MY BIRTH STORY

well I woke up at 4:30am on Sat Jan 5. Contractions were strong but about 10 min apart. I waited it out until 6am when they were 5 min apart and called the hospital when I was instructed to come in. We got to the hospital around 7:30 am and contractions started slowing down to 8 min again. Doc came in to check and asked if I wanted to go home for the day or have my water broke. Since I was already 2 weeks over and tired of waiting I decided to have him break my water. Well right away the contractons were back to back, and I couldn't believe how strong they were. We were then taken to our birthing room were the contractions continued to progress and I was pretty sick, throwing up constantly. After 4hours the nurse decided I could have an epidural and called the doc. Well it wasnt long after that when I began to get real cold and couldnt stop shaking. My temp started to rise and the pressure below was almost unbarable. Well within an hour I was semi-unconsious coming in and out of it. I have no recollection of the remainder of the day but do know I was in labour for a total of 19 hours. At 9pm the doc came in and informed Jeremy they were doing an emergency C section due to the fact my fever had reached 104 degrees and was not going down with antibiotics and the baby's heartrate was over 200. At 9:31 our baby was born perfectly healthy besides a slight fever that went away with in 2 hours.

We have been home now for 2 weeks and things are stressful and we are both SO tired but she is definately worth it.

OK so I am getting way too excited.... I just want it to be December all ready... Measured my belly today for the first time and it is 48" around... WOW! I am huge!

Now I am going to vent a little bit just because I feel I need to. So I had a pretty rough first trimester... I had some of the most aganizing cramps I had ever felt in my life and well I am not normally a suck. I also had a little bit of spotting. I went to the Dr and had an U/S and they found a little hemmorhage but apparently nothing to worry about. OK, so I had to just keep an eye on it and take it easy.... So later on in the pregnancy I had some really bad bleeding and was brouht to the hospital were they did tests and another U/S where they discovered a Fibroid that had apparently doubled in size in just over 2 weeks. So now I am supposed to be monitored closely just to see how large the fibroid grows as it may put me into preterm labour.

I just had my first appointment with the OB, which I am not impressed with. I get to the office and find out that it is an office with 6 Dr's who rotate every week... So therefore I am not going to see any of them more then once... How personal is that!? Talk about being just another number...

When I was in the office for my visit I asked about the fibroid and the Dr had no idea as to what I was referring to and said that it must be fine. She also had no idea as to when my due date was and no idea as to why I had so many U/S. She hadn't even looked at my files that my family Dr faxed over with the referral.

Ok so I guess I was wondering if any of you are experiencing ANYTHING like this and if you know if it is normal or if I should have some concern...

Ok, so I think we have finally decided on a name for our little girl.

I think she will be named Maddison Susan Rodgers.

I am not too fond on the actual name Susan but it is both my mom and Jeremy's mom's names so we decicded it would be easiest and no one could say we picked favorites...

Still am a little shocked that my Dr had the nerve to tell me to watch my weight since Ihave gained too much (14 pounds to date), but have decided she can suck my butt... I will do whatever I want, I only have 10 weeks left and am going to continue to enjoy it.

Anyways, I am SO super excited and petrified at the same time. I am so affraid I am not going to be a good mom or freak out once she is here.... But yet I cannot wait for her to get here....

Anyways, congrats to all and good luck!

*hugs*

ok well just thought I should update this. I had yet another weekly apt today and finally the doc felt my belly and made sure baby was head down and told me that she was already weighing over 8lbs... WOW!!! Holy Sh!*. Doc said she is down in the pelvis and could come at anytime, yet at the same time kinda contradicted herself by saying that she doesnt expect to she her before x-mas... SO I am not going to hold my breath.... I have about 10 days until my EDD but my doc doesnt enduce so who knows when this child is coming out... I know I want her to behealthy but come on, she already weighs 8lbs, you cant get too much more happy then that, frig she is going to run outta room soon... Anyways just a little update.... Until next time.

Good Luck to all! :)

*hugs*

Hang in there! I came to look at 41 weeks to reassure myself that no one goes that long...:)

Hi! I named my 1st Daughter Cheyenne (spelled it Chian) She loves her name (she will be 7 Jan 12th), and I love it too because you don't hear it often. Anyway, I saw that was one of your choices and wanted to throw in my 2 cents! Congrats! Hope she comes soon for you! BTW - My name is Kara too (spell it Cara)

That sucks sweetie. I can relate to the no friends thing. I just moved to FL and don't know anyone except my crazy mother-in-law-to-be :( As for the shower thing, I say have one anyway! And definately straighten out your man ;)

hey kara-I am 29 weeks...my baby has kick-itis. She kicked me every hour last night, on the hour...Oh, I wanted to tell you, i get that same thing with the chest pain, like a big air bubble is stuck or like you said a piece of candy is lodged in my esophagus...Whenever I experience this, (usually about a 1/2 hour after a meal) I get my husband to literally 'burp' me like a baby...he just hits me on the back for like 10 mins straight, and it goes away...I don't know if that helps, but thought I would tell you. Congrats!

I totally agree with you! I love eating :) I just thought it was a really bitchy thing for a step-mother-in-law to say to a preggie :)

I was reading some information on 3d scans recently because Im going for one myself on Tuesday. Was just curious as to how you felt about seeing your little one on the monitor? I was told that for a lot of mothers its very upsetting becuase its not what they were expecting. This scan is going to cost me over $200 and I really dont want to be upset afterwards.Especially now that Im an emotional wreck thanks to these hormones!! I dont mean for this post to sound rude or interigating im just really curious as to what to expect:) Thanks take care

Sorry to hear that you have been having trouble too. I try to eat snacks, but I teach school and the kids don't understand why I need to eat in front of them:)

Sounds like you have a sweatheart for a mother in law, I unforunitly do not. In the past I've always gotten along with my b/f's mom's but for some reason i just can't click with this one what so ever. Plus she has the view that her little angel could never do anything wrong so i think a heart to heart with her would end up in the two of us fist fighting.

cherryrose - Friday, 7 Sep
Gosh...we havent even started putting our nursery together..We'll be lucky if it is done when our little boy comes home... Yours is very cute...makes me want to hurry up with ours...
