes bring on babynames.com I guess.
Week 16
Everything seemed to go great at the Ultrasound yesterday. We got to see our baby for a long time. She was all curled up in a little ball. Oh yeah! Most importantly, she is healthy and we found out she's a she! She weighs 6 oz. so far which is normal size for this stage in Pregnancy (16weeks and 5 days). We got a bunch of us photos to take home with us. Some are really good.

Above is a great profile shot!

Here is her arm and hand shot.

Check out her cute little toes!
Week 17
We got the call back from Dr. Wagner's office this morning. Josh's blood tested negative for the Kells antigen. We expected that since it was negative when we had Amelia! It still had us worried a little bit. It would be a very serious and dangerous matter if Josh had tested positive. The baby may have even needed intra-uterine bood transfusions and testing. That does not sound fun at all to me.
Wednesday (17wk3dys) I felt Olivia kicking finally! It was about 3am. Amelia had woken up from a bad dream and once i got her settled down and had slipped back into bed, Olivia kicked two good hard kicks twice! It's Friday now and I haven't felt a kick like that again. I'm waiting though and so is Amelia! She wants to feel her little sister moving around in my belly.
Week 19
Yesterday I had another Ultrasound. Olivia is progressing just fine. She is a healthy little girl! All tests have been normal so far. I gained 4 pounds total so far. They just stacked on over the past two weeks. I better start watching what I eat! I don't want to gain too fast. I had better start eating more fruit at night when I am craving something sweet and lay off the ice cream.
Week 20
Well, I have offically reached the halfway point. What seemed to be moving along so slowly before is now going by so fast. My belly is getting bigger and so is my appetite. I can not lay off the ice cream. It is a must have at night. I've decided to buy the no sugar added type. That should cut back a few unneeded calories.
Everything is going just great. I can feel my little Olive kicking around nearly every time I lay down. It is so reassuring to feel her moving around in there!
Week 21
My hubby and I have been doing a lot of work preparing to move into a house we recently bought. We have been scrubbing, painting, plastering, laying tile, stripping wallpaper, fencing for horses and landscaping. I am exhuasted and need a vacation. Saturday, we will be getting our pool opened up. Yippie! I can't wait to be able to take the plunge! All of our hard work will be so worth it in the end. My ankles have been swelling a little in the evening. I think it is from all the standing and painting. By morning they are back to normal though.
