My husband and I got married on May 19th, 2007 and found out that we were expecting on July 16th, 2007. This was a HUGE shock for us. We had both made the decision early in life to "save ourselves" for our future spouses. So imagine our surprise when we became pregnant so quickly. Though we wanted to wait a year or two before trying for a family, we believe the Lord had (and still has) a better plan for our lives than we could ever come up with. The last 10 months have been quite hectic around our house. We got married, got pregnant, my husband is working on finishing his master's degree in Electrical Engineering, and he started a new job at the end of December that relocated us. Our first year of marriage has been incredibly high paced and packed full of change! I'm so thankful for every moment and do my best to see every one of these adjustments as a blessing. I, myself, graduated with my bachelor's degree in Social Work and was a case manager at a center for adults with developmental disabilities and mental retardation for a little over a year. I've always known that I wanted to make a career out of caring for my family. I was so excited to resign from my job on January 4, 2008. I absolutely LOVE being a house-wife. When people ask what I do during the day, I simply answer, "operate at my own pace!" My husband always interjects with, "Soon she'll be on-call 24-7." I love my life and pray that it points to Jesus everyday...
