Hey, my name is Kate and im 21 from Yeovil in Somerset, UK. Ive been with my partner for about 4 years now and we have recently found out we are expecting our first baby!! It wasnt planned and OH didnt take it very well to start with but he is coming round to the idea of being a daddy!!

Im really excited and hope the next few months fly by nice and quickly so i get to meet my new little baby!!

Well we have an update!! We found out on Friday (the results of our CVS) that our baby is perfectly healthy and we are having a boy!!

OH is very exited now and looking forward to being a daddy to his first little boy!!

Ouch...those shots hurt! I had to have them at 28 wks due to preterm labor. I hope to never have to get shots in the butt again. Best wishes to you and the baby!

Not a clue!! I think it means cervix needs to be soft and already dialated a little. Consultants are the only ones who can decide to induce so I'd push for a consultant appointment if you want to be induced because of the SPD. hope mw's goes well!

Well saw mw today and he is pretty much fully engaged and in a perfect position for birth so hopefully he wont turn and it wont be too long now. I'm being induced at 38 weeks as long as my cervix is favourable because of my SPD. Are you under consultant care? This is my 2nd. I had a horrible time giving birth to my daughter and now starting to feel really scared about the labour.

I know, I'm soo fed up! I tried to walk into town this morning and had to turn round and come back halfway there because it just hurt too much! I cant believe how much worse its got in the last few weeks, 3 weeks ago I could walk around and managed ok in the day but now I actually wake up in pain! Is this your first? What do you think semi engaged means?

I had physio but just found it really painful! I've been given a back support which is like a giant tubi-grip and on good days it helps a bit but on a bad day nothing helps! They keep saying mine is going to be a big baby, I'm having a boy too! we found out on thursday at a growth scan because my fundal measurment is coming up at 40 weeks already. My husbands really pleased because we already have a girl so a baby boy will be lovely. They said at the scan that his head is "semi engaged"..not really sure what that means? And he's in a perfect position for labour so hopefully wont be long! I'm on crutches because of the SPD and really struggling now so I hope its not long! They also said at the scan that he weighs 5lb already which I think is quite good.

Hi Kate,
I had that happen to me a couple of weeks ago, i didnt say anything on the night it happened but thought about it next morning and rang the midwife, she recommended that i ring the labour ward so i did, they told me to go in - so i did LOL. anyway, they did a swab and urine sample but all was fine and the bleeding had stopped by next morning too,
i still think though you should mention it, just to be on the safe side, its better to know that all is well rather than worry incase its not!

If you did a number 2 (sorry to be crude) and strained then they may have caused a little blood....... i'm sure everything is ok but if it is still happening then i would call your midwife.

When i was 11 weeks pregnant i strained and when i wiped myself there was some pinky discharge! NIce!

I know what you mean when you say you didn't take it well to start with.. as did I. I have a 3 yr old boy and have been l;oving it just bein the 2 of us, I was only with the Dad for 5 months when we found out I was having a baby, he was excited me on the other hand scared to death, I knew I didn't want to be with him and when I foound out I was pregnant didn't know what to do. We have since broke up but he is excited for the baby, we don't talk now he says its to hard for him to talk to me without being with me. You look so good for how far along you are. Im glad you are excited about it now, boys are SO much fun. I don;t know what Id do without my lil guy.
