Tuesday, 22 Jan
Well, I have almost reached my 13th week! I am very excited. I had a D&C on 6 June 07 after a miscarriage. I am so excited to finally be almost out of the first trimester. I have heard the baby `s heart beat and seen it on ultrasound. Right now, it is beating at about 160 BPM, which makes me really happy! This pregnancy has been very stressful. . .I live in Europe and my hubby lives in the states. Plus, the prior miscarriage takes away some of the joys of pregnancy. . .I worry alot about losing this one, too. I hope all my stressing won `t harm the baby, so I am really trying to get a hold on it. Otherwise, this is a really exciting time for me!

Friday, 29 Feb
I had an ultrasound 3 days ago! The baby looks great and all of the prenatal screening tests have come back normal. I asked the ultrasound technician and doctor not to tell me the baby `s sex (my husband could not come to the ultrasound and he wanted to find out together). They wrote it on a card for me, but during the ultrasound, I heard the doctor say `she `s playing with her feet `, so I have a strong inclination that my baby is a GIRL! We `ll see, though. I didn `t tell my husband, though, because I didn `t want to disappoint him. It is hard keeping it to myself, though. I was hoping for a boy initially, but I am happy either way. I can `t wait to finally meet my baby 4-5 months from now!

My husband and I are getting on each others ` nerves today! Ha, ha. We don `t live together at the moment, unfortunately, but we talk all of the time. He always asks how I am doing, and since I didn `t want to lie today and say `Fine! ` I told him the truth (I still have morning sickness, achiness in my lower stomach and breasts, backaches, headaches, trouble sleeping, etc., so I told him so). He didn `t sympathize at all. Then I asked him if he `s thought of any names for the baby, and he says `Suzy Q and Betty Sue ` trying to be funny. I got mad and yelled for a while. Oh, well. My mom thought it was really funny, but I was not amused. Men aren `t always the most understanding creatures, are they? I wish that he was here though, because this is hard to do this alone sometimes. Oh, well, I just had to vent for a minute. On a good note, I will be going to the states to visit him in a few weeks and we will find out the sex of the baby (even though I think I know)! We are going to have a private ultrasound. I really can `t wait!

Thursday, 1 May

Everything seems to be going well so far. I am a little achey sometimes in the lower abdominal area, but the baby kicks and squirms all of the time, which is great. We are pretty sure that the baby is a girl now. I love her so much. I can't believe that I am 27 weeks already. Time has gone by so fast! What's really neat is that I talk to my husband every night on the phone and he always talks to the baby. I put the phone on my abdomen and as soon as he starts to talk, she kicks just about every time! It's so cool that she can hear his voice and respond to it. So far, I have gained 24 pounds, which sucks, but I passed my glucose tolerance test with flying colors and my blood pressure continues to stay low. Plus, I am finally going back to the states for good on 30 May. I have already begun the countdown! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do much shopping to get ready for the baby while I have been in Germany. Everything is so expensive on the economy and there is not much of a selection at the PX. Oh, well. I will just go all out when I get back! My husband and I are hosting a 'Name Our Baby' contest for all of our relatives and friends. . .just for name suggestions. It's been really fun so far!

Thank you so much for the advise. I will be going to the drug store tonight to try it. I'm sure with your job you have pregnant women coming in all the time to ask you what they can take for all sorts of things! It's so nice of you to share your advice with others! Thanks again!

i think the closest you'll get to baby warehouse is Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby. where are you moving to in the US?

wedward - Wednesday, 14 May
Yeah, I was on bedrest for a month, but can do some things now, just been told to take it easy. That's almost impossible when you have a baby on the way and nothing done in the nursery!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. Yeah, I did have a great mother's day. Lots of blessings sent my way. Although, I miss my hubby so it's hard to focus.

Anyway, we will see how these next few weeks fly by.

To me, it seems like thousands of years!

Smiles,

Debora :-)

Too bad about the crazy landlord, but the bright side is you are as good as gone! I have had packers before and they were fine, Just keep an eye as you would anyone else. The count down begins, LOL and in less than three weeks and you are back in the USA!

About the nursery decor- I registered for all of my decor at babysupermall.com. They have so much to choose from and you can see an up close view of the material and products by zooming in. They are comparable to babies are us but a bigger selection. There are also nice collections at babiesrus where you can touch and feel the fabric, just not as much to choose from.

thanks!

Hi. When are you moving to the states? I would recommend going to the store to pick things out. But in the US there are other, less expensive options than Babies R Us. Target has a good selection, you could also try Walmart, Kmart, and Buy Buy Baby. I would suggest shopping around online first, then go into the stores to make sure you get the what you want. I am waiting for my baby shower before I do any shopping. Good luck to you!

Hey there! How's the packing coming? Hope you had a good Mother Day!

carolynjh - Tuesday, 13 May
Thank you! Thank you for the advice, I just needed a little direction since I have no idea what to do about this! Hope you had a great mother's day, we are lucky to have you on here with such great knowledge of medicines and remedies :):):)

You can really SEE the umbilical cord in your pictures! Unlike mine that are just blurry. Not sure what the guy was doing who did ours. Oh well, it was fun to get a sneek peek!

Things are going great, thanks for the sweet comment about the nursery :) I have 2 ambitious friends who each did a wall with a checkerboard pattern of 5 colors, which is what i wanted to do, but it is really tedious, so I did this instead. I am flattered you want to copy my idea! You'll have to post pics and let me know how you did yours :) How have you been feeling?

fabforty - Tuesday, 6 May
I know, this boy feels really heavy these days too. I was at a Christening on Sunday and everyone kept commenting that my belly had really popped since the last time I saw them (which was a month ago!) People are so funny. I hear you with the shopping. It has been tough not buying anything but I literally have not bought anything in a month, I'm pretty proud of that, since I'm a shopoholic girl!

faithmarie - Saturday, 3 May
I saw my doctor yesterday and she said not to worry about counting movements. She just said that as long as I'm feeling my baby girl move at least two times a day that I shouldn't worry about it. Sounds good to me, I feel her moving on and off throughout the day.....

fabforty - Friday, 2 May
That's so cute. I'm doing ok.Jordan is kicking away and I feel like he grew in the last week because he is definitely getting heavier. Like you, I'm getting a little anxious. I think it is because of all the baby shower talk and I have to go to my bestfriends baby's christening on Sunday and wishing Jordan would there with us...I guess he will though:)We really can't complain because the time has really gone by quickly!

Military-wifey - Friday, 2 May
Yes he's there...........He just left in March. He'll be here sometime next month for 2wks then he's gone til Christmas (I hope) you never know!!! We found out the same week his orders started for training that we were pregnant.......no more for me cause he was over there when I was pregnant w/ my 1st.........and when his son's mom was pregnant. Maybe if we stop at the 3 we have he won't have to go back!!!:) How's pregnancy treating you?
