Wednesday, 18 June the exact same thing happened to me! It lasted for 3 hours sometime where Byron would want me to stay with him. I was putting him to be very early (5:30pm) so I moved that to 6:30 or 7pm. It still takes him awhile to fall asleep but it seems better. Also, it might just be a phase where they are learning you are a separate person from them so they are more needy. Just remember that it will pass. I still nurse him to sleep :) 3rdtimer -
Thursday, 5 June Hi there, I'm from month 7 and thought I'd reply about your sleeping query. I think it's good to let your baby know you're there when she cries but if you know she should be getting a decent sleep at that time, just give her a pat, some kind words and leave without picking her up. (That is if you've ruled out dirty nappy, hunger, come unwrapped, lost paci or other cause of distress that needs fixing.) If she keeps crying, go back in after 5 minutes and do the same thing. Same after ten minutes, and every time add an extra five minutes to the time you wait. She should eventually put herself to sleep. If she gets used to having you near, she will always need that to get herself to sleep. And every time she stirs during a sleep (and we all do this), she will want you again to create those same conditions she needs to get back to sleep. So if you teach her to go to sleep on her own, she won't need you to be there every time she stirs, and she should learn to sleep happily until she is genuinely hungry or not sleepy anymore. Well...... that's the theory anyway! But in general, it works, so long as you are persistent, confident and reassuring. She won't break from a bit of crying (and I hope, neither will you!). The aim is a happier and better rested baby and mum. On our third child, there's no time to stay with the baby patting and rocking him and so forth so he has had to learn to sleep well. Friends say 'wow, you just put him in bed and walk away, and he sleeps?' Well, he does now, but we've worked at it. I wish you all the best! mamasuzy -

Friday, 2 May Karensmommy ~ My baby drinks around 50+ cans a month. It's about 2 can a day. One can can make 26oz feeding, right(13oz formula + 13oz water). He just turn 7months, so he is drinking about 8oz., about 5 or 6 times a day. One can can put into 3 bottles and 1 oz is left. I use the 1 oz and add 1oz water and make oatmeal for his dinner. He only eat once a day. NOTE: Older messages are compressed to speed up the website.
