Wednesday, 8 October Sounds like you had a scare too!! Some doctors don't realize that what they say around you can really freak you out!! I will definately keep in touch. I am so excited to have a my 1st boy, people tell me boys are easier, what do you think? The picture of him is very cute!!! Also thanks for the compliment, lately I haven't been feeling so beautiful, I have been feeling more like a waddling heffer with a poofy face and a limited wardrobe cause I can't fit into much!!! All of my third trimester symptoms are new to me cause I didn't make it to my third trimester with my twins. I may be uncomfortable, have heartburn and an aching back, but I embrace these feelings because it means I am still pregnant and almost there!! danamay3 -
Tuesday, 7 October Hello, when I found out I was pregnant for the 1st time I was happy and scared (I was only 19). I started showing very fast and when I went in to to have my 1st ultrasound, I was informed that I was having twin girls and I had rare serious disorder that only happens with identical twins. It's called Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome, the doctor asked me if I wanted to abort one of the babies, since this condition usually ends in death in one or both twins. I was terrified but we decided not to abort. The syndrome means that the blood vessels in the placenta are crossed and it means that one baby is smaller and barely has any fluid in it's amniotic sac and the other baby collects too much fluid, and has the risk of heart failure because the baby is receiving too much blood and its hard for the heart to keep up. So every week I had painful amnios to drain the fluid that kept building up in the one babys sac. He actually drained out 3 liters once. So after doing that for a while, they finally decided to put me in the hospital under strict bed rest. I was put on a horrible drug called magnesium sulfate to keep me from going into labor. After 3 weeks of torture in the hospital, the doctors decided there was nothing else they could do, so they took me in for an emergency c-section. I was only 25 1/2 weeks along when they were born. One baby was 1 pound 5 oz and the other was 1 pound 12 ounces. The doctors told me they probably wouldn't make it, and if they did they would have major problems. I have never seen such small see through red babies. They stayed on the hospital for 80 days, and finally they were able to come home when they weighed 5 pounds. When they came home they had to be hooked up to apnea monitors. The amazing thing was my little girls were fighters and they jumped over every hurdle put in front of them. Today they are healthy, gorgeous honor roll students, you would never know they were so small and almost didn't make it. They are 12 now. There are pictures of them on my page under children. Sorry this story was so long, it's hard to scale it down. It was all very scary, but goes to show that great things do happen. So I guess if I can go through all that, I should have no problem dealing with GD if I do have it. madiraevin -

Tuesday, 7 October Thanks danamay3 -
Tuesday, 7 October Thanks Julie for responding to my blog about GD. At first I was really worried but I called my doctor back and asked them more questions, and they made me feel more at ease. I will keep you posted and I really appreciate your comments, since you have been through it. Just curious, did your babies get big?? I hear that can be one symptom of GD. madiraevin -
Monday, 6 October took madisyn to the pedi.....she's on oralyte for the next 24 hours (with little to no formula) and if she still has a fever and diarrhea tomorrow, then IV fluids in the hospital will be administered and we'll talk about admitting her for a couple days to monitor her. thanks for tall of the input.... Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Monday, 6 October sorry i haven't been on to respond to anyone for the last few days. i have a very important question, tho.....do u think it's normal for my 3 and a half month old to have a temp of 102+???? I took madisyn to the ER friday because she was weak, throwing up, diarrhea, her eyes were really red and tearing when she wasn't crying, and her temp was 102.4..... The ER dr said it was OK and told me to give her pedialite and keep her hydrated and it should run it's course in a couple days. At 4 this morning, her temp was still 102.1...... does this sound normal? He didn't run any tests, just listened to her..... Do you think I should take her to the pedi dr anyway? angelbabies14 -
