This is my first child, although my husband has a 6y/o daughter and 4y/o son that stay with us every other week. I had BABY FEVER in about September of 07 and we talked about it a lot and decided that there was no reason to be in a hurry so we would hold off for a while...well I think it was a week before Thanksgiving when I realized that my period was late. Took the test and was totally shocked that I was pregnant. It took some getting used to but we are so thrilled and cannot wait to meet him/her. I have had bad MS ever since about 6 weeks and now it is much more controllable (perhaps because I have learned what/when to eat so that I dont get sick) although I still have those days out of nowhere where I cant keep anything down and feel nausious all day. Had my first OB visit on 1/21 and got to hear the heartbeat and see the first ultrasound. My next appt. is on Monday, 2/18.

ITS A BOY!!! Tommy John Allen, III will be here in July. As soon as she put the thing to my belly, WHAM there was a butt shot and he showed us the goods. Its a good thing we WANTED to know or else that would have ruined a big surprise.

Wednesday, 19 Mar

Well I went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly visit. I have gained a total of pounds so far. The heartbeat was very strong again, 157 bpm. The doctor told me that they saw a shadow on my baby `s heart in the 20 week 3D ultrasound so he wants to schedule another one after my next monthly appointment. Good news is that normally is a marker for DS but my AFP came back negative about 3 weeks ago. Hopefully it is nothing...

You wouldn't have to do anymore leg work...ss and dl/dmv info are linked via your social and birthdate so you've done everything you need to do already! All that you need to do now is change of addresses with your credit card companies, magazine subscriptions and medical/dental card for insurance :)

figured I would leave a response on your page, instead of in the middle of the drama. lol.

when i got married, i only changed it with ss office and the dmv. so i would think that should be fine. :) that was 4 1/2 years ago though. I"m in PA though. dont know if that makes a difference.

As far as I know you do not have to fast, but eat light b/c the drink sometimes makes ppl nauseous, and I think empty stomach helps a little with this. Especially if it's first thing in the morning, it's not too long to go w/out food :)

momof2oneonway! - Sunday, 11 May
I did not have to fast for mine, a matter of fact the nurse asked me if I ate before. (which I did 4 hrs proir to the test) and I ended up vomiting it up. So I would eat something so this doesn't happen to you. :)

Well when I took my GD test, I was told I can either fast or eat something light. For instance some cottage cheese or sugar free peanut butter. Personally I didn't eat anything after midnight the night before and took my test early in the morning. I think its most accurate when you fast. I hope this helps!

Thank you! They don't know any better. It is totally innocent. I remember seeing, hearing, and doing things when I was little lol

Thanks for the comment. I just get a little worried sometimes. Come to think of it I did the same thing with my first. I am just glad I am not the only one who worries if the baby is moving or not.

Thank you for your comment about my photo. You have given my belly hope :) Perhaps it will decide to grow in the next few weeks. I keep thinking "maybe this week."

I really don't think guys understand what we go through being pregnant. As for the other stuff he should use his common sense and know you can't lift anything heavy. Also some guys have that problem that nothing is their fault so they put it on other people so they don't look bad. Sorry your upset. Hope it gets better.

thank you so much that has helped me heaps

I was reading your post on the gestational diabetes forum. And I just wanted to tell you that when I was preggo I had GD in my 3rd trimester. I didn't have any signs or symptoms of having GD.. The only way you can tell is by the sugar test and monitoring my blood sugars.

i am in the same vote as you but I am 31 weeks pregnant and have been in the hospital for 2 days with preterm labor. My cervix measures 1.38 cm and one doctor was concerned and gave me the steroid shots for my daughters lunds and one other doctor was not concerned i did a lot of researcch and it seems it is a problem so I dont know what to beleive.

ashlee - Friday, 25 April

Hi there and your welcome on the info. I'm sure they won't sell out of the mobile but in worst case senerio you can find it on Ebay too. Thats so Awesome you guys love the Steelers enough to get the mobile and the blanket. Both mine and my husbands family are all in Pittsburgh so at my baby shower I got tons of Steeler baby cloths that are just too cute. They are so easy to get up there you can buy them at walmart and kmart in Pittsburgh. I'll post pics of the nursery when its done.

So I dont think my doc even makes a record of the baby's heart beat. He pretty much listens for 5 seconds just to make sure it sounds normal. Then when I went for my ultra sound last week they said they wouldnt have any information until the radiologist reviewed all of the prints. But then I dont go back to the doctor until May 14, so by then the baby will be much larger so the old numbers wont make a difference. Grrr. so frustrating.

JoAnneMichelle - Wednesday, 23 April
 So Pretty!!!

JennSever - Friday, 18 April
oh honey, aren't those leg cramps the worst. i got them really bad with my 3 previous preg. but so far none w/ this baby. eat a bananas every other day or so and you should be fine (don't eat them too often as they will constipate you) good luck..
