My name is Katie, I'm 22 years old and this is my first pregnancy. I'm 10 weeks along now, so far everything has been fine. I was feeling a little queasy for a couple weeks, but I've only gotten sick a couple of times, I've been having some trouble sleeping, which makes the work days pretty hard. I think my lack of sleep has a lot to do with stress.

I've had 2 doctors appointments so far. One at 5 1/2 weeks, when I first found out and one last week when I was 9 1/2 weeks. All my blood tests were good, my blood pressure's a little low, and I've lost 5 pounds since my last doctors appointment. Other then that everything looks good. My next appointment is on March 11th! :)

March 11th: I had my 3rd doctors appointment today! at 12 1/2 weeks and I heard the heart beat!! It was 160 BPM. It was so exciting, and it made it so much more real!

July 4th: It's been a while since I've written! We found out it's a boy at 15 weeks!! but it was so early I was scared to go buy anything blue.. just in case the sonographer was wrong. I had another u/s at 19 weeks and confirmed, he's a he! I went right out and started buying little boy outfits! :) We've decided on Xavier Jonathan for the name

Lincoln (daddy) and I moved into our new 2 bedroom place on the 1st of May, and I didn't waste any time setting up the nursery! I was a little disapointed because the landlord said he would paint it for us before we moved in.. but he only paited 2 walls blue and left the others white.. it definatly doesn't look as good. He said it would be "too much" if they were all blue. But isn't that my choice? oh well.. I guess it doesn't look THAT bad. We have so mcuh stuff for Xavier already! All my friends are asking me what I need for my baby shower... and there's not much I can tell them.

I had to stop working a couple weeks ago. I used to work at a Shipyard as a labourer, and they didn't exactly take it easy on me. I was treated really bad because everyone said I shouldn't be there. I was being as careful as I could be.. I couldn't quit because I needed the money. So I stuck it out as long as I could. But at 6 1/2 months pregnant they still had me climbing around engine rooms, scaling motors and crawling through pipes.. I just couldn't do it anymore. I was getting SO tired!! I wouldnt' even had time to eat a big enough meal on our lunch break because I would curl up on the floor of the engine room and sleep for a 1/2 an hour. Not to mention how dangerous it is climbing around 15 feet off the ground on a 2 inch wide steel support beam to get from motor to motor, when your center of gravity is WAY off.

My aunt might help me out for a while, working on her farm, just to get a little extra money. But for now I'm off work.. getting a little bored. Trapped in my apartment all day doing nothing but counting down the days till Xavier is here
