Fetal Dances, DIY Belly Bands, Weight Gains
Locke is moving, moving, moving. All over. In the ribs, on the bladder, under the belly button. Last week Sheridan got to feel him move for the first time; even though he's been moving for a long time, he would always kick just after he moved his hands away or stop right when he put them on- NOT ANYMORE. Sheridan was able to see him poke and jut through my stomach and watch it jump and move. That's always been my favorite part ever since I felt him move and was like "Hmm, I wonder if I look down if I could see it..." And I did. Anyway, I'm just now thinking that he could possible be having hiccups alot because he moves SO MUCH.
Also, I just want to share my idea with everyone. Depending on your size, you can buy much smaller tshirts (kids tshirts work for me) from the thrift store in all kinds of colors for .25-1.00$ each. Then you cut off the bottom portion of the shirt probably 8-10 inches (depending on your size) and wear the tube of fabric that you cut off underneath a shirt that may be a little too short or to cover unzipped and unbuttoned jeans or just to make a layered look that tends to flatter pregnant women. It can also be used to cover the bunchy-ness that alot of maternity jeans create right above and around your butt and hips. Its cheap and makes outfits more colorful, flattering, and fun to put on. Come on, we all know how hard it can be to find something to wear these days.
And weight gains seems to be a hot topic lately. I was shocked to find out I'd only gained 6 lbs. Then I had to stop and think about how since I got pregnant I don't eat for comfort anymore- just for taste, and I actually do more than I would have/did before I concieved. I go hiking and walk around all the time, never sit at home and eat or 'relax' just because I'm pregnant, don't run to the store to get ice cream or chips every time I feel like I want them- just because I'm pregnant. I think that that's just it- I don't have a case of the "just-because-I'm-pregnant"s. So when people are astounded by the fact that theyve gained 16, 20, or 40 lbs already, they need to take a second to analyze how many times they've justified doing something with just because I'm pregnant. I'm not trying to be critical of anyone because I think that the weight gain and aesthetic transformations are just part of the package ( I can look at old pictures of myself and see a huge difference in just the way I look or my face or tone) and alllllllll pregnant women take on somewhat of a "pregnant appearance" and it's accepted by everyone but ourselves, sometimes. But all the world loves a pregnant woman, no matter what the numbers on a scale say. There is no secret, you just can't have an attitude change about selfdiscipline once you get pregnant and can't use it to excuse yourself from moderately good eating habits and physical activity. I love everyone and all pregnant bodies, though, that's just my story and my philosophy.

3hour Glucose, Colds, Kicks, and DIY Onesies!
I
have and have kept a cold for the last 2 weeks and in the last 3 days
it had come back full force. I take my vitamins and eat well and stay
going all the time so I don't know how it sticks around so long.
Anyway,
I had to go for a 3 hour glucose test because my one-hour results were
3 points over the cut-off. IT IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY PREGNANCY!!
Its actually only the second time I have ever gotten sick feeling
throughout the whole 25 weeks. It probably has alot to do with my
horrible cold, uncomfortable previous nights of sleep, and the fasting
beforehand. That drink they give you has twice as much sugar as the one
you drink for the regular one-hour test- 8oz (smaller than a coke) with
100 grams of sugar (4 times more than a coke).
Long story short,
they had to give me a bed in bone density testing room because I was
out of it, pale, nauseated, weak, and just generally uncomfortable and
sick feeling.
Other than that! Little Locke is kicking me all the
time and I love it!! I've been decorating onesies that I got for
25cents at the thrift store. I got patches and iron-on-transfers that
you make on your printer, and paint, and stencils, and iron-on letters,
and stamps. I'm just not satisfied with onesies that you can buy in
stores- they just don't fit mine or his daddy's style!
hah, love the 'overalls'
heh soooo cute!!!
awww hes got a cute little face! hmm, those ears look ideal for gauging. haha! i got up to 5/8' like 7 years back and they never went back to normal after i took them out! i had to get them sewn up. it was SICK!!!
aww look at him!! :D
awww bebe!! hes a cutie! you and papa enjoying it so far?
wow, you look really good! i don't think i pull that off pregnant or not pregnant!
did you get that bathing suit at target? i saw it and loved it. but, my belly is gross. yours is adorable so you can pull it off :P |
