Oh yeah, that happened to me before, and the last time I went and talked to the Doctor, he told me to definetly call or go to the hospital if I had more than 4 contractions pr hour. So about a week ago, I called telling them that maybe I could get in the next day or something, to be checked, I am sure it is no big deal, and I will call if it gets worse, so they tell me to come in right away, I was like umm ok. So when I get there, the first thing the midwife says is, (after I tell her what was going on) so why are you here? braxton hicks are normal you can have 1,000 a day if you are busy and doing alot of stuff. Like I was totally overeacting....she then proceeds to say, I noticed you have gained alot of weight, that is why you are tired, and I see you had a miscarriage in the past( I was 9 weeks along long past the danger zone for me this time), in other words like these things had anything to do with my visit that day! I wa so upset by the way she was towards me.I have decided to talk to someone the next visit about the way I was treated. Why do people think it is ok to act likea jerk to a pregnant lady? I am like what ever happened to the good ol days when people were respectful. Anyway sorry if it'sa little bit long, but it just gets under my skin to be treated badly during a time that is supposed to be wonderful!

Emotional or not ( which I am) This appt would of upset me. Ive waited FOREVER for this appt and counted down the days crossed off each day on my calender till this appt and I HATED it, IM STILL crying over it! I have no idea whats going on with my baby still!!! And the worst part is, He is SUPPOSED to be the cheif of all OB's in my city and he is a HUGE freaking old grumpy man and he totally intimidates me. When I told my hubby i was upset that he didnt answer anyof my questions he said because I didnt ask any, which is kinda true because the man scared me! I felt too embarassed to ask him questions :(

OMG....I would write out an complaint about him!!!! Not kidding. I wouldnt see him again. Im so sorry!!!

AutumnBaby - Thursday, 29 May
That stinks - I am sorry. I switched doctors after two miscarriages, I just felt like the doctor I was seeing was really insensitive and that I was an inconvenience. My new doctor is my age (35!), a woman, and just had her first baby in January. I think I totally lucked out as I randomly selected her but I couldn't be more pleased. I called her last week with my first "freak out" thinking there was something wrong. She was great and told me that she would feel better if I came in so we could listen to the heartbeat together. When I did and everything was find she just laughed and said that I have used one of the three "freakouts" she would give me - I still have two more to go if I need them. I know it is daunting to think about switching doctors mid-pregnancy but I can tell you that my experience from one doctor to another in the very same medical building has been night and day. If you still have unanswered questions perhaps you could see if you could get scheduled with a nurse practitioner to walk through your concerns???? Best of luck with everything.

That's terrible, change Doctor's - to, preferrably, a woman!

kar - Thursday, 29 May
How awful!! You should talk to his secretary to let them know how upset you are...is he always so abrupt? If this is a one off thing, then maybe you can let it go, but if he's always like that, then maybe try switching doctors. Good luck!

bowling4 - Thursday, 29 May
How awful! I can't imagine my doctor saying that to me. That is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I would say something to him about it, or at least tell the office what happened. You should be getting the attention you deserve right now. Hope it works out for you.
