This is our first baby and we're SO excited! We got pregnant after 2 months of trying, and I know that it usually takes longer, but I was so impatient that when we didn't get pregnant the first month, I wanted to go to the Dr for testing! Lol. I had no symptoms until the day I took the pg test & got a + ... and I only needed one test to convince me! ... After that my bbs started getting sore and I got a little crampy. I've had very little m/s, luckily. However, there has been a decent amount of spotting over the last few weeks. At our 1st ultrasound, though (7 wks,) the tech said we have an excellent heartbeat (131 bpm) and everything looked good. We're taking it day-by-day and hoping everything stays healthy-- I'm feeling optimistic. We have our 2nd u/s on 2/18, and I can't wait to see more detail!
This will be the first grandbaby for both sides of the family, so I think it will not have a lack of attention. Both of our familys will be living nearby so we'll have plenty of helping hands!
So as of today, 2/4/08, we're 8 wks, 5 days.
Congrats to all the other parents-to-be on the site!
Well, we had another u/s yesterday and -- Oh My Gosh! Our bean is not a bean anymore! It was bouncing up and down flapping it's arms like a little birdie! Lol! That was so amazing! It`s heartrate is 180 bpm now. We have pics of it's little feet and it's face! I'll try to get them posted here today. The nurse said she thinks it could be a boy, but it's way too early to paint the room blue. ;-) I've had it in my head that our "bean" was a girl this whole time, but ever since a dream I had of a little blond baby boy a couple weeks ago, I've wondered... it will be interesting to find out in a couple months! Even though I've been wishing for a girl ever since my parents never gave me a sister, I'll be so excited if it's a boy!
Oh, BTW, my spotting stopped a few days ago-- I think it's gone for good this time. I had asked my Dr to do a progesterone test with my bloodwork at my last visit. The levels came back at 15, which is on the low side of normal. I think that is what was causing the spotting. I think now the placenta has taken over making the progesterone and we're good to go! We're taking a trip up to Portland to see Grandma and Grandpa tomorrow. I'm sure they'll love to see the pics! ...
Hmmm... I should probably post more often so I'm not cramming so much into one! This is looking busy!
Well, we got back from my inlaws' up in Portland this week. They'll be moving down here in a few months so we were helping them pack and clean a bit. Wes' mom had a beautifil dresser made by her great great grandfather-- it was just sitting in the garage, and she asked if we wanted it! It will be perfect for the baby and will be a wonderful family heirloom, so of course I said yes! We've already had almost all the furniture loaned or donated to us, plus my mother can't stop buying baby clothes, so I don't even know if we'll need a baby shower (not that that will stop me from having one!)
We go in for another u/s on Monday-- I always like those. We'll see if the Dr still thinks it looks like a boy.
So, I'm finally starting to show a little at 12.5 weeks. Mom and I went and bought maternity clothes yesterday. That was fun because they have this little faux belly to wear when trying things on! Surprisingly, not all of it looks like maternity-- got a pair of pants that fit already!
Well, I'm hungry again, so I'm off to scrounge up something tasty. I hope everyone who has been so nice to comment on my page is doing well and feeling great. I'll check in soon!
