I am Ketty, wife to Cliff and mom to Kenneth and Gianna. Kenneth was born August 15, 1994 and Gianna was born January 7, 2008. I am a freelance linguist and a aspiring Wedding/Events Consultant currently attending classes and looking forward to certification in this field. Cliff and I were married October 14, 2006 and have been together since Valentines Day 2004! We knew that as soon as we were married we wanted to get pregnant so of course wedding day was the first try out day. We believe that we were extremely lucky when we found out just six months after our wedding day that we were pregnant. My kids are my everything - its such a wonderful feeling to be a mom.

Hello everyone! Well, I started labor on Friday January 4th getting contractions every eight to nine minutes apart so I went to the L&D and when they checked me I was only 50% effaced and 0 dialated so of course, they sent me home. All weekend I continued to feel this way and wondered how much longer was I going to go like that with those pains. Then on Monday, January 7th at 5:00 in the morning I get the urge to go to the bathroom and on my way to there my water broke. At first I thought I had pee all over myself but then I realized I couldn`t control it so it had to be something else. I walk over to my husband and I tell him that my water broke and there another gush comes out and I was like, `Oh my God, we really have to go.` Needless to say, after I got dressed I was getting the more severe pains I`ve ever felt and they were coming every 4 to 5 minutes. When we get to the hospital and they check me they tell me that I am only 2cm open and because of my previous c-section they would do a c-section again. So in we go to the operating room and at 9:36 Gianna Irene was born. She is a lovely healthy baby who was able to hang out with daddy and mommy in the OR while the doctors finished working on mom. We are absolutely happy to have her join us and big brother Kenny is looking extremely proud of being the `BIG BRO`. He had her picture as a default on his myspace page. LOL!!! We feel extremely blessed with her arrival.

I'm 29 weeks already and doing pretty well. We are all sooo anxious to see her... my husband is more smiles than ever, it seems like he is either nervous or that much more happier than the beginning of the pregnancy. My 13 year old son talks to her and reminds her that she has an older brother anxiously waiting. Little by little we are getting ready for her arrival, we'll start her nursery soon and hopefully we won't finish too late. Well, for all of those reading, I hope you are all doing well and let's pray for healthy babies.

I'm 31 weeks today and feeling like a kid in a candy store only because I had a surprise baby shower yesterday. I got so many nice gifts I just can't get over it! Alot of my friends were there even friends I have not seen in more than a year. So all around I had a great night last night. I can't wait to see it all come together when once she's here.

Well, I am now 33 weeks and feeling pretty good all in all. I do have my bad days where I either have very bad heartburn or very bad backaches or both. I went to my Dr's appointment today and everything looks really good. So, for that I do have to be grateful. I finally was able to provide my Surgical Report from my previous C-Section and doctor said that I am able to try vaginal birth after C-Section (VBAC) because of the way they opened the uterus. I was sooo happy to hear that, to hear that I do have options and that I can try vaginal delivery. Having a C-Section is safe for the most part but the recovery, atleast for me, was very hard and I really pray that I can do everything vaginal and both me and my baby come out of it safely. My doctor did mention that if we go with VBAC there is a 1% chance of rupture which could be life threatening for either me, the baby or both. But I'll just let everything take it's course and hopefully we will come out of it safe and as healthy as can be.

Well, I started to loose my mucus plug yesterday and I feel a bit weird but no contractions just weird. All I continue to think about is the big possibility of meeting my little princess sooner than expected. I just hope and pray to God that all goes well.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!!!! I'm 37 weeks and 2 days today and no signs of Gianna wanting to see the world, I think she is very comfortable where she is right now. Anyway, I went to the see the doctor last Friday and she checked me and tells me "There's nothing going on there yet, you are completely closed." So of course I was bit dissapointed because I was hoping to be atleast have 1cm open but what can I do? I have been walking alot since that day and doing more around the house in hopes that I could help her find her way. In the meantime, I'm just haging on.

A note to all my friends:
I was fixing my page and ended up loosing everything but these 2 pictures. How it happened I will never know. Now I have to find the time and try to recall as much as possibe and type it in and of course re-write my birth story. I am very upset as I write this because all I did was click on save and it saved only the above mentioned. Anyway, I will talk to you all on the forum...
UPDATE: I have created a new page! Unfortunately when I contacted Dirk he was sorry but couldn't help me retrieve my past info. Anyway, I'm learning to like this new look but I sure do miss my old page.

Well on Saturday 5/17 Gianna got her ears pierced. She looks soooo cute! Now, I had to hold her while they did it and I felt so bad when she started to cry. I almost got up to leave but then I thought, "Why put her through this pain again to do the second ear?" So we did both as fast possible. About half an hour before our appointment I gave her some Tylenol and I really think that helped her alot. Plus, I fed her soon after and that was very soothing to her. Right now the piercing looks like it's doing fine (no signs of infection or anything) and she looks fine also. SHE'S A CHAMP!
