Thursday, 19 June Hey maybe you can talk him into second middle name and that can be the name you use? Or perhaps there are some fun nicknames for Stephen that you can use, like: Stevie, or Phen (Ven.) I feel for you and would be furious is my husband was insistent on a name. We are both going to pick a name that we both like. Period. Doesn't seem fair otherwise. bowling4 -
Thursday, 19 June Don't feel bad...my husband wouldn't budge on William Rufus Bowling V!!!! There will be 4 living generations with this name. While I understand it is important to him....I am a little upset that I have no say in it. I am the one who is carrying the little guy for 9 months!! On the bright side...he appears to be healthy, so that is the most important thing. Good Luck! : ) LoriVan -
Thursday, 19 June hi my husband named our first after him making my son the 5th in line to have the name ! i didn't think the name would fit my son but it does. I think i got over it by thinking that it was one of the nicest gifts i could give my husband. he didn't protest to the names i picked out for the other kids or for this fourth one i am currently preggers with. hopefully you two can come to a happy compromise! many blessings to you and yours. michellelaughs -
Thursday, 19 June oh yea, and if you dont think braiden and steven go good together, think of how many ppl's middle names you actually know. I cant think of many, family only ,so who cares when nobodys ever going to hear the two names together? michellelaughs -
Thursday, 19 June kehl-
there are 2 things that come to mind.
1- name him Steven Braiden and you can call him braiden, others may as well or
2- name him Braiden Steven and your hubby can call him Steven if he likes
Alot of ppl have nick names so being called more than one name is common. Your hubby already gets to pass down his last name so you should have some input too. I have a problem with having to name my baby something I do not like but someone giving on the middle name is a way of compromise. professorpreggers -
Thursday, 19 June Hi there! I read your post about naming your son. I had a hard and fast rule before we even got pregnant that our baby wouldn't be named after anybody in the family. It just seems to always breed politics and bad blood on either side of the fam. My honest oppinon is that you should not name your child something you don't want to. If it's not going to be a delight to call out your child's name and it dosen't sound fitting and right to you as the MOTHER WHO CARRIED THE CHILD IN HER WOMB FOR NINE/TEN MONTHS, then don't do it. Of course guys love the idea of having sons named after them--my hubby already has the whole macho "my son" thing going on but you are never obligated to name a child after anybody else. If you love other names, carefully tell your partner that you have other ideas and he needs to think about them. I gave my hubby a list of names that I loved with middle names as well. He thought about them for several weeks and eventually he came around and chose the one I wanted. Most men at the end of all of this have the sense to see what we've gone through in making this baby and deep down most men don't actually feel like they have the right to push a name on thier partners, although some will try. Don't be pushed into naming your child something that is always going to make you feel regret later on. Good luck:) J.baby -
Thursday, 19 June about the name for the baby...It would make total sense to give your son the middle name Steve or Steven because it is in the family, I would just suggest to hubby that you want to see your baby boy before you decide to give him his first name, and settle on a "family name" for the middle name. Have several boys names on hand and decide at the hospital.
My husband was adamant about naming our son after his brother(Jared) at first, now he is over it. It just took lots of time and patience of saying "honey, im not sure yet...its too early, lets come up with some alternatives just in case." Now, he is dead set on the middle name being his fathers name(Alvin), which is kinda boring...but i figure at least he wants it as a middle name...and the kid rarely will ever hear his name unless he is in big trouble
good luck! keep us posted on what happens
The hubbys just want to feel that they have made some kind of contribution...middle names will do :) 20BabyBump08 -
Thursday, 19 June Does he not care that you dont really want it?

Thursday, 19 June I have chosen the name for a girl but Im not allowed no say in what to call a boy
he wants it to have Michael in it as thats his name, his dads name, his grandads name & his brothers middle name but I think it is really silly how they are all the same. Have you talked to your partner ? Maybe he would agree to have stephen as a middle name? MKsAngel -
Wednesday, 18 June If you're in the Philippines and getting a Developmental package =) Mine is a package of 5 sessions that's why they compile it.
I believe if it's a routine 3D4D, you do get the pictures right after. I just have no idea if you get a DVD too. Andrea1222 -

Tuesday, 17 June hmm i go to froedert/childrens birth center and i didnt get it last time. i will ask my ob next time i go, i get really good ultrasounds, when i went in at 11 weeks i could see the eyes, nose and lips and everything, its not as picture perfect as the 3d one but good, so we will see what she says. but if not yeah some information will be good! MKsAngel -
Tuesday, 17 June Hahahaha I did that too the 2nd time. Downed a coke AND a coke float. I think it might work better though if you drink it maybe 30mins before the session. With my first, it was already during the session that she was hiding as she was sleeping so I was drinking it while I was laid down... it didn't work as fast. I was in there for about 1.5 hrs! Tuesday, 17 June Thanks!! I'll cross my fingers that he's not camera shy and give you real good shots! My lil one's camera shy so I drink coke prior to my session lol. Andrea1222 -

Monday, 16 June I am officially sick of your 6lbs!!
.
If your doctor says that everything is fine, I really believe you have nothing to worry about at all... are you showing much of a belly? I know plenty of girls who gain 15-20lbs the entire pregnancy and not put on the real weight gain until the last few months. Me, I think I gained weight the day I saw my test say positive!!

Monday, 9 June Braxton hicks contractions. Caused by the excess of blood down there. I've just started getting them. had one last night and..ouch! Good luck. darcy -
Monday, 9 June Read your comment, those are B/H contractions - I got them too so bad that my doc told me no more O's for me for the remainder of this pregnancy, I had preterm labor w/ my son so they advised that it's wise not push my luck this time around. Although they say it's ok as long as the contractions subside and not get stronger afterward, You should ask your doctor though! Good luck with your pregnancy! :) cathyb -
