Yay! Let me begin by exclaiming my excitement! Time can not go by quickly enough! So I'm trying to settle down and take one day at a time and really cherishing this time of pregnancy. I am 19 weeks along and my first ultrasound is set for March 13th! I am so eager! My husband, Kevin, and I are looking forward to finding out the sex. We are excited either way, whether it's a girl or a boy all we care about is it's health!

I've had some issues with high blood pressure, but it's back down to normal currently. So I'm taking some time off work. I have a million questions to ask about pregnancy so expect to see me around!

BABYLUVER - Monday, 11 August
hi there, i'm sorry to hear about your baby....I'm sure everything will be fine....your baby will most likely need antibiotics and with technology nowadays and the fast access to health professionals increases your babies chances for survival.....Just think meconium is not meant to be in the lungs and will just need time to clear up!!!!!!! Just be strong and this isn't an uncommon situation!!!!! I hope everything goes well.....(if your wondering I have experience being in the health care profession I work in L & D and our local nursery)

Wishing you and baby all the best! Hope all goes well. I have heard these things happen and goes well. Take care and all the best!!

Hi,

I just wanted to answer your question about your baby being in NICU. That exact same thing happened with my first baby. She was born with the meconium in her lungs and not crying so she was rushed away to be put under 100% oxygen. She also had contacted some type of infection and was treated in NICU with antibiotics for 10 days and then she was fine to come home. She has be absolutely perfectly healthy since all that. I pray everything goes smoothly for your baby boy. Take Care hun.

Hello! I've been drinking the tea and it hasn't started my labour off (but I'm not officially due until today anyway), but I looked on wikipedia and it seems to have lots of other benefits, especially for your uteris muscles. I also read that because of this it's also good to drink during labour. On an English website it said about an Australian study that showed it can speed up the second stage of labour and reduce the chance of forceps delivery. (http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/labourandbirth/planningyourbabysbirth/naturalbringonlabour/#18). On the box of teabags I got it says it beneficial ffor women in the later stages of pregnancy anyway, so I'm trusting that! Lots of luck to you!

I drank the tea and it didn't do anything for me. It's supposed to keep the uterus strong and apparently is healthy for the baby. I don't believe it induces labor.

I would say the measurement you are talking about is your fundal height, from the top of your uterus to the pubic bone. It is usually similar to how many weeks you are so you are doing just fine. You would be 30cm though and not 30 inches. Sometimes you can measure a little smaller and sometimes a little bigger than your due date.

There are somethings we are advised to do to prevent problems from occuring. Washing the baby's clothing is one of them. At clinic we are told to wash the baby's clothes separate from our own and to use a soft detergent. For mostly the same reasons that we use special soap etc. on them. Your baby's skin is delicate and may react to things that will not harm you. Clothing may have dust, chemicals or random stuff on them.

Your situation sounds so frustrating! I am also Rh- and I was having problems getting my insurance to cover the cost of the injection (without insurance it was going to be around $700!). My doctor said not to worry if it's a little late. We have a window to work with. He didn't exactly say what the window was, but I think it should be fine. Maybe you could call your new OB and ask him how late you can safely have the shot..

BRANKAUF - Thursday, 8 May
Hi I know how you are feeling. My is a plumber and was laid off in March. He is getting unemployment but it is hardly anything. He lost his halth insurance, but thankfully I still have my coverage with my job. I am getting ready to to go out on maturnity leave and VA does not have any state disability. Any leave for pregnancy must be private. My short term disability says I have to miss 14 days of work before I can claim benefits. It is scarey.....I dunno how I can go with out almost 3 weeks of pay!
You are deffinitly not alone here girl!
I will keep you and your family in my prayers! Good Luck and have a healthy pregnancy!

Hello, I don't have any suggestions but I wanted to offer some support. My husband and I are just starting out and money is low! Right before getting pregnant I quit a good paying job to go to school full time. Nick also just started a new job.
It's not easy but we've realized we can cut out alot of things we really don't need to save money. LIke cable and little things that add up. We are even going down to one car. Luckily, we have both our familes near by.

I really hope that things lighten up for you both. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your pregnancy, keep me posted!

MelisaK - Thursday, 8 May
I know how you feel. I left work last year to go back to school full time to become a nurse. I did not expect to have any more children but at the end of the semester I found out I was pregnant. Now we are going to have 3 children to feed and clothe and I am still 2 years away from my degree. I am freaking out but things have a way of working themselves out. Just hang on tight and look for assistance wherever you can get it. Don't let your pride get in the way...if you need it then you need it. Good luck!!!

Its reallly hard to believe but God will provide you with the means to take care of your family. Relax we all have money troubles and we often live in expensive places. It almost cost $1 to buy a banana where I live. I do a bit of private cleaning to put a little extra away. This helps me feel a little more secure. Take a look around you, You do not live in the third world and economically you are lucky. Babies do not starve to death where you live. Take yourself back to basics. A warm bed, food and love this is all your baby will need . The rest is a bonus.

MommaD - Wednesday, 7 May
My hubs lost his job in Nov, finally got back to work in March. So we spent most of our savings during his time out of work. Our mortgage payment is crazy high. I have no choice but to return back to work after the baby is born and then we'll be hit with that whopping daycare bill as well. We've cut back on alot trying to save $. Times are tough for us too!

priceymommy - Monday, 28 April

emilyanne - Tuesday, 22 April
My LMP and US are 2 weeks apart as well. Go with the US---it is probably the most accurate.

singinghide - Tuesday, 22 April
My LMP was Oct. 21st, and I am due July 27th. I think you're due about the 28th or so???

taysonrex - Monday, 21 April
My LMP was Oct. 18, and the dr is still going with July 24th. He said it was measuring for July 21st, but still sticking with July 24th. The fact that you got prego 2 weeks after your LMP is accounted for in the due date calculator. I would go with the first due date, and just go from there. I also just talked to a girl yesterday about how her baby was measuring 9 lbs 13 oz a week early, so they took it by c-section, and her little girl only ended up being 7 lbs. SO ... the ultrasounds are not 100% accurate.
