Birth story

On friday night (3 days overdue) i started having contractions after taking castor oil thought i was in proper labour but they disappeared by saturday morning, midwife said that it was false labour so i was gutted! but then by 11 am Saturday i started having contractions again like the night before but alot stronger. They were every 15 minutes at 5pm midwife said still had a long while to go and baby wouldnt be her till monday probably so again i was gutted cos of all the pain i wanted it to be over! but by 9.30pm that night they were every 5 mins apart. Called midwife she said give it an hour or so (at this stage i just wanted to go to hospital) i couldnt lie down or sit cos of all the pressure on my bum. So i went and had a bath laboured in there for about another hour n a half and then contractions were every 3 mintues apart and i was in so much pain so i said i had to go to hospital. Got to hospital about 12.45pm and midwife checked me i was 9cm dialated! so lucky i got there when i did. So layed on the bed on my right where i still had the last cm to dialate, i had so much pressure on my bum i was shaking from the contractions but trying to relax so i wouldnt stress baby out. Then all of a sudden i felt urge to push and i was 10 cm so ready to go. Half an hour n she was out! My baby girl Miki weighed 7lb 10 oz same as me when i was born. I didn't tear or need to be cut and i feel awsome now that I did it withought any pain relief. She had an Apgar score of 9. Measured 48cm long. She was put straight on my boob and i'm still breastfeeding now i love it!

More.... Hi ladies! My names Jumee and i'm pregnant with my first baby! Although this is my second time being pregnant but I had a miscarriage, but luckily got pregnant after only a month. Me and my partner are both reallly excited. I thought it would be good to get onto a site like this with lots of other mummies to be to see what others are experiencing. So Far...

Ive been feeling okay, just been getting a bit tired throughout the day and ive noticed ive been having much earlier nights! I haven't really been going to the toilet more frequently yet which i'm kinda worried about :s but my boobs have grown and they feel a bit tender! Just really worried about having another miscarriage but i have to keep positive :)

Friday 21st August '07 Had our first doctor appointment at 7 weeks, The doc said it was too early to do an internal exam so he said my my symptoms evrything sounded good so far so had my bloods done, results came back good! so far so good then! Its such a relief feeling sick and having to get up in the night to pee, even though people complain about it. It just gives me peice of mind that bubs is still going strong, touch wood!

Friday 7th September '07 I had my first scan today! It was sooo exciting and nerve racking especially after finding out at my last first scan that i had miscarried, as soon as she put the controller thing on my tummy our baby showed up! It was so amazing seeing my little one so clearly waving its arms n legs around even looked like it was scratching its nose! But the craziest thing is that we all thought i was 9 weeks by my LMP but turns out that i'm 12w2days!! So my due date has been moved forward to 19th march me and my man are so excited. :)

22nd September '07 Oh so i'm freaking out right now :S......Yesterday i went to the toilet for a pee and when i wiped i noticed some brown spotting, it wasnt heaps or anything but enough for me to notice especially when i check everytime after already having a miscarriage. I went to the toilet like 10 more times after that to check and sometimes there was the tiniest bit if i wiped hard sometimes nothing but enough for me to worry about :S So i rung my midwife and she said if its bright red and i get lots of pain or cramping then to call her straight away, cos it was brown she said whateve it was it was old and that might be the stuff that protects the baby in the uterus or sumthin. I'm so scared everytime i feel something in my tummy i assume its cramping but i get confused if its the feeling whether i need to go number 2 or what. I'm just trying not to stress about it. aghhhh. i hope my babies okay :( Everytime i've went to pee today i havent seen anything, and i havent had any "real pain". Fingers crossed.- Just rung my midwife again this morning!! --worrying too much she said that if i had miscarried at 14weeks i would definately know about it because there is an actual baby now and id go through labour so i would know because of the pain! so i feel alot better now! Everythings fine :)

9th October '07 Last night my nipples leaked clear stuff eeek! Ive read that other people have been getting that too so feww! Amazing whats happenin to our bodies! And all of a sudden my jeans are realllly tight and so uncomfortable i swore to myself i wouldnt stop wearing skinny leg jeans but now i know why the make maternity clothes and that you just cant wear tight jeans its soooo uncomfortable! its because my uterus is really sticking out now above my pubic line, the boys at work are calling it my "baby gunt" hahah for those who dont know what a gunt its a rude name for (hate to say) bigger people that have that big bulge at the front under the tummy!! meanies huh!

5th November 07 Well its been awhile so i thought id better do a quick update, My lil Miki has been kicking me heaps lately i love it! I went on a big walk with my boyfriend today up and down hills which i havent done in a long time and i found it soooo hard with all the extra baby belly i had to carry but i made it! Feeling good at the moment and love being pregnant although i feel like a hippo but i love my bump! Cant for my lil beauty now we are just so excited.

9th November 07 I was supposed to see my midwife this morning for my monthly checkup, but since all the last times i see her shes forgotten about me or at a birth, so i thought id call her to make sure before the app today and lucky i did cos again she couldnt see me today, but she said that she wants to have a talk with me and my partner tomorrow both of us there so i'm a little worried :s I had my scan two weeks ago so if it was anything serious about my baby i'm sure she would have called and let me know by now so i have no idea what it's going to be about. will update after i found out tomorrow..

10th November 07 well just an update from how my midwife appoinment went, my baby girl is growing spot on for dates and her heartbeat was healthy, ive put on 7kgs!!! but.....from my 19 week scan a couple of weeks ago, from the scan report my midwife said they picked up something (cant remember the term for it) but its when something like light bounces back onto the screen on the scan when they are scanning the baby which means there is a slight risk of something being wrong, but the consutant said that from my 12week scan everything was normal like with downs and all that and for my age i'm also at a realllly low risk that there is actually something wrong like theres just that 1% chance. SO thats why she wanted us both there to discuss options so ive decided to get another detailed scan to check everything its going to be a 4d one!!!! i didnt even know they did these in NZ. I personally think my baby is going to be fine i just want to make sure!

6th December 07 Ive just come back from a really lovely holiday with my boyfriend, 25 weeks pregnant now and i cant believe how fast it has gone! so much coming up with christmas and everything aswell so times going to keep flying, im loving my growing belly! the only thing thats getting to my is when my baby girl rests on a nerve and gives me a dead leg which gets pretty painful at times but thats all i can complain about! Bought lots of cute stuff but now i need to get serious about the essentials!! havent really had any food cravings... i'm not sure if i'll get them later on or not get them at all!?

26th January 07 I'm 32 weeks pregnant now and i can't believe how time has flown. Had my first antenatal class last night (started a bit late) which was exciting, we learnt about birth and watched a quick vid then did some relaxation which was so nice! My baby girl is getting so big i can feel her kicking under my ribs now, and especially after dinner my stomach just feels like its going to burst! Starting to get hard to sleep now with all the aches n pains that go with being in late pregnancy but oh well. Ive gained 9 kgs so far but my appetite is definately increasing i just want to eat and eat! Baby shower this weekend CANT WAIT!!

1st February 07 33 weeks preggo this week and shit its hot! Think i might have to conceive in summer next time so i'm not my most pregnant at the hottest time of the year like now! I've officially finished work yay! So glad because i'm really getting tired easily now and just want to sleep for parts of the day. I'm glad to be back at home now so i can rest and basically do what i want instead of working! Been getting into a bit of aqua jogging lately, its hard at first but i feel so light when i'm in the water highly recommend it to anyone reading this!

27th February 07 37 Weeks now, and only 21 days to go! cant believe it, i'm not too sure if my baby has dropped or not yet but i feel different down there, bit more pressure then normal i'll find out next week at my next appointment i guess. Getting tired easier now weight gain at 9 kgs still but i've been eating really bad lately so wont be suprised if i've put on a couple more at the next weigh iN! i cant wait for my baby :)
