Feb 7th Last night I was laying around watching tv with my husband and I felt our baby kick for the very first time! Now I can't wait to get home from work everyday so that I can lay around and wait for my babies' movements. ;)
Feb 11th Every quiz I've been taking lately has told me I'm going to have a boy. The chinese gender prediction chart, and the sexratio.com quiz both say boy. With any luck, I'll be finding out tomorrow. I REALLY am hoping for a boy!
Feb 15th Well, it turns out my baby is a little girl! LOL. No biggie. She will be my first child and her father and I are going to love her to bits. She has loooong legs and is super skinny, just like her dad. ;p Gotta put some fat on this little girl! So far I've only gained 7lbs, and I think thats great for ME, but perhaps I need to gain more for her...
Feb 18th ok, so im 19 weeks, 3 days along today. still feeling really good. the
2nd trimester will do that to you. i feel the baby move about every
four hours or so, and that is a comforting feeling. its reassuring to
know that i feel her every day, and even if a day were to go by without
any movement, i have a really good fetal heart monitor i bought off of
amazon that works pretty good and i can usually find her little heart
beat after 30 secs of searching. it holds pretty steady at 138-140 bpm.
:) which, is honestly pretty low for a girl which is another reason why
i thought we'd be having a boy. ;p hopefully its b/c she got the
laid-back attitude of her father!! this
weekend was pretty exciting baby-wise. eric and i went to josh's bday
party and the little cub and i handled it rather well. sunday was a bit
more exhausting as we bought a few onsies at target and then went
through the car wash of DOOM. the loud sounds and the shaking scared
her so much she started kicking me and flipping, and i, like a big
baby, starting crying b/c i didnt know what to do to comfort her and we
couldnt drive erics truck out until it let the tires go and we got a
green light. needlesstosay, ive been reading that loud noises may scare
the baby starting at 18 weeks, but hadnt experienced it until that
moment. im SURE she thought we were in an earthquake. ;p eric says
thats the last time hes taking us through the car wash, heh. i also
felt slightly more guilty b/c ive been trying to teach her to use her
ears more by playing her classical music for 10-15 mins a day using
this fetal speaker system my dad got me. just as shes getting used to
hearing things outside her mother, we took her through the big, scary,
noisy, car wash of DOOM. :( sometimes eric can also feel her little
movements. we lay and watch buffy for hours each night and often he
rests his hand on my belly. hes getting kind of excited about her
arrival and has recently been making lists of things he wants to teach
her about life and now evens plans on writing a few stories for her and
recording them so i can play them to her when hes still at work. is
anything in the world more adorable than that?!
Feb 27th 21 weeks and one day. everything is going swimmingly. i feel the baby bumping around every morning and every evening now when i'm at home relaxing. eric has felt her little squiggles a few times now as well. im back to sleeping very soundly. im talking at least 10 hours a night right now with NO bathroom breaks! bladder of steel, indeed. :) honestly, ive been feeling pretty normal lately. worked on my baby registry some, been thinking about how to decorate the nursery, and am generally in high spirits. i told eric last night that these last two weeks of pregnancy have actually been enjoyable -and he was shocked-. i guess i need to tell him more often how easy going of a pregnancy this has actually been so far and that im currently liking carrying around our little one. i took that quadruple screening test and also had my week 20 anatomy ultrasound. i havent heard ONE thing from my doctor. im guessing that's a good sign? i'd imagine if something was off or wrong she would call me instead of waiting for me to come back in for my next appt on march 11th.....at least i hope so. oh, gotta go, lunch time!
March 5th 22 weeks, 2 days: Baby Éowyn flails around alot more these days. as i told my husband, i think this week she has finally discovered she lives in a bubble! i used to just mostly feel her when i was laying down at home resting, but now i feel her quite a bit these days just sitting at my desk at work. lately my back has been KILLING me, but ive always had a weak back. i might cave in at some point and go and see my dads chiropractor. im anxious to know how much more weight ive gained, but i wont find out until tuesday at my next doctors appt. i think extra weight is what puts so much pressure on my back. my hunger is also up lately. which, makes sense b/c week 21-24 is pretty much growth spurt time and my belly is certainly bigger this week than it was last week! time just seems to be going by slooooowly, yet surely lately.....im kinda getting sick of work! ;p
March 17th
alright. what's new in the preggo world??
tomorrow ill be 24
weeks along. that is the first week in which babies start surviving if
born prematurely (with LOTS of luck). sometimes my belly looks HUGE,
and sometimes it just looks regular pregnant. her kicks are getting
stronger and starting to move around to different places now. had some
more stretching pains this last weekend, and a few braxton hicks
contractions (i hear they are more frequent on active days which makes
sense why i usually get them on the weekends). eric and i went to
ikea this past saturday and bought lots of cute decorating and
organizing stuffs for the nursery. we got quite a bit and it was only a
little over $100! totally worth the money. of course, we have a long
way to go before we can start putting anything up. we still have to
clear out all the boxes in the spare room, move the litter box out, and
shampoo the carpet before any decorating can take place. im giving eric
until the weekend of April 11th before i really start getting on him to
help me get the room in shape. April 11th is the beginning of the three
month countdown!! and by then i should at least have a few more baby
things! im also going to be borrowing my dads part-time maid for a
couple of occasions. maybe once in april and once in june, so that i
can get everything in top shape before the little one arrives. i spent
over 30 mins scrubbing our tub out on sunday, using poor tools, working
in bad fumes, and acquiring the WORST backache from stooping. not doing
that again until after the birth! my last doctors appt was last
tuesday. my doctor was a bit concerned. she thinks 9lbs is a little
low on the weight gain chart by this point, and my blood pressure was
alot higher than she wanted it. so now instead of going back in four
weeks, i have to go back in two so that she can test my blood pressure
again to make sure its not staying too high. : meh, im sure itll be fine.

wigles16 - Friday, 9 May Don't stress I failed all three of my test started a diabetes program and had chocolate cake last night lol it's not too bad
KIMIKIMIKIM - Wednesday, 7 May I just found out everything was ok!!! They say if it is over 200 your chances of having GD is pretty high!!
JennSever - Sunday, 20 April i would go, but contrary to popular belief, babies hear in utero very well. its not muffled like our ears are when were under water. so, if your baby starts moving a lot - then it might be time to muffle your belly (with a thick coat) or perhaps just leave. my baby hates it when i go to the movies..so if i do go, i take a thick coat and wrap my belly. sounds extreme, but my baby doesn't have much room to do the kind of kicking she ends up doing when she's irritated!
***MDelly*** - Monday, 24 Mar Congrats on your baby girl!
lollipop76 - Saturday, 8 Mar Yes im lucky with maternity leave. Here in the uk its quite good. Im getting 8 wks full pay, then half pay plus SMP (Statutory maternity pay) that everyone gets from government for 18 wks (6 months)then from 6 -9months just SMP. Which is £114 per week (can't convert to dollars!). The government took mat leave upto 9 months from 6 months last year, so thats good for me!
lollipop76 - Thursday, 6 Mar Thanks for the message.Ive been keeping a diary & am in the process of typing it all out!!!Im only as far as week 16. Got til week 24!

Joy-S - Wednesday, 5 Mar Thank you so much for your comment! We DID see a heart beat!!! Best wishes!
bakerbabymom - Saturday, 1 Mar Thanks I think she's gorgeous too. I got her ears pierced at 2months old right after her 1st shots. I personally think that if you do them when they are babies then they won't mess with them as much. Good luck on your pregnancy!
levismom - Wednesday, 27 Feb Don't count out your little boy just yet. My cousin was pregnant with 'twin boys' When she delivered it was one girl. Can you imagine? Ultrasounds are not ALWAYS accurate. The only sure fire way would be to do a 3D ultrasound. There's no denying it then.
Baronsmom - Tuesday, 26 Feb HI, 10hours?! I don't think I've ever been able to sllep that long. You must have a bladder made of steel. Enjoy it while you can =) Once that Baby is born you will cherish two hours of sleep =) I am envious of you
mrt2153 - Wednesday, 20 Feb Thank you for your message! I hadn't thought of giving her a space in a closed off, protected space, like a closet. She and my other cat pretty much have the run of the place! I think I'll set up a cozy corner in a dark closet where she can chill. Maybe I'll let her into the nursery for a few minutes to check out some of the stuff we've received, too. Better to do it now, before the baby has arrived. Thanks again!
Boopy - Wednesday, 20 Feb We tried spraying her and that didn't work. She just got sneakier about it. LOL We are going to pet smart this weekend to get her the best post yet...and that spray you were talking about. We have 2 weeks before we move completely into our new home, so maybe she will just stop...but she loves our couch. Hopefully, she will hate the new one!!!! Have a great day! Heading off to work!
Boopy - Wednesday, 20 Feb I'm against it also, at least the old way. I heard they remove part of the toe!!!! With the laser way, no blood is involved...they just laser it down to the nail bed, and they can't grow. My hubby has a friend at work that had 3 of her older adopted cats done, and it didn't affect their personalities. That is what I'm hoping for. I don't want to hurt her, physically, or emotionally. :o( With the cats I have had in the past, they didn't use their nails on furniture, so I didn't have to worry about this.
Boopy - Wednesday, 20 Feb Hi there...well maybe I could still be carrying a girl. :o) Hey, I see you have cats. We adopted an older cat (6 years) about 4 months ago, and we just love her so. She is the sweetest thing. We are also moving into a new home in the next few weeks and my husband wants to get the cat declawed because she scratched up our couch. We are getting all new furniture and he will not allow this to happen again. She does not use her nails on us, only the furniture. I've tried everything to make her stop, and nothing works. Since she is older, I guess she is just stuck in her ways. Perhaps with the baby coming and all, it's best to just have it done. We are doing only the fronts, and we are having them removed via laser. I've read that it's less traumatic. Do your cats have nails? Thanks!!!!
beansmomma - Tuesday, 19 Feb Congrats on your pregnancy! First time here as well. Nervous? I am, I freak out at least once a week, but still so excited :o) Hope all is well!
EmilyS - Saturday, 16 Feb Congrats on your baby girl! I am due one day after you...or one day before you...depending on which date I will use that they have told me!! I am also expecting a girl...have you been feeling a LOT of emotion lately?? Ever since I found out last Monday...Ive been super excited, but soooo emotional!!!
marbear - Friday, 15 Feb Congrats!!!!!! We are also having a girl!!!!!!!!!!
CarrieE - Friday, 15 Feb Hi Katy! Congrats on your pregnancy! I am due 2 days after you and I'm having a little girl too!! My husband and I are thrilled to welcome Emma Grace into this world!! Good luck!

mommagin - Monday, 11 Feb hey there! i'm close to ya..here in corpus christi...and i visit there all the time cause my mom lives in houston as well...what a small world! congrats on your preggos!!! hope all goes well...take care!
mommy2ian - Monday, 11 Feb Boy Vibes for you tomorrow
sapphire1987 - Monday, 11 Feb hi congratulations on the pregnancy your only 6 days behind me. how do you feel.
preggers31 - Friday, 8 Feb Hi Katy, congrats on the pregnancy! Heart pounding and flutters come with the territory, and for the most part are nothing to worry about. Absolutely mention it to your doctor though - the pounding in your right ear especially. I feel my heart pound in my throat - it almost makes me sick :( How is your blood pressure? My heart pounds more when my blood pressure is down (oddly enough). If you feel any chest pain with the pounding, call doctor asap! Over all, I'd say you're just fine but feeling the effects of 50% more blood in your body!! :) good luck!
