Hey ladies! Well I wanted to quick type in my birth story (even though it happened a week ago, haha) Ive just been so busy. So it was last monday, the 4th of feb, and I woke up that morning around 430 am with the worst diareah (i know i know its gross, but its tru) and I had what seemed to be real bad cramps. Which I figured was just from having to go to the bathroom.... So i got back into bed, and kept having to get up and use the bathroom... Then I noticed the "cramps" seemed to get more stronger and closer together, and at that point I knew it was contractions. so i wasnt sure wether to call the doc yet, my water hadnt broken, yet I was leaking a little bit (I kind of figured it would be a gush of fluid or something.) and mine wasnt so... Finally, i felt a little trickle down my leg and decided to call my doctor. (dont ya love all the details im giving! haha)
So it was 830am when my doc told me to come on in and get checked out... We arrived at the hosp around 9am, and the contractions had gotten worse. They examined me and said they didnt think my water broke and that I might be sent home... (argh) I knew that my water had broken though, or slowly was anyway. so they did a test to see if it truly broke, and for sure it had! What an exciting feeling when the nurse came in and said "well, hope you brought your bag, your being admitted, your water broke!" ahh it was so exciting. So they got me to my room, and we started to get things settled. I met with the anethesiologist around 10am to talk about the epidural, and by 12-30 I was asking for it! I was only dilated 3cm and was 85% thinned out, but the contractions were just brutal! I couldnt think straight, let alone breathe right during them, so I decided to give in and get it. and WOW what a relief.... Epidurals are truly amazing. so I was comfy and napping by 1-30pm... (and for those of you who think the epi will hurt, it DOESNT and I highly recommend it.) so they checked me around 3pm and I was 5cm... then they checked me around 6pm and said I was ready to push because I was just about 10cm and only had a little bit of cervix left.
so by the time they got everything prepped and ready I was beginning to push around 645. (talk about quick dilation, right? I thought i did pretty good for a first time baby) so i started pushing, and wow what a job to have to do. The epi had kind of wore off, but I still was comfortable. Didnt feel pain, just really bad pressure when she was coming down. so I was pushing until 730 when the doc came in and said that her heart rate kept rising really high and we had to get her out asap... well of course i started to freak. they said I was pushing really well, but for some reason she wasnt coming out. Well, here, her head was coming in kind of side ways, which was making it difficult for her to get past my pelvis. So the doc said we have to use to vaccuum and suction herout, we have 3 tries to do this and if it doesnt work we have to do an emergency csection... my heart fell into my butt and i cant tell you how HARD i was pushing after they told me that. Finally on the 5th try, we got it, and I delivered her!!!! I was so happy that we didnt have to do a c section and that she cameout ok and healthy. 7-55pm she was born. 8lb 3oz. 21 1/1 in long. and the most beautiful little angel to ever be born! I have to get some pics up. she is amazing.
I will be praying for all of you moms who are still awaiting your little ones@!!! I hope it comes soon!!!
