For me this is what a braxton hicks feels like... my whole stomach gets VERY tight... when i touch my belly it is just really hard and i can feel the tightening... it is not painful by any means, BUT it is a lil uncomfterable...sometimes is last for around 2 minunts but sometimes it happens so quick it is stopping by the time i realize it is happening some days i will have several of them and other days i dont have any...

mommy2b1208 - Tuesday, 23 September
braxton hicks dont hurt they just feel like your belly is balling up and when you stand up it feels super tight. sometimes it makes you have to pee :)

I read your post about glucose testing. My md's office said I could rink or eat all day up until I drank the orange stuff then I can't have anything until I get my blood drawn. My appt is not until 2. So I made sure and asked before I left because I did not want to starve all day!! They had no early appt on Monday next week when I go!1

Hi Justine,

I'm actually from 26 weeks and just saw your post on 27 weeks. I imagine your headaches are normal, but you should get your blood pressure checked just to make sure everything is ok. Headaches, especially with blurry vision, can sometimes be a sign of sudden elevations in blood pressure during pregnancy. I know that the pharmacy near my house will check my blood pressure for free. Can you stop somewhere? Much better to be safe than sorry!
Christine

Sounds like you might benefit from some fiber and other foods in your diet... or restriction of things like refined sugars. I'm thrilled with my once or twice a day solid BM, it hurts just a little when I go because like i mentioned it's large and compacted between all the fiber, iron and the baby sitting on my intestines, but I'm the most regular I've ever been in my life (when i'm ready to go, I go dang it) and it feels great, the actual physical act but also knowing that my body is really absorbing nutrients and getting cleansed out/good detox... is it sick to say "satisfying" in relation to going to the bathroom? Earlier in pregnancy I had the runs more often than not and before I changed my diet 2 months ago, was much like what you described. So here's hoping to help, apologies if it's overkill, here's what my diet is like:
I switched to whole wheat breads, I can hardly tell the difference between the Sara Lee Soft and Fresh Whole Wheat and white bread, there are also whole wheat tortillas that are great with melted cheddar cheese (cheese helps to bind your stool). There are whole grain spaghettis which taste great with bartoli's natural sauces which have less sugar than ragu or prego. Plus like I mentioned in the forum, I try to sprinkle wheat germ and/or flax seed meal in any foods I can such as cereal - been trying the Kashi brand, oatmeal - plain 2 minute sweetened with cinnamon (helps digest sugar) and brown sugar (healthier than white) and a little pure maple syrup (source of iron), malt-o-meal (folic acid) (sweetened the same way), plain regular (not low or no-fat) yogurt with fresh fruit or the same sweeteners as above (they also have those new yogurts that support a healthy digestive tract I've splurged on a bit), and pancake batter (krusteaz supplemented with a little bit of some whole grain pancake mix)...

I started out slightly underweight and find it hard to get 2300 calories in a day, so I don't go with low fat stuff. Whole milk, enriched soy milk (omega-3), rice milk. Ever heard of stevia, it's a very strong, natural sweetener that is actually healthy for your pancreas, it's available in packets at some grocery and most health food stores, but use a little ittie bit in lieu of sugar. No more sodas! If you crave carbonation, get club soda and mix it with 100% juices. Eggs! V8 is great and convenient in cans. Orange juice helps to absorb iron, broccoli is your best friend. Have you had your iron tested, you might want or need a supplement, and that in itself will help firm your stool up, btw it will be very very dark. Natural, unsweetened applesauce. In fact, fyi for when baby comes too, applesauce is the cure all for both diarrhea and constipation! Romaine lettuce, iceburg has zero nutrition. Carrots, green beans, peas, you know the vegetable drill. I find frozen veggies the most healthy and affordable, and nothing is easier than those new steam-in-the-bag ones. Cantelope, watermelon, blueberries, blackberries. If you like your chocolate, but don't want to go overboard on it or want a healthier, more affordable version, get a bag of the special dark hershey's chocolate chips for baking. Instead of feeling compelled to eat an entire bar, you can have a tablespoon and satisfy your craving, and it's much much cheaper even though it's the same product they sell in bar form. Meat! My favorite is steak, but ground beef (i love 80/20 or 85/15) chicken turkey pork tuna salmon, I just about always grill my meats or panfry in grapeseed or olive oil, i like the salmon steamed. And last but not least, nuts and beans! Almonds, pistachios, cashews, soy nuts, sunflower seeds... lentil and pea soups. Water is also super important, i find I drink more if I keep bottles of it in the fridge, I splurge on a 24 pack and then refill with tap water, a little bit of lemon or even the slightest touch of baking soda can help overcome bad tasting city water... and the baking soda is also good for your teeth and helps aid with digestion and reducing gas and heartburn. And of course, there are your prenatal vitamins and like I mentioned before, vitamin C (boost immunity and ability to heal) and calcium (increase pain tolerance), along with vitamin B (energy!), whenever I feel the need for such a supplement. And if there is a food I absolutely love/crave I eat it/drink it. I love arizona green tea with honey, and cookies, and ice cream. I eat them whenever I want, usually in moderation but sometimes I absolutely inhale an entire package of chips ahoy soft and chewy cookies. But I forgive myself the splurge, because I feel so great about how I've changed the rest of my diet, especially when i think about how good it is for my baby!

At first I thought your pain in the butt (forgive me) might be sciatica, but upon deeper reading I think you meant your actual sphincter, right? While it is possible that this might be linked to sciatica (helpful link http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/your-body/week-28/sciatica.aspx ), it might be hemorrhoids (common in pregnancy). And while this is gross, i know you said nothing has been going in, but what about coming out? I have been having one large BM a day, due to my iron supplement and baby compacting the intestines, and I can't believe those things are exiting my body (sorry to be so graphic)... luckily, amazingly, surprisingly, they have not made me sore, though I imagine there is potential for tearing and pain. Wouldn't know much I could do if it was. Vitamin C supplements can help your body heal faster, and Calcium can increase your pain tolerance, on top of your prenatals. Remember that acetaminophen is the safest and only recommended pain killer during the third trimester.
don't worry about stretch marks, most men don't even notice them, though i bet that doesn't make you feel any better. I agree with the other messages, cocoa butter. Also, I find that soy based massage oils applied to the skin make it glisten and shine so much that those little blemishes don't get a second glance. Along with your belly, don't forget your breasts, butt, and thighs when pouring on the lotion. If you get the right kind of soy oil, you could also try some on your perineal area, that might help as well with the discomfort down there and is safe, also makes a good lube. I use this Soy Pure Spring Massage Oil from Rite Aid at night, I use it absolutely everywhere and it's nice because it doesn't seem to make a mess in the sheets and smells soooo good. It is also safe and not unpleasant to taste. Hope this helps!

It sounds to me like you need to adjust your sitting position more often
The same thing happens to me ALOT
this baby is riding SO low that it cuts the circulation off when i'm sitting down and in addition to changing positions alot I have to get up slowly or i pass out (big fun) haha
also sounds like you are just as miserable as everyone else and that is TOTALLY normal
I had a moment last week at work and a co-worker said to me "just enjoy your baby being inside you and knowing it's safe ALL THE TIME , because before too long you'll be wishing you were still pregnant when you haven't had enough sleep in a month"
be patient and try not to get frustrated it's not good for you or your baby
being preggo SUCKS sometimes but take comfort in the fact that you are not alone

also sitting on a heating pad helps sometimes with the sore butt cocoa butter cocoa butter cocoa butter for the stretch marks either that or get some vitamin e tabs and break them open and smear it all ove ryour belly both are VERY good formaking your skin stretch better with out leaving marks i swear by cocoa butter this is my second and i have yet to get a stretch mark

hope you feel better
K
