Hi! I'm 42, and feel a little old to be pregnant again. I already have 5 beautiful kids, but very excited about the new addition on the way.

May 8th: Found out Baby is a girl! and the scan showed that she's healthy and developing well. No problems they could see. It's such a relief! And although I was telling myself I didn't mind what gender Baby is, I'm SO HAPPY she's a little girl! So are the other children. :) Also relieved that all development appears to be normal, as they say the risks of problems are so high for a mother my age.

May 19th: Still going well. Some days I feel like September may never come; other times the days and weeks just disappear. We're thinking of naming our little angel "Penny".

Pregnancy Survey
Will the baby have any siblings? How many?:yes, 3 brothers and 2 sisters
Have you bought any baby things yet? pram, clothes, diapers, cradle, sling, bouncer
What brand of diapers will you use?:cloth
Formula or Breastfeeding?:breastfeeding
Any days where you wish you weren't pregnant?:no
Are you doing anything that makes you feel guilty?:no
Have you had any alcoholic drink during your pregnancy? If yes, how much?:no!
Is there any one to help you with the baby after its born?:Hubby, other kids!
What is the one thing you miss doing since you've gotten pregnant?:drinking diet cola, eating rare meat, tabouleh salad and runny eggs
What is the first thing you'll do after the baby is born?:breathe a sigh of relief!
Is the Daddy taking Paternity leave?:no
What's the one thing you hate about being pregnant?:leg cramps, varicose veins, backaches ...
Do you regret getting pregnant?:no.
Are you going to have any more kids after this? If yes, how many?:Ha - no, 6 is definitely plenty
Are you and the baby's daddy married?:yep, 18 years and counting...
Are you getting the epidural?:no
Have you had any Braxton Hicks yet?:mild
Are you ready for the baby to come out?:oh yeah...

June 6th:
Passed the 23 week mark, at last - it's finally June... Nice to know little Penny is basically a viable baby now, and she sure is strong. She also seems able to kick simultaneously in my stomach and bladder and kidneys - guess she's getting big! Sometimes seems to be trying to break out through by belly. I'm enjoying getting little baby clothes together and wraps etc. Be lovely when she's finally born! But in the meantime, the days are clicking by steadily. I'm fairly comfortable, all things considered. Had one scary dizzy spell a week or so back, and the varicose veins and calf cramps and backaches are a nuisance, but I get occasional bursts of energy and clean the house or do some gardening. Still enjoy riding by bicycle into town almost every day.

June 19th: Still going well, although my leg cramps are worse and my back hurts if I'm up and about for too long. Mostly fine, though. Scheduled for the gestational diabetes test the week of the 7th July, before my 28 week antenatal. Penny seems strong and active. I'm very content : )

July 2nd: Wow, 27 weeks and into the third trimester. Baby seems more and more real and I just love all her kicks and squirms. So far still not too uncomfortable, but the bike rides are getting more difficult!

Wow you have been all over the world. That is really interesting. Some day I hope to move to a different country to experience the different cultures and ways of life. Australia sounds really nice. How is the weather there?

You are absolutely right! I am Indian, however I live in America (USA). I envy you with it being your 6th child! God Bless you! Good Luck on the Little Girl. When I found out that I was having a Boy I was very excited, but am already missing having a littel girl. I guess I wished I could have had both at the same time! :) Thanks for agreeing with me on the Ultra Sounds. I dont mind others comments, I just put in my two cents worth and figured that those who are actually doing the 3D or 4D ultra sounds do a little more research before they actually go out and do it. g

Wow, you're on your 6th. God bless you! I can feel the difference in age as well. Things aren't as easy as they were when I was 24! But you know what you're doing! You'll be fine!

I know, everything I've read and all the labels on the box warn about constipation but I'm definitely having the opposite problem. I did just realized that my prenatals also have a high dose of iron, though, and I was taking them together at night (possibly causing the 3AM tummy troubles?), so I'm going to try taking the prenatal in the AM and the iron in the PM and see if that helps over the weekend. If not, I'm definitely gonna call my doc on monday and see what she thinks. Thanks for the advice!

thanks, that all sounds like really simple, yet perfect advice. i guess marriage isnt as complicated as some people make it out to be.
me and steven were the same way. we met, started dating after about a month, after a month of dating we were engaged and 3 months later we were married!
we just knew. it didnt matter if we waiting 5 years we KNEW we were the one for eachother. so far so good! 1 year and 4 months down, only 69 years and 8 months to go!! lol

Hi, yes it is good to write older moms. I feel a little out of sorts when psoting. I am new to the websites and bloging. It is fun though to see what the younger moms are experincing. It takes me back to my first and all the excitment. I commend you on not having a car. I wish I could do that. We live so far away from stores and such.
Baby is doing well, I love to feel him move-it is like nothing eles. I am starting to feel my stomace getting smaller- I am not able to eat like I use to. I feel my stomace is in my throat! energy is declining also.
wow, 32 weeks! My last was 42+ weeks and was willing to do anything to get her out!! I hope this one is like a buttered slide-just come on out after the 37th week would be fine.
what was your experience having a baby at 32 weeks? Was it okay? Any problems? Did they come naturally or induced?
I will try and ride again, but not with a whole bunch of kids....I was trying not to hit a neighbor boy who was running directly in front of me and I breaked to soon and boom- to the ground. It is all good, I felt fine today-not even sore.
How are you feeling? Talk soon.

wow, 18 years?? thats a long time! any "Pearls of Wisdom" to make it last long and happy?

Any food that is gonna be gassy etc. because it interferes with the photos makes them blurry.. so nothing with garlic, nothing spicy, no fish, no tomato which is gonna kill me cause i love tomato sauce at the moment.. another odd craving!! umm i have to drink 10 glasses of water a day for 3 weeks before which is driving me crazy coz i pee enough as it is hahaha!!

I heard we werent allowed to have alot of coffee.. max 3 cups a week.. but didnt know about the chocolate?? I got told the opposite.. that it was good because it released natural endorphins into the body which were good for bubs.. but as my mum says.. "none of that crap was around when i had you kids" hahaha

I'm pretty much the same with the packing.. everything for bub is done.. and some things i bought new for hospital for me i have packed, like toilettries, slippers, pyjama's.. mum said its nice to have new stuff for the hospital.. but day to day clothes i'm still wearing so that will go in last minute.. I have packed breast pads and pads.. but thinking of getting another pack of each incase i am in there longer then expected.. but other then that i think i am all done.. i washed all my nappies today got the lime out of them they look so cute all flapping in the wind on the line.. really makes me realise this is real.. your gonna be a mum.. it was such a long wait for us.. i still have to pinch myself!! anyway i hope everything is going great!! Hope bub is healthy and kicking.. mine sure is hehehe

Hi thanks for your message, I had no idea that the banana did that too. I will try some stone fruits to see if that helps..

sharra - Tuesday, 1 July
It could also be just me.....I am such a goof! Yes, I have a five year old and she is always on her bike so I thought I would join her the last month. I have been having a good time, I feel like a kid when I am riding, but I guess I need to take it easy. Good for you, take care.

*Baby-Mine* - Monday, 30 June
thanks for the help sweetie! i really appreciate it, and tell your hubby thanks also! tell him i DID stand up to him, and it worked in my favor. he gladly deleted this chick from his page, and was very apologetic about making me so upset. he said he didnt mean to or think it was such a big deal since it was a coworker. we had a great weekend and got along and back to normal.
so thanks again for the advice, you ladies really got me through this in one piece!
