My profile- i am not pregnant anymore but can't figure out how to change the profile thing
I am 35 years old and living in Massachusetts. I had my baby on June 4th my baby was 7lbs 10 ounces and was born at 2:26 am her name is Chesney Shea, I was in labor for 18 1/2 hrs it was a very traumatic delivery. I am soo uncomfortable, but sooo greatful, i'm obsessed with her. I can't wait to see pics of all my peeps and their lil ones god bless!!!!!
Ok So here goes, u asked for the birth story.
I went in on may 30 fri i alot of pain, and was having crazy contractions and was completely effaced. Well after u/s determined kidney stones and contractions stopped altogether it was determined that the kidney stones irritated my cervix which brought on false labor, who knows if thats bs or not cuz they were pretty real. I was admitted that night given a bunch of demerol and discharged sat. I was still in tons of pain on sat and sun and went back to labor and del. on Mon in excruciating pain, they decided to keep me and induced me at 9pm that evening they started with cervidal which thins out the cervix and has to be kept in for 12 hrs, ( i was already effaced so it's unclear why they used this). At 8:01 on tues the 3rd started pitocun they started it really slow by 3 pm i had only dilated to 2 cm so they turned up the pitocin and broke my water, it was getting bad they were coming on soo strong so right at 6pm i got to 3cm and they did epidural. i hated the feeling i felt paralyzed i couldn't feel my feet and felt like i had ants crawling over me. at 7 they jacked up pitocin again i was in tears and screaming by 10 i was in between 6-7 cm they jacked it up yo 22 ( the highest you can go is 26-28) so i was ridiculously uncomfortable, they gave me a larger amt of epidural which did numb me but still felt like a really yucky feeling, by 12:00am i couldn't take it and started to push without saying anything but still only got to an 8 by 12:45 the nurses decided i could push and they would strtch my cervix. they were looking at eacgh other and i could tell something was wrong, i started shaking uncontrollably and my fever shot up to 102 degrees then we hear the baby decelerating the dr. came in at like 12:55 and gave more epidural and told me we had to get her out now , as i continued to push with everything i had ( it was the most painful feeling ever epidural just stopped working or def didn't come close to overriding the pain) we realized the baby was stuck in birth canal. since having a c-sectio at that point was out ofthe qyestion ( can't pull her out of my belly feet first and rip her out of the canal) the did an episiotomy but a very difficult one they had to cut very deep and alot. i ( sorry for tmi) was i whole the perinium was cut all the way to the end of anus. well after pushing through that and losing tons of blood she arrived through the the use of a vaccuum. her cord was tangled badly and was taken by pediatrician immediatly. I was in hysterics but couldn't really concentrate cuz the pain was just something i can't explain. they started stitching me up, my fever was still really high i had ice packs all over me and i was freezing , i still had no idea where my little girl was and if she was o.k. my fiance had this scared look on his face. then right before stitching i passed the placenta which was just as intolerable as the whole birth, the stitching began and the numbing medicine they gave me just didn't work i felt all of it and they gave me alot. I have 28 stitches down there and edema in both feet due to the pitocin still working through my lymphatic system, My fiancee got to go see the baby and came back to let me know she is fine. i couldn't hold her cuz we both had such high fevers, so she was brought to nursery to feed by bottle i couldn't breastfeed her. I was still kinda out ofit and then they called for blood cuz i kept losing it, then i kinda drifted off for a few minutes. I could see some fear removed from everyone in the room, and my dr. told me i could have the baby in 1 hr i just needed some recovery time and time to bring down fever, they jacked me up on morphine and off to lala land i went, then the baby was brought in and although i'll never say i'd do it all over again if thats what it would be like i was instantly in love and was able to keep her with me through the night, I felt soo bad 4 her, but she'll never remember it and I certainly won't tell her about it. i have a 4th degree laceration and it's pretty serious thats why i stayed in hospital till the 7th. so i'll NEVER GET INDUCED again. i am actually unsure if i will ever give birth again right now the answer is def. no but that may change later. what happened to me is rare so plz don't get to thinking that something like this will be ur experience too. all that matters is she rocks and she is healthy and of course i'll heal in a few weeks it's all behind us now. yippee.
She is so cute!
