Merry Christmas

Alex ~9 weeks, 2 days~

My baby

33 Weeks

Thursday 12/07/07
Here are some pics at 29 weeks! i am so much bigger!

Friday 1/06/07

Here are some new belly pics (22 weeks and 5 days)i took last night.....i look like a zebra lol check out those stretch marks....

Wednesday 30/5/07

Yay today is my birthday!! and my twin sister Janes ;) i have had a great day so far minus the six thirty start for work ;o. My work mates surprised me with cake at 9:00 this morning which was fantastic! there is nothing quite like cake for breakfast when there is a good excuse!....the plan for the rest of the day is to meet up with Jane around 2pm, pick up our other cake from bakery and then get some yummy food for dinner. Cant really be bothered doing the whole party thing this year as cant drink etc thus feel bit restricted thus having a quiet one with the people that are closest. 23 feels old.......seems like only yesterday i turned 18 thank God im not 18 still as that was a pretty self-indulgent time compared to now. xxxxxxx

Tuesday 29/5/07

I cant sleep......Maciek kept me awake snoring for most of last night so now i feel like shite and am craving cake :( tomorrow i plan to eat lots and lots as its me birthday :D Alex 'wakes' up now a few moments after i do...its cute but annoying in the middle of the night. I am feeling him more frequently every day. Have started to get really paranoid about the whole birth thing...i am thinking now i want to be heavily sedated...i am so frickin scared....God i mean its not like getting a tooth pulled which is hellish enough this is going to be the most painful horrid experience of my life! which no doubt will be forgotten 2 seconds after....we are special like that i guess.

Monday 28/5/07

About time i wrote an update. Well little Alex has become quite the acrobat in the last couple of days...i find that he starts moving around lots when i first wake up and at night...My sleep has been pretty broken the last few days as i am finding i need to get up more in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom- then Alex wakes up thumps around for a few mins then goes back to lala land. I am really starting to wonder what he looks like... it still feels so very surreal. None of my bras fit properly anymore and it really really sucks... i am too broke to buy any probably for another week... i just cannot beleive how much they have grown. So far i only have about three-four stretch marks with one starting right above my belly button going straight up. I really hope i dont turn out with a whole stomach full of them...i know they are 'battle scars' of sorts but man they look awful....no doubt i will be cursed with them though but i really dont want my belly marked like that :(. Maciek is being a bit better, i think he notices a bit more what i have been doing around the house as he is so frickin tired when he gets home from work i have been really trying to make an effort to keep on top of the housework and shopping. I really really need to get my drivers license as this whole no driving thing is really starting to stress the crap out of me......anyway to sum: i am feeling fantastic, alex seems like he is in no hurry to go anywhere (thank God!!!!!!) and he is not causing too many discomforts :) pregnancy rocks at the moment..wonder if i will be saying that in a couple of months....

We have decided on his name:

A L E K S A N D E R

aka Baby ALEX

Guess what guys:

Scan pics, 19 weeks 5 days

Looks like he is smiling here, this is my most favourite picture ever........i am going to get it framed this week. What a cute bubba oh i am so i love!

Check out his beautiful leggies

I love this pic, he looks umm like a real baby, not that i was expecting any less but omg the detail they have/are at this age.....i love his plump lil legs must be all the fries i have been craving lol

These pics make it clear lol

Later on Friday 11th May...

SCAN (11:45 am):

Here is a pic my lovely b/f took at the start of the scan with his mobile phone. He was smartly told that cameras were not permitted!! hehe i am glad he took it though x

Friday 11th May

Today i go for my 19 week U/S i am ssoooooooooooooooo nervous and excited to find out what it is and how much growth has taken place. I am hoping for a boy but will be happy with whatever i am given.

Will update in a little over 2hours!!!!!!!

Here is the first preggy pic of me at about 18 weeks:

Hi Katie- thanks for your reply! me and Ludwig have a similar schedule to you and Alex! Ludwigs sleeping has improved luckily! he now sleeps from 7:30 until 2:30 and goes down with some crying it out untill 7:00 but he always wakes up at 2:30 then he needs some crying in order from him to go to sleep and ive find that if he wakes up and i dont go in i just leave him to cry he will cry for 10 mins then fall asleep but if i go check on him every 5 mins it takes him longer to fall asleep on his own funny! but ive read in a book that babies this age usually cries at night out of anger because they dont want to sleep so if you check on them you only make them more angry cause they see you are up and they want you to pick them up so if you only as soon as they cry just go in and check if they are not intangled or cold or ...... but if they are fine leave and dont return then they will realise everyone is asleep and he must sleep too, im sure it wont work with all babies but it seems its the case with Ludwig! well take care!

Hi hun! im so glad to hear your little boy is sleeping so well! you must be so relieved that he is sleeping and you can get some sleep! please tell me excactly what you did and what your routines is cause i still need some help! my boy is sleeping better but not like i want him to sleep!

Myra - Tuesday, 15 July
Hi Katie- thank your for your reply! yes it seems we are in the same boat with our boys! lol my boy also loves cellphones and remote controls and yes he is throwing trantrums all the time! it is really annoying! If he throws a trantrum I just take him and put him in his crib and leave for 5min to cool down! I know what you mean about the pumping out i remember when my boy went to daycare I struggled to pump out enough for him to send to daycare, lucky for me i work for my dad so my dad sayed i can take him to work with me! and i only work half day and do my admin at home! I think i will also visit the general board and see what interesting conversations you girls have there! we also have marmite here in South Africa its quite popular here too! when i was pregnant all i ate was fruit and toast with marmite! I dont really mind the early wakenings as long as he sleeps at least 6-8 hours straight at night! im wish ive done the cry it out thing earlier it is the only thing thats working for us at the moment! I hope your son has a good night toninght! last night before i put my son to sleep i layed my hands on him and prayed to God for a good nights sleep and to make him calm! and it helped! and i thought of in the bible says we must dicipline our children and its true we must learn our children good habbits from the start and this is just the beginning of difficult things to come but we as parents must stay consistent and firm! lol just something serious to share for the day! take care and good luck!

Myra - Tuesday, 15 July
Hi Katie- im so glad your baby is sleeping now! ive relised that the only way to get a bad sleeping baby to sleep is cry it out and not feeding at night and now my son is also sleeping beter last night he went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 4am feed and slept untill 6am and was wide awake i know its early but its better than the night awakenings! I also go to bed early now so that i to can wake up at 6am and feel refreshed! i feel so better now ive learned the trick is to be firm and stick to the plan! But Ludwig is still very clingy during the day my arm is so sore at the end of the day holding him and working with the other arm! im glad to hear your baby is eating good now! some day i want to go to NZ and see the snow ive never seen snow in my life! how much teeth does your baby have? what kind of things does your baby eat now? my baby loves small pieces of bannana and avo that he can chew! and he loves it if dad feeds him if dad is at home he does not want me to feed him he wants food from his dad im just the milk lady now! lol take care

KelliMG - Monday, 14 July
Katie...congrats on making it work for you. It was what I had to do for my boys as well as for DH and myself. It usually took us 2-3 nights, but each night was less and less fussing. It was very excruciating as a parent as your instincts are to run in and pick them up and cuddle. I needed sleep more than I needed to be "needed" by my baby...LOL I can't help but stress for other's that it isn't a cure all for everyone, and not every child can handle it, but, you do have to be consistant, and within days it will work. Your baby is adorable BTW!!!

amandaandpip - Monday, 14 July
Hi Katie..my daughter is now 6 and I did exactly the same with her!! I felt cruel, and used to question my actions every night but after a while (sorry, so long now I can't remember!) she settled. And it was wonderful every morning for both of us to be fresh and wide awake to enjoy each others company!!! Since then she has always slept and gone to bed well...keep it up!! It really is worth it!!

Myra - Saturday, 12 July
Hi sweetie- im so sorry to hear you having a bad night! but dont worry i spoke to soon just as I thought Ludwig's sleeping has improved he hits me with a bad night last night being up every 30-60 minutes luckily it was weekend so my hubby took him in the morning so that i can get an extra couple of hours of sleep in! but im still continuing with my sleep training I dont pick him up at night only at 4:30am for a feed but i dont let him cry it out i go to him if he cries and just stand next to his crib giving the dummy and stroking his head untill he falls asleep so after a few weeks of this not working im gonna do the cry it out wait 5 minutes then gradually making it more cause I NEED SOME SLEEP and im trying everything now but im patient so every method im giving it a few weeks try and then move onto a new plan! if you do find something in your book that helps please share! take care!

Myra - Friday, 11 July
Hi girl- yes im lucky Ludwig likes hes dummy he was born with one lol the dummy is a real life saver and a very good soother but i think im gonna struggle to ween him off his dummy! anyway the teething is not so good cause he is so cranky and yes its throwing our routine all upside down it feels like i have a newborn again he wants to bf every 2 hours and dont want food he only wants small bites of what ever im eating! mostly only banannas and avo! luckily the sleeping seems to improve i just hope it continues to improve! but hes so clingy i cant even put him down for one second or he screems! he will only let me put him down if its outside on the grass he loves grass! ive learned to cook and do everything with a baby on the hip! well hope everything is going well with your little guy! take care!

My guy is 9 months old today. He is 21 lbs and 29 inches (size of a 1 year old). He wears 12-18 months clothes as well.

PS not sure if you tried it, but Millie LOVES LOVES LOVES cruskits and rice bubles (dry). She eats cruskit after cruskit (the corn ones seem harder, but have no baddies in them, the normal ones are softer and she prefers them, but there is a wee bit of sugar I think) and ricies she just picks up dry off her high chair tray and eats them.

JenniNZ - Wednesday, 9 July
hey, they sound pretty similar. I was worried as she seems so temperamental and aggressive sometimes. But then I remember it's just frustration. I think the smart ones are like that. Yeah she went full formula at 3 months and slept through from then. About once a month she wakes for about 2 or 3 nights in a row and I just feed her as I have learnt through trial and error that she must be having a growth spurt then. The rest of the time she sleeps 11 hours solid. But yeah I found that out through luck. One night I wore both earplugs and forgot the monitor and she slept through! Go figure ;-) I know if she really cries I do hear her so I dont worry anymore.

She doesnt crawl either, slides around on her tummy backwards and just this week started sticking her bum up in the air a wee bit too. Alot happier on the floor now, getting into all sorts of new positions and always ending up under the couch!

We got sent loads of hand me down clothes from the UK from her cousin. We were so lucky. I swear i have bought maybe 20 items myself since she was born! I cant believe Alex eats Japanese! teehee x

owensmommabear - Wednesday, 9 July
Hi katie! I was just reading your post about your baby sleeping through the night. My 9 month old sleeps from 9 pm to 6 or 7 am. What I figure is your best bet, is to just change his routine. Change his nap schedule. Say, nap starts at 5-6 pm and ends whenever. Then try putting him to bed at 9:30 with a bath before. After his supper time nap play, play, play, then bath then bed. If you can put up with mr. grumpy for a few nights he should get into this and you may be able to get a few more hours sleep. My little guys supper is at 5-5:30 every evening, then his nap. Have you tried going outside for a hour or so inthe evening? I find with that it really knocks them out for the night! Just thought i'd try and help ya out. Best of luck getting him to sleep for the night!!

JenniNZ - Wednesday, 9 July
thanks hone. Millie is a great sleeper most of the time, just that kind of person I think, just like me. But to be fair she only slept through after we switched to full formula, I think she used to be peckish alot. but also I sleep with earplugs in now, and I think it means we only hear her if she really kicks off, and thats a good thing as having shared a room with her in the UK I now know she grizzles alot in her sleep and I think I used to rush in too fast. Good luck with the food and hopefully he wont be too sick! Poor wee mite and poor you! So how are you finding working again? Is your hubby house husband or have you got him in nursery?

Myra - Sunday, 6 July
Hi Katie- i dont think you should worry about your little guy not being interested in solids ive heard of people only giving there babies breastmilk for 2 years and the babies was very healthy! just nurse him and then after 2 hours try solids if he is not interested then give him milk! and then dont worry about it breastmilk is the perfect food for a baby anyway! but i say only give him fresh raw fruits for solids that you blend yourself for now cause it has lots of vitamins and it is easily digested so your baby wont get stomach cramps just make sure its blended to a smooth texcture! im sure he will be better soon dont worry! im gonna breastfeed my baby untill he is 2 years old and if some days he is also not so interested in food and then i just breastfeed him more and other days he just wants food and then i worry hes not getting enough milk! take care!

fallenfairy - Sunday, 6 July
I'm sorry to hear that your baby is sick, I hope he feels better very soon! Seth has been sick twice so far. The first time he was sooo congested! poor little man, with a cough and a fever that lasted a day. The second time it only lasted a day, and all it was was a fever and fussiness.

But I'm lucky, he's never had anything unusual, he never even spit up that often when he was little. Overall I just feel very lucky. Although he has been teething for what seems like forever! How many teeth does your little man have so far?

Myra - Sunday, 6 July
Hi Katie- im so sorry to hear about your son being ill i hope he gets well soon! i know how it feels if your baby gets ill its not nice and you dont get any sleeps its awfull! you must try to give him only fresh raw pureed fruits that you puree yourself in a blender like soft pears and apple or ripe bannana or avo or papaya it will give him the good vitamin C and A and other vitamins that his little body can utilize fast cause raw fruits are digested very quick and will help your son to get better very soon! try it it helped my son i started giving him only fresh raw fruits and he has not gotton sick in a long while now it helps and try to ilimenate wheat and dairy from your diet cause it does cause slime and makes and it make a cold worse eat lost of fruit and veggies thats what ive been doing and me and my baby feel much better and he is sleeping better also! take care im thinking of you!

fallenfairy - Thursday, 3 July
