Hello!
I am Brazilian, I lived in CA for 7 years and now I've been in Spain for the last 4, living with the love of my life pretty much since our first kiss.
This is our first baby and we're very happy. It's a BOY and his name will *probably* be Tiago.
(I can still change my mind, any feedback is very much appreciated).
I've been feeling great so far, no morning sickness and very little symptoms. I need to use an inhaler for my asthma daily though.
THANKS to all the adorable ladies who have left me messages about the choroid plexus cysts, they appeared on my baby's head at 18w, and today (12/5/07) at my 20w u/s they were gone, and everything looks good! Your messages and comments helped me stay positive and calm these 2 weeks between ultrasounds, I really appreciate it!
Good luck to everyone and thanks for visiting my page!!
Juliana

15.1 hours ago Your son is gorgeous! I'm also having to supplement with formula due to looooow milk supply. My little guy nurses great, and is very content at the breast, usually each breast 20 minutes or so...but he lost too much weight his first week...I give him formula right after nursing (2 oz.), every 2-3 hours...have been working with a lactation consultant and pumping to try to increase my supply. She had me nursing, bottle feeding, then pumping, back to back, which is tiring, but seems to be helping some. We cut his formula back to 1 1/2 oz. and I make up the difference with pumped breastmilk...seems to be working so far, hoping to eventually be exclusively breastfeeding! I'm also getting ready to start taking a couple of herbal supplements that one of the Lact. Cons. at my hospital takes herself to help her milk supply - Phenegreek and Goat's Rue....online researching them now. Best wishes to you and your little one - feel free to chat anytime! zimmy43 -

awww congrats he is sooo cute!!!!!!!!! newbiemama -
Saturday, 3 May hmmmm this is tricky. well make sure you offer your breast as much as possible so that your baby gets accoustomed to breast feeding and won't refuse it. This will also get your supply up the more your baby is on your breasts. Keep trying. If you are doubtful formula feeding isn't bad but still try the breasts as much as possible! we work on supply and demand so what is removed is replaced. i pumped and pumped and got my milk supply up that way in br=etween feedings. the more you pump the more milk you'll produce even if nothing appears to be coming out. also pumping is not a good indicator of how much milk you are actually producing... happy babes with lots of popps and pees are!
Good luck!!!! amazintrace -
Saturday, 3 May Oh Juliana, He is beautiful! You did a wonderful job. Let's just hang in there I am strugglin with breastfeeding too! Just take it easy and post more when you can! xoxo Tracey snowwhite5thbabe -
Friday, 2 May Congratulations!
In case it helps....To avoid pain with breastfeeding, you have to make sure that you put more than just your nipple in his mouth. You tickle the side of his face with your nipple, and when he turns towards you and opens his mouth, pull him closer and stuff in as much as you can, as he has to be mashing on the areola behind your nipple to get milk to come...Also, you shouldn't do too much activity-wise before 6 weeks postpartum or you risk getting a breast infection. If you get a hot sore spot on your breast, it could be a plugged duct or infection...you need to nurse that painful side first every time( and more often) until it clears up. Happy breastfeeding! :)

Thursday, 1 May Ahhhh Juli, BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you and your new family, how wonderful, you must be so relieved he is finally here, sounds like it all went pretty well. Do you stare at him all the time! already Siam has grown so much in 4 weeks, its incredible. Dont give up on the breastfeeding, it is very vry hard but it will come in the end, it gets quite painful too so make sure you have some cream and also ice packs are great before and after (as bizarre as that sounds), cant wait to see some photos of him, well get some rest for now, I know you cant be online too much as you have to get your routine going so good luck with that and I will wait to hear from you again soon, congratulations again, we made it didnt we!!!!! big love to you all. xxxxxxx zimmy43 -
Sunday, 27 April Hey Ju,
How are you? still hanging on in their or is your little Tiago with you now! It seems such a long time ago already that I was pregnant, but its nice to be able to walk again and move around properly, little Siam is a sweetie, he has 3 hourly feeds but in general is a content little boy, I have been breast feeding but he doesnt seem to get enough from me so now we have formula and breast milk as advised by the doctor, it seems to work for both of us and of course it means my son and partner can get involved too. It is very different with him here and quite demanding, but he is so sweet and we just cant help looking at him all the time, it really is such an incredible thing. I want to hear how you are when you have time, really hope all is going well for you. Good luck xxx noodle -
Friday, 25 April For me brown, pink, or red blood with mine meant labor was within 24 hours. Each preg. is different but for ME four times that has happened (1st 4 babies) bellabelly -
Friday, 25 April I just wrote to first time mommy to b too about this and then saw that you said you feel the same thing. I am too sleepy to write it all again so you can always go see what I wrote on her page lol but here's the jist of what I said.
My mom had NO pain at all in her contractions. She said that it was just annoying if anything. She had that for all three of her kids. So it very well could be contractions...especially if you are due tomorrow! lol
That will be awesome if you go on the actual due date. I sure hope to! I like the idea of May 1 being the big day. It's a good date lol
Anyways best of luck to you and let me know what you find out.
Oh and also, I think you probably already know by the sounds of it, but in case you don't and were just mentioning it randomly lol...loose BM I hear is a sign of labour or something too.

Friday, 25 April Yup, I am doing the same thing. It is soo weird. I just always thought that I would know what a contraction was when I had one...ya know? Yesterday I didn't feel so well, I was have loose BM...but not today. Ugh. Also, last night I started spotting, it stopped this morning and the Dr. said it was probably associated with dialation. Who knows. But I went to the Dr. today and he checked me...so maybe thats why I am doing this?? mommytoAJ -

Sunday, 20 April Hey you, any news yet!! am waiting patiently, cant wait to hear that you have given birth, bet it seems like forever. Siam is 2 weeks old now and although we are fighting through the sleepless nights its wonderful having a baby in the house, it just brings so much love, let me know whats happening with you. Wednesday, 16 April My baby is a few oz. bigger than yours and my doctor said she is perfectly normal, in the 50th percentile. I have also gained a little more than you and the doctor has never said anything about me gaining too much weight. I don't think it should matter what you eat in the next week or two... first-time-mommy-to-b -
Wednesday, 16 April 29 lbs is fine!!! If it makes you feel any better I am sitting right at 50-52lbs gained!! AHH! hehe But my Dr. said that was absolutley fine! I would say not to worry about the weight at this point, that baby is going to grow reguardless if you eat fatty foods or not! :) wmpgurl8604 -
