IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

20 week update -

We have our U/S appointment this Friday on the 8th - I cant wait to find out the sex of the baby!!!!! I had a dream last night that we were at the appointment and it was a boy, which is what I've thought all along! I've been feeling him moving around more and more which has been a strange sensation to say the least. My hubby got to feel him for the first time saturday night which was great!!!

I'll update again Friday after we find out the sex for sure!

18 week update -

I feel like I've gotten huge in the last few weeks which would make sense why all of my pre-pregnancy t-shirts are fitting a little more snug! I'm discovering just how important posture is the bigger I get - the more I slouch, the more uncomfortable I feel - ugh! We have an appointment with our midwife on wednesday at 3 - get to hear the HB again - wahoo! Unfortunately have to give blood as well which I could personally do without. Part of me is glad they warned me about it last time, but the other part of me wishes they woulda just surprised me with it. I've thought about the fact that I have to give blood at this appointment every darn day since my LAST appointment... guess I better get used to this needle thing!!! I've felt the baby move twice - once over a week ago and once last friday. Felt like a faint thump in there - not like gas bubbles or a flutter.... everyone is different though! We cant wait until our U/S on the 8th - my mom is flying out from Florida for 3 whole days to be there for it. My husbands mother will be there as well. Initially we were going to have the tech write down the sex for us and my hubby and I were going to open it in private later. We decided that since BOTH grandma's will be there, that we'd just have the tech announce the sex there. My husbands mom was at the 13 week U/S so I cant wait for my mom to be at this one. There's something magical in seeing your baby up on that screen moving around and hearing that HB! It's an amazing experience!!!

Intro....

Hey All - I'm new to the site. My husband and I are due June 23rd with our first baby. We'd been trying to get pregnant since May of 07 and FINALLY got a positive test October 16th! My periods had been irregular since getting off BC but had started to slightly regulate in September. I thought I was due sometime between Thursday and Saturday and had been cramping really bad like I was going to start. I had some VERY light spotting Friday which was a good indicator to me that it was coming. By tuesday I still hadnt gotten it so my manager convinced me I needed to take a test THAT night. I had my hubby make an emergency walmart run at lunch to get a test which he was reluctant to do because we'd taken a few prior withOUT the positive result we were hoping for. That night when he got home, I was already in the bathroom peeing into a cup so I could take the test RIGHT AWAY! I dipped the stick and put it on the counter and we both hovered over it waiting for those 2 pink lines! The first line showed up right away and the second showed up a few seconds later - very faintly! I immediately FREAKED out and started balling like a mad woman! We hugged and were in sheer amazement at FINALLY seeing a positive test! WAHOO!

My pregnancy has been relatively problem free. Had some nausea from weeks 5ish thru 7ish but never actually tossed my cookies. I've been moody like the dickens - my poor husband! Thanksgiving week was especially bad but we managed to get through it! Its hard to explain what goes through your mind when your pregnant and full of hormones until you've been through it! I've experienced doubt and fear and excitement - it's been a whirlwind of emotions that's for sure! My husband has been overly anal about EVERYTHING from what I eat to what cleaning products I'm using around the house! He has decided we needed to switch to all natural cleaning products (oh how I miss Clorox clean up!) and organic fruits and veggies. At least he cares I suppose, although sometimes it gets old!

Anyway - onward and upward. June will be here before we know it and we'll be parents to a new baby... boy I'm guessing. We find out for sure Feb 8th at 1pm to be exact!

Best of luck to all the ladies!!

Hi! She was born Wed July 2nd at 1:11p! :) They had to use a vacuum and do a episiotomy to get her out. She weighed 8 lbs 11 oz!

I love every second w/ her! She's pretty good at night. I still don't get much sleep though! My mom is leaving on Saturday, then my brother will up for a week. I'm looking forward to when everyone is gone and I can spend some real quality time w/ her and really get to know her, ya know? Since she's been born it's kinda been a struggle just to get to hold her - what w/ everyone visiting and everything. Everyone wants to hold her. I'll be glad when things are norm and it's just me and her - and of course, daddy. :)

OMG He's beautiful! Congratulations!! I'll post some pics soon, my bundle of joy is waking up. . . :)

Hi!! I've been thinking about you soooo much and this is the first time I've gotten a chance to sign on. We had our little boy on Monday June 16th! The labor was 10 hours total and I had him "naturally" but with the epidural. And THANK GOD for the epidural because "real" conractions are the WORST!! Even worse than pushing. He weighed in at 8lbs 8oz. and is a big boy, but sooooo great. How are you doing? Obviously you've given birth by now too? Tell me all about it. (I haven't gone to your page yet, so forgive me if you've updated it. . :)

colleen - Wednesday, 16 July
oh, and fyi-Haylie weighs 9 lbs., 7 oz. at her appt. Monday! She's getting HUGE!!!

colleen - Wednesday, 16 July
I'm wishing you all the luck in the world on that! I hope it works out for you. Yeah, I don't know why it's easier for some than others. We just found out that D's probably going to lose his job in 75 days. I'm sooo upset, I don't know what to do other than cry. This has got to come at the worst possible time. Thank God he got a head's up from his old boss so he has time to look for another. I'm worried about us losing his awesome benefits, on top of me possibly having to go back to work in retail so I can make more money. I don't want to go back IN RETAIL!!! I'll NEVER be home with my daughter!!!!! Oh, God I don't know what to do!

OMG Ive been so busy I cant believe it. Well hes eating more normally again now every 3 hoursish so maybe it was just a phase or something. Although Im afraid Im not making as much milk as I used to. Maybe hes just eating more but I dont know. I hardly have any left over to freeze now when I pump. He eats more when he eats from a bottle maybe hes over eating and thats whats making him spit up?? I dont know... but if my milk doesnt start to increase with his appetite then I guess Ill have to supplement with formula. Theres always something to worry about I swear!!! I go back to the Dr with him tomorrow for his one month appt so I can ask everything then I guess. Yeah about the IUD... they say it makes your periods super light or even dissapear. That would be awesome. I was actually having cramps the other day and wondered if I was getting my period but I never did and the cramps went away. My aunt though has 2 boys 11 months apart!! She got accidentally preggo right after the birth of the first one. Apparently you are like super fertile after giving birth. Although sex is still not in my short term plans LOL.

I put pics up!

I always thought that was amazing that your boobs start leaking when your child cries! Mine didn't of course. I'm in the process of drying it up :( I still wasn't making anything, and i know there were things I could have tried, but my heart just wasn't in it. I think my experience that first week traumatized me towards the whole thing. She's doing fine, just REALLY gassy, but I will ask the doc about that today. She had a clogged tear duct, but that seems to have gone away. I'm having issues now with this stupid c-sect cut. I think I might have infection, which will suck ass really bad if I do! Oh well, take care. I'll chat with you later!

colleen - Sunday, 13 July
That's so awesome! Haylie's not quite there, she still wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat-BUT last night I fed her at 1:20 am and she didn't wake up until 5 am! so that was awesome for her(and me-LOL). She must be going through a growth spurt or something b/c yesterday she ate 3 oz. every 2 hours on the dot. I don't really want to increase to 4 oz until I talk to the ped. tomorrow. Doesn't that seem like a lot for a 3 week old? I don't know, maybe I'll try giving her 4 oz for a feeding today and see how she does. My parents are here so maybe D and I can go have some quality time together since my mom hogs Haylie the whole time anyway!

mommi2b - Saturday, 12 July
Hi! I'm so sorry I've been outta touch - been so crazy around here. I have my little girl!!!!!!!!! I love her so much - she is so beautiful!!!!! I haven't put pics on yet but will do hopefully today. Things have been so hectic have had a house full of people since been home w/ her - I barely ever even get to hold her cuz everyone else is hogging her!!! LOL

HOW R U???????

heathersprk - Friday, 11 July
Well I actually took B to the Dr today. He had been tossing his milk all night and today. Brenton had just gotten over a tummy bug so I freaked out thinking maybe Bryson caught it. Turns out he didnt. She thought its probably something Im eating thats upsetting him. GREAT so Ive got to eat a completely bland diet now. This kid is determined to keep me on diet restrictions!! Ughhh the fussy days... we have those too and I know what you mean when they insist on being held there is nothing else you can do. I always feel terrible for getting nothing done. Its like taking care of him is all I do. Especially if its a day where he eats every hour too. I asked about that too... she said to try to push him back to eating every 3 hours but to wait until he was over his upset tummy first. He actually went close to 4 hours between feedings last night but he appetite has been down since he wasnt feeling well. And he officially weighted 7lbs and 2oz. She was very pleased with that. I was too it sounds about right. His clothes are finally starting to fit him!! LOL. Hmmm about the itching. You know I had a yeast infection like 2 weeks before I went into labor plus I had one back in my first trimester. Which was odd to have 2 in one year like that, but they say pregnancy can make you more sucseptible to them... that may still be the case. Im sure you could grab an over the counter treatment if you decide to venture out for a card... it cant hurt, it should be safe since thats what they told me to do while preggo. ABout the bc... yeah I think we've decided on the Mirena IUD... I was scared of it but 2 of the midwives highly recommended it. Apparently they put it in at the office and hurts no more than a pap smear and its effective for 5 years but can be removed sooner if God forbid I wanted to get preggo again. It would be nice to not have to remember to take a pill or anything, I wouldnt have to even think about it for 5 years. Also its safe to use while breast feeding, the pill I used to take isnt. The only thing is they wont put it in for like 8-10 weeks after birth so I have to wait for it... I have my 6 weeks appt on the 30th so Ill just talk to them then about it I guess. Ill ask then about the soreness from the epi too. Yeah Bry still sleeps in our room. Russ is such a sound sleeper that he can sleep thorugh anything but Im starting to think about moving him. I wonder if hearing us is what wakes him up so frequently?? Maybe he would sleep better in his own room. I dont know.., I might try it and see but Im not ready to yet. Im clingy to him I like to be able to check in on him lol. Next week maybe when he turns a month old. I still feel like a zombie Im so tired. Speaking of load of laundry too I got to go do some.

colleen - Friday, 11 July
I feel the same way about D. It's amazing how well they've been coping with all of this! Thank God we got some good men!!! Haylie had a couple of rough nights but did ok again last night. I guess it's just the unexpectedness of a newborn! You know what's funny? I looked up babywise on the internet and a lot of the stuff it says to do we're already doing! She eats every 2-3 hours as well, about the same amount, usually 3 ounces, sometimes 4 at night. But she does have her bad nights, thankfully not every night! Her bellybutton stump finally came off this morning!!! Boo hoo, her last attachment to her mommy is gone!!! LOL Anyway, I'm really glad things are getting better for you! We'll get through this! I put a couple of new pics up, check em out!

heathersprk - Friday, 11 July
How ya doing?? Everything going ok with just you and T home?? We are doing good. We've made some small trips to the store and last night Russ and I ventured out to Mexican food with Baby B. It went well. I think B is close to 7 1/2 lbs by now which surprises me. I dont know how much weight he should have gained but I dont know it seems like a lot. I guess hes almost 2 weeks older than Tyler but he was born a pound smaller, does it seem right he would weigh more now?? Hmmm I just dont know!! He goes next week for his one month check up AGHHHH I cant believe he will be a month old!! Anyway, I dont know how much he eats at a time since he is nursing (hes gaining weight though so hes obviously getting enough) but I know if I give him a bottle he will suck down the whole 4oz!! Usually he spits some up though. Talk about a little piggy! My problem now is his schedule. He eats every 3 hours at night but during the day he seems to want to graze. He wants to eat a little like every hour or two and its got to stop. I cant get anything done at all. I started today to try holding him off for the full 3 hours between meals to try to get him on a better schedule but its been rough. Hes been fussing about it all day and my boobs are killing me from not feeding him as much. I guess Ill ask at the Dr next week if they have any better suggestions. I havent been feeling too dry lately down there but I think Im pretty healed up, I do remember feeling dry at one point. DO you have any pain still at your epi site?? I still feel bruised (although you cant see a bruise or anything) where I had the epi, like someone punched me in the back or something. Also I meant to ask you have you thought about birth control yet?? What have you decided?? I too wish we lived closer. It would be good to have play dates. I dont know anyone here really with a baby... it would be cool especially with the boys being practically the same age.

SaraEmily - Thursday, 10 July
Well you sound better. : )

Had my doc appt. this morning. All looks well, passed the sugar test, I have gained a total of 10lbs, baby is measuring ahead of schedule yet somehow I am measuring under, lol. The latest they are going to let me go is Sept 9th. . .so only about 8 more weeks left for me, yeah! And, I leave for the beach next week . . .I am really looking forward to getting away from work for a while and listening to the waves. . .ahh. . .the beach is the best time for my kiddos so I am real excited.

Know that prayers are headed your way continuously. :)

I have been thinking so much about you . . . .have you talked to your doc? I hope today goes well for you. . .

I am doing ok, getting more uncomfortable each day. By 8:00pm I am simply beat. . .putting in a full day of work, driving 30 minutes each way and then taking care of home and two kiddos. . . .I am exhausted, lol. . .and I imagine it is only going to get better.

I go back to the doc tomorrow so hopefully all is still well.

colleen - Wednesday, 9 July
 LOL- love the outfit!

 AWWW! He is so precious!

Babywise? Not sure I've heard of it. Does it work? I'd be willing to try anything! We are having some setbacks with the crib. 2 nights in a row, she's wide awake in the middle of the night, so around 4 am(which is what time it is now) I come downstairs with her and put her in the pack and play and end up sleeping on the couch the rest of the night. She can calm herself down though, I guess b/c it's the "hub" of activity in our house. tonight wasn't too bad-I slept from 9-11:30, got up briefly when D came to bed, and slept again until 1:30 when she woke up, then woke up again at 3 and here I am!! I think my baby blues came and went the week after I got home from the hospital. I don't seem to be depressed or crying all the time. I am very overwhelmed at times and get frustrated with things that have nothing to do with the baby! How are you doing, any better?

SaraEmily - Tuesday, 8 July
Hey, been thinking about you and hoping you are doing well. . . just know I pray for strength for you each day. : )

heathersprk - Monday, 7 July
You know when I had Brenton I tried staying home and didnt like it... but this time I do. I dont know why. I guess Im just older now I dont know. Dont worry though give it a try if you dont like it youll work it out. You could always try working part time. Or you could go back to school or volunteer somewhere... theres all kinds of options to get out of the house and get a break. Im not sure about the stool softeners. I only took them for a few days but I think they are pretty safe. The first prenatals I was given contained a stool softener and since you took those daily I would think its ok. I think my stitches have healed now and Im hardly bleeding anymore too but still the thought of doing anything down there is still scary I dont know why!! Im glad we get 6 weeks to heal down there. I hear you about being busy I have been too especially with the holiday. The weekend of the 18th I am driving to my grandmothers in VA so she can meet Bryson. Im nervous cause Russ cant go. He cant get anymore time off work. So Ive got an 8 hour drive with a 1 month old!! At least Ill have Brenton to help but I bet I will have to stop alot it will probably take a lot more than 8 hours to get there. I still want to go though. I look forward to seeing her and my brother is going to drive down and meet us there so he cant meet B too. Has Tyler been to the Dr yet?? Has he gotten much bigger?? I cant believe how big Bryson is getting all his clothes are finally starting to fit. I don tknow but Im guessing somewhere near 7 lbs now. He goes back to the Dr on the 16th for his 1 month appt. No shots that time YEAH for him!!

colleen - Sunday, 6 July
Yeah, primarily she's on formula. I think I started to get behind in the hospital. I didn't start pumping until like the 2nd day-well they didn't even give her to me until about 5:30pm the day she was born! How are you? Besides exhausted Are you getting any sleep overnight? Haylie actually sleeps in her crib at night, but wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat. She was sleeping in our room in her travel crib, but it was too much for me, b/c I woke up with every little coo and sigh. Now that she's in her room, I only wake up when she's crying. It works, b/c I'm getting like 7 hours of sleep a night. That's including the 3 or 4 of uninterrupted sleep I get when D takes Daddy duty from like 8pm-12am! That helps soooo much! If you need to talk, I'm here! Take care of yourself!
