my husband and i have been TTC since our daughter was born, without any luck. we had just given up, and gave away the very last of out baby things, when my husband suggested we try one last time.
well much to my suprise it worked, and we are now expecting our second child in July!! i guess that gives me a great excuse to go shopping :)

one more week until my ultra sound!!!! i am soo excited!! my husband is coming (of course) and we are bringing our 5 year old daughter too. she is so excited to have a new baby, she has been asking for one for about 2 years now. . i would love a girl because it would be more of a playmate for Olivia, but a boy would be nice because it would be different-pity i don't find out the sex for another 8 weeks!! i am just so pleased to be a mother again!!

we just came home from my first ultrasound!! i was so nervous going in, well as soon as the doc put the thingy on my tummy, i saw our beautiful baby!! i nearly cried at the sight of our little jumping bean, it was soo cute, my husband had a time of it trying to explain all the 'bits' to our five year old!! but i feel sooo much better now, its little heart is beating at 158 beats p/m, it has two arms and two legs, it has great blood flow, and normal nuchal folds. YAY!!

i have been under a lot of stress at work lately, and had been having some pain and cramping, so this morning i went to see my doctor. she examined me, at first she didnt want to listen with the doppler, because she said, often at 14 weeks, you cant always hear the heartbeat, and she didnt want me to worry too much. i asked if she could anyway, and i was releaved to hear straight away my little bumps heartbeat, going strong and steady at 153 b.p.m!! i feel soo much better. now i just have to wait another month or so to see the gender. i think it will be a boy, my husband and daughter think girl, really though a healthy baby is all thats important to me.

i went to the hospital today to give my complete medical history, and have my first check there. i have been seeing my regular gp, and im going to have shared care between the hospital and gp. i heard the babys heartbeat there, and it had gone down a little to 140. im glad i chose to see my regular doctor, because i started seeing her when i was pregnant with my daughter, so i know her really well feel totaly comfortable. my maternity hospital offers three modes of care, a midwife program, where you get a team of three midwives through the pregnancy, and one of the three will be at the labor, or the third mode is where i go to the hospital for every appointment, and see the doctor on duty there. i really didnt want to do that, who wants to wait around a hospital for hours every couple of weeks? i am happy with what ive chosen, even though my doctor wont be the one to deliver the baby, from what i remember of last time, i really didnt care who was there, i just wanted to get it over with and meet my daughter

i have been having these weird feelings in my arms and legs during the night, they have been getting pins and needles and going numb. i was very worried, as i have also been feeling sick and faint a lot too. i have momentary hearing loss, where i can only hear a 'shhhhh' sound and lose my sense of where i am in space. i went to my doctor, who told me i have very low blood pressure, which is causing all of these symptoms. i was very happy to hear this, even more so when she said it was probably due to the babys rapid growth at this stage, and my placenta needing more blood than i had to give. she says this will go in time. i will be sooo happy when i feel normal again. i am feeling some movement, i really hope its the baby, its like a rolling, swooshing feeling with some pokes, rather than the bubbles i felt with my last pregnancy.

8th march 2008
we had out 20 week ultrasound on wedensday and..............ITS A BOY!!! and WHAT a boy! everything looks good (no spina bifida, which we were worried about as my brother suffers from it) except in his left ventrical in his brain, he has the upper limit of whats normal fluid buildup. it is still in the normal range, 10 mm, though that is the cut off for normal, so we have to go back in 4 weeks to have another scan to see how he's doing. the doctor told us if we wanted (he didnt recomend though) we could have amnio, but as we want this baby, we wouldnt care what the results are, and seeing as everything is still technicly 'normal' we dont want to run the risk of having amnio. so we are praying he is healthy and we will see more in another few weeks.

2nd March 2008

we went for the follow up appointment yesterday, we were both so nervous, but as it turned out, there was no need to be! the left nuchal fold is down to 9mm, so the doctor was very happy with the results. he took us into his office to explain exactly what was going on, he told us that it is very common to have a transient enlarging of the ventricals, and that it means the baby is fine. the horrible thing is though, that because of the ultrasound technoligy getting better, the doctors didnt see until recently these types of things, so when they started seeing them, a lot of people would abort perfectly healthy babys because of it.
well im glad to have seen my little bub again, and knowing he is healthy is just wonderful! no new piccys though, he was facing toward my spine with the cord in front of his face.

13th may 2008
i have had my latest lot of blood tests done, and although my glucose screen was fine, the found out i have anemia, so that explains why i have been so tired! my hubby kept saying to me 'arnt you meant to have a big energy boost during the middle of the pregnancy' so this explains a lot! at least now i know what to do about it. i will have further tests in a few weeks to see if my levels are normal, if not, i have to have injections up to the birth and maybe a blood transfusion after the birth. i am REALLY hoping it doesnt come to that though!
otherwise, my little bump has turned into a big bump, and my bub is super active, and very, very strong! i am on the final countdown now, i cant wait to meet my little guy!!!

Im doing relly welll, some tighning in my tummy like i did sit ups but thats it.. No ms for me.. at least not yet! TG .. lol

Aww thats so cute that she moves all over the place! haha im sure not when your sleeping though. I never really had that .. dominick would always sleep at night in my tummy so i was always well rested.. However right before he came ( a few days 0 i couldnt sleep and i was so tired.. I think my body was anxious bc it knew what was happening.. But i hated it!

Hi Kate, I also found it hard with my little girl in the beginning, she was my first and to be honest I think part of the problem was that I was "overthinking" it. I know that sounds strange but their seemed to be so many techniques required to get it right, in reality once we were left alone to work it out we did and it all seemed to come together after that. She was still breastfeeding when my second was born. I remember sitting in the room prior to going down to delivery (CS) and reading the breastfeeding insrtuctions and thinking OMG Im not sure if I can remember how to do it "properly" !!! Stupid stress attack LOL As soon as he was born I just held him and he attached immediately like he had been doing it forever. All I did was hold him and let him take over and it was all too easy second time around. No cracked nipples or soreness this time just a bit of oversupply that worked it self out. I think never questioning my ability to feed helped I just assumed it would work but then I know mums who are expecting their 4th bub who suddenly get anxious before bub is born, its normal to wonder but trust your body and your bub and see what happens from there. You might also like to take the number for a lactation consultant with you to hospital in case you want someone to talk you through th first few days. Hope this helps a bit Im here to talk if you need me. :)

Hey ! i guess that pregnancy dream was trying to tell me something.. the weird part is it happend before i ovulated! insane hey!

Im so nervous though.. my mc was 8 weeks ago.. Do you think ill be fine.. i only had one cycle and i have made a doctors apoinment. So i hope.. ! ill have blood work done that day too! (monday)

how is Oliva doing.. and baby jacob..

Thanks for the help on baby knees! I think im not going to buy them your right he will take a break when he needs it.. Besides.. hes almost walking.. so save my mommy right. I totaly know what you mean about these worn out knees on the pants though. I keep buying more and more pant bc i dont want ppl to think im cheap! lol.. And stare at him! haha

LOL omg.. when i was in labor and my mom was rushing me to the hospital i was crying and so scared because i was bleeding.. well she was stoping traffic and we were all paniking in the van.. IT was a full van.. and as i was crying and my mom asked if i was ok i told her "i just want to know what he looks like!" lol.. i was so excited.

My guess is he will look more like daddy! Youll have to tell me if im right or not when he gets here.

As for you SIL well.. she can spend more time away from the house.. lol.. My grandma has said the exact same thing.. "will sendit back" as a joke.. but what kinda joke is that.. poor baby being picked on before he even gets here!

Do you think jacob will have blonde hair like Olivia.. Or maybe brown.. Who would you say Olivia looks more like..

Oh i know just what your talking about.
in My family its all about the girls! I was the first girl grandchild for 17 years and then my aunty had a girl. My grandmother always said if its a boy dont even tell me.. all she wanted was girls and there are 7 boy granchildren. Well my mom started the same thing. She wanted me to have a girl so badly. When i found out it was a boy she looked a little down. But said will love him anyway! ANYWAY! how about or course we love him.. so then when i became pregnant for the second time everyone still wanted a girl and my mom is obsessed over dominick. . . but i had a feeling if it were a boy again he would be ignored and dominick wouldnt because he was the first great grandchild. People are insane when it comes to gender and over think it sometimes. After my m/c all i really want is a healthy baby!
