Okay, for some reason everything I wrote on this was deleted :( Now I have to start over...that sucks!

Well, my name is Kimberly and I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant!! My husband, Frank and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and come to find out I can actually get pregnant!! Our due week is July 8-13th. We are so incredibly excited! We weren't sure if I was going to be able to have kids because I only have half of my reproductive organs due to a tumor I had when I was younger. But we showed those doctors!!

I'm really starting to feel better and gain my appetite back, which is wonderful! I didn't gain an ounce in the first trimester and I'm sure that's because everything I looked at or smelt made me extremely sick to my stomach. I had enough energy to get through my work day and then I went home and crashed on the couch. Now that I'm entering the second trimester, I am getting my energy back so I don't feel so lazy :) I was really really really tired yesterday though. So I went home and crashed like I did in the first trimester! I'm pretty sure my husband is excited now that I'm not so 'down' all the time. We are both getting very excited. Neither of us care what we have, just as long as it's as healthy as it can be; both of us were pretty sick newborns. I can't wait to find out though! We probably won't find out for another 5 or 6 weeks though. My next appointment is in one week and I can't wait to hear the little heartbeat again...it's been too long!! I hope everyone is feeling wonderful now that we're moving on to the second trimester!!!

1-14-08

I have one day left until Week 15 starts :) Everything is going real well right now. My nausea is almost completely gone unless I over-eat. I'm just glad to eat again!! Food is starting to smell good again...I smelled our neighbors cooking steak out last night and I almost went over to get some!! That's how I can tell I'm really feeling better; if I would've barely smelled or looked at a steak in the first trimester, I would've thrown up. Yeah for food!! My energy is definitely coming back as well. My house is starting to look like it did before I got pregnant haha!! I have missed having the energy to be a clean freak :) I think my husband did a little too, although he may not admit it. We go to my next doctor's appointment tomorrow and I'm looking foward to finding out how much weight I've gained. I didn't gain anything the first trimester so hopefully I've gained a little. If not, I'm going to start eating everything in sight, jk :) Well I hope everyone is doing fantastic. OH yeah, I got a mommy pillow (snoogle) and I've been sleeping like a dream ever since!! My arms aren't falling asleep anymore and I'm sleeping almost through the night (minus the bathroom wake up calls). It was well worth the $50!! Have a great week ladies!!

So we went to the doctor's appointment on Tuesday this week; nothing too exciting! Of course we heard the precious heart beat and I was able to ask him a few questions about how much we are allowed to use the doppler we rented off the internet. But that was about it! I started coming down with something on Tuesday morning and my throat was killing me so he gave me a list of meds I can take to help with the sore throat. Although now it's Friday and I feel worse then I did on Tuesday. I have probably drank triple the amount of water I normally drink, rested and ate some cough drops, yet my throat is still killing me. I know it's sinus drainage but I have never kept a sinus infection for this long before. Does anyone have any advice on how to help with this?? It has not been fun! and I'm miserable! Yesterday was really bad because every time I'd cough, I'd gag, then breathe again which made me cough, then gag...literally for 2 minutes. By the time I finally caught my breath, my face was soaked with tears and my whole body was sweating. It scared me frantic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated though! Since we're off on Monday, maybe it'll give me a chance to recuperate before going back to work...cross your fingers! One more thing, the doctor said our next u/s is 2-11 and that's when we should find out the sex...so EXCITED!! Bye ladies :)

WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!! Found out today at our doctor's appointment that we're having a little boy. It was such an incredible ultrasound. The doctor said that everything looks perfect so far. She showed us the heart, stomach and bladder which means the baby is swallowing fine and the kidneys are working. We were able to see the umbilical cord and the blood flowing through it (awesome!). We saw many many more things but I can't think of everything right now. The baby weighs 7 ounces right now!! I still can't feel the baby move but the doctor said that's normal and I should start to feel something in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Anyway, a VERY exciting day for us new parents!! I can't wait to see our little boy again :)

I am feeling all right outside of the constant worry I now have that I'm going to sneeze or something and this little guy is going to fly across the room! lol...I just keep hoping my doc is paranoid

He'll quickly learn how difficult it is when you struggle in the beginning. My son luckily latched right away...but when the lactation nurse left for the evening and he and I were alone to feed a crying baby, he quickly learned it wasn't easy! Not to mention that once I got home, I struggled again because I had "mastered" nursing while in a reclining hospital bed for a week!
As for the class....we played with dolls learning positions and stuff,,,,no hubby participation!

I went to breastfeeding class last night and I brought my husband with me. All the women had their partners with them and there was really helpful information for them to hear. They even gave advice to the men about how to be involved. I think is great for them to go and hear everything so that they realize what a process it can be!

Thx 4 commenting on my furniture. I love the changing table too because it has a drawer and the shelves. Its from Target and the baskets are from Babies R Us :) I cant wait to see my little guy in his crib!

My husband is definitely coming with me to the breast feeding classes. Breast feeding can be one of the most challenging parts of having a newborn, and you often need more than two hands to get the baby into the right position to latch on correctly. I would definitely take my partner along if I were you.

Thanks for your message. I got the calculations from this website. Go to the forum to the weigh gain chart and enter your stats. It's just a general guideline, though.

I went alone to my breastfeeding class because my husband had to work that day. There were only 2 men in the class. I think they were bored out of their minds because they kept leaving the room! My hubby came to my parenting class as did all the other husbands. Don't think he needs to be at breastfeeding class!

I found a website http://www.momsmaternity.com/store/product.asp?categoryID=66&id=1424&category=Breast+pump+Replacement+parts+and+accessories. It looks for about $30 I can get everything.

Hi! I have gained 8 lbs in 5 weeks and my doctor did not bat an eye. She said alrthough it was a big jump for me (I had put on little before), it was nothing to be worried about. I guess you can call it a growth spurt!

bethjs - Monday, 3 Mar
ah i like the name noah. I guess that is one good thing about my husbands name, it's james alexander so it's not a horrible name I just prefer names that arent so common, I'm more just sick of the name cause my dad is a james, my brothers middle name is james i know 2 guys from my church named james and my husbands grandfather is james...lol as well as i have a friend with the first name james as well as a friend with james as the last name lol it's just a little overwhelming for me thats all. we did however decide to call him alex instead of anything associated with james at all like jim, jimmy, jay, jayjay, anything with the letter j since all those nicknames are used by the little sea of james' I know lol. I really like alex though so I guess I can't complain too much.

McAng - Monday, 11 Feb
That's great! Can you feel him move yet? What are you thinking for names? I'm having a hard time with boy names - had a girl name all picked out.

autty - Saturday, 9 Feb
I have no idea what i'm having. I keep telling myself it's a boy so I won't be disappointed if it is. I know that's sad but I want to be happy and I think if I prepare myself for a boy I'll be fine! And I'm ok with it....we'll just try again! =) There's a lot that is the same. I've had a very easy pregnancy but there are a couple of differences for example where I'm broken out. I broke out on my face with my son and now my back (EWWWWW) with this one. It's weird and gross!

Tiffini6 - Friday, 8 Feb
I heard good things about all the hospitals in Augusta, except Trinity/St.joe's - I had a friend who had a c-section there and her baby needed a NICU, so they sent the baby to University and she had to stay at Trinity. I can't imagine how horrible! I chose University because my husband had heart surgery there and we're both comfortable with the staff there, they've been great on my two trips to L&D already!! Anyway, since I was having twins and they are high risk, I just wanted to make sure that we wouldn't get separated like my friend did, and I was promised this wouldn't happen at Universitiy. I wish you the very best with your pregnancy - I found if you just think positively you can get through most anything - I'm 35 weeks with twins and still working full time - my c-section (more routine with twins) is scheduled for the 20th and I can't wait. Good luck!

dssmonoka - Thursday, 7 Feb
