I'm Kellie and I'm pregnant and totally loving it. I'm a tattooed mommy-to-be, in love with a tattooed and modified (3 inch stretched earlobes) daddy.
It's a boy and his name is Locke William Lanning- he is my first and he was not planned but not questioned once after I peed on a stick that told me my future on October 16.
Daddy's name is Sheridan and he is a body piercer/official Goodwill donations collector. We live right outside of Asheville NC with a 10 month old Chocolate Labrador named Cuyro who is like having a child already. I'm due June 11 and cannot stop counting days until this idea and feeling inside my stomach becomes a real tangible, snugglable, sniffable, loveable, real, moving person with little eyes and hands and legs.

I plan on using this page to put my ideas, fun pregnancy projects, and thoughts on pregnancy out there. And to make sure I'm normal by talking to other pregnant girls and keeping track of pregnancy milestones, progress, doctors appointment news, and baby stuff!!

Fetal Dances, DIY Belly Bands, Weight Gains

Locke is moving, moving, moving. All over. In the ribs, on the bladder, under the belly button. Last week Sheridan got to feel him move for the first time; even though he's been moving for a long time, he would always kick just after he moved his hands away or stop right when he put them on- NOT ANYMORE. Sheridan was able to see him poke and jut through my stomach and watch it jump and move. That's always been my favorite part ever since I felt him move and was like "Hmm, I wonder if I look down if I could see it..." And I did. Anyway, I'm just now thinking that he could possible be having hiccups alot because he moves SO MUCH.

Also, I just want to share my idea with everyone. Depending on your size, you can buy much smaller tshirts (kids tshirts work for me) from the thrift store in all kinds of colors for .25-1.00$ each. Then you cut off the bottom portion of the shirt probably 8-10 inches (depending on your size) and wear the tube of fabric that you cut off underneath a shirt that may be a little too short or to cover unzipped and unbuttoned jeans or just to make a layered look that tends to flatter pregnant women. It can also be used to cover the bunchy-ness that alot of maternity jeans create right above and around your butt and hips. Its cheap and makes outfits more colorful, flattering, and fun to put on. Come on, we all know how hard it can be to find something to wear these days.

And weight gains seems to be a hot topic lately. I was shocked to find out I'd only gained 6 lbs. Then I had to stop and think about how since I got pregnant I don't eat for comfort anymore- just for taste, and I actually do more than I would have/did before I concieved. I go hiking and walk around all the time, never sit at home and eat or 'relax' just because I'm pregnant, don't run to the store to get ice cream or chips every time I feel like I want them- just because I'm pregnant. I think that that's just it- I don't have a case of the "just-because-I'm-pregnant"s. So when people are astounded by the fact that theyve gained 16, 20, or 40 lbs already, they need to take a second to analyze how many times they've justified doing something with just because I'm pregnant. I'm not trying to be critical of anyone because I think that the weight gain and aesthetic transformations are just part of the package ( I can look at old pictures of myself and see a huge difference in just the way I look or my face or tone) and alllllllll pregnant women take on somewhat of a "pregnant appearance" and it's accepted by everyone but ourselves, sometimes. But all the world loves a pregnant woman, no matter what the numbers on a scale say. There is no secret, you just can't have an attitude change about selfdiscipline once you get pregnant and can't use it to excuse yourself from moderately good eating habits and physical activity. I love everyone and all pregnant bodies, though, that's just my story and my philosophy.

3hour Glucose, Colds, Kicks, and DIY Onesies!

I have and have kept a cold for the last 2 weeks and in the last 3 days it had come back full force. I take my vitamins and eat well and stay going all the time so I don't know how it sticks around so long.
Anyway, I had to go for a 3 hour glucose test because my one-hour results were 3 points over the cut-off. IT IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY PREGNANCY!! Its actually only the second time I have ever gotten sick feeling throughout the whole 25 weeks. It probably has alot to do with my horrible cold, uncomfortable previous nights of sleep, and the fasting beforehand. That drink they give you has twice as much sugar as the one you drink for the regular one-hour test- 8oz (smaller than a coke) with 100 grams of sugar (4 times more than a coke).
Long story short, they had to give me a bed in bone density testing room because I was out of it, pale, nauseated, weak, and just generally uncomfortable and sick feeling.
Other than that! Little Locke is kicking me all the time and I love it!! I've been decorating onesies that I got for 25cents at the thrift store. I got patches and iron-on-transfers that you make on your printer, and paint, and stencils, and iron-on letters, and stamps. I'm just not satisfied with onesies that you can buy in stores- they just don't fit mine or his daddy's style!

knockoutmom - Friday, 20 June
ouch! that sucks. there came a time i wanted them to knock me out since it took 45 minutes to get the spinal in and they poked me 10 friggin times! but then i realized they wouldnt let zach in if they did that so i tried to hold it in. thankfully they got it. riley and daddy are doin good. hes actually playing guitar for her right now while she sleeps. its nice cause we can be as loud as we want and she isnt bothered by it at all! he was playing his drums the other day in the garage and i took her out and nothing! she didnt mind it at all. it is nice kinda to not be pregnant anymore. i sometimes get all pouty though when i think about it. the hormones after c sections suck!! im finally starting to get better with it after 2 weeks! ahhh!

knockoutmom - Thursday, 19 June

hah, yea i almost miss being pregnant, too! being a mom is awesome. are you gonna be induced or anything?

knockoutmom - Friday, 6 June
yea i think guys deal with this stuff differently than we do. he completely "nested" last night which cracked me up. although his nesting consisted of making sure songs were on his ipod and he had video games on his laptop but at least he did! i cant wait for all this hormonal stuff to be over and get back to my old self and have my old body back! 6 hours, woo!! oh, the lady i work with does pretty good baby pics too so shes gonna end up doing mine but ill be damned if i dont convince the nurses to let me in the nursery and let me do my own! zachs a drummer so i was dying to do a shot with drumsticks or something. we'll see how that goes. ahhh!! next time i talk to you ill be a freakin mom! crazy!!

you are quite welcome!
I'm with you, I don't feel cute/attractive/anything.

I feel bad because I complain to my best friend all day about how uncomfortable I am (she's been pregnant so she knows) I feel like thats all I have to talk about lol

MeganDanielle - Friday, 30 May
You are the cutest thing ever!

Connors Mommy - Thursday, 29 May
ok this is the coolest picture EVER i was contemplating whether or not to go the bikini route this summer because i am pregnant but ther eis no doubt i'm doing it now i am only 3 months and was worried about how I would look but you look FABULOUS good luck with baby

polingn - Wednesday, 28 May
I have the same problem its the worst feeling in the world espcially when i'm trying to sleep. I honestly get so pissed off and frustrated that I just get up. I have found that if I increase my fluids thur the day and stay away from salt and caffiene its better. I also have bought wrist supports for each hand and i wear them all day and at night, they have helped alot. Not to much longer thou my doctor said it'd most likly go away around 3 weeks after I have my lil guy. Good luck and I hope this has helped you some how

anso - Tuesday, 27 May
