This is my first child, although my husband has a 6y/o daughter and 4y/o son that stay with us every other week. I had BABY FEVER in about September of 07 and we talked about it a lot and decided that there was no reason to be in a hurry so we would hold off for a while...well I think it was a week before Thanksgiving when I realized that my period was late. Took the test and was totally shocked that I was pregnant. It took some getting used to but we are so thrilled and cannot wait to meet him/her. I have had bad MS ever since about 6 weeks and now it is much more controllable (perhaps because I have learned what/when to eat so that I dont get sick) although I still have those days out of nowhere where I cant keep anything down and feel nausious all day. Had my first OB visit on 1/21 and got to hear the heartbeat and see the first ultrasound. My next appt. is on Monday, 2/18.

ITS A BOY!!! Tommy John Allen, III will be here in July. As soon as she put the thing to my belly, WHAM there was a butt shot and he showed us the goods. Its a good thing we WANTED to know or else that would have ruined a big surprise.

Well I went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly visit. I have gained a total of pounds so far. The heartbeat was very strong again, 157 bpm. The doctor told me that they saw a shadow on my baby `s heart in the 20 week 3D ultrasound so he wants to schedule another one after my next monthly appointment. Good news is that normally is a marker for DS but my AFP came back negative about 3 weeks ago. Hopefully it is nothing...

Wow, aren't the 3d pics amazing. I'm also 21 weeks and got a ultrasound on thursday. She said it was a little to early but she went ahead and took some 3d and they turned out really good also. I.m going back at 27 weeks. She said they would be better then.

Those u/s pictures came out really good. We are still debating on doing the 3d because my child loves to do summer salts all the time and I know that have to be in a certain position for good pictures. I am having a boy too. I live in VA but from CA and we are thinking of moving to Ca or pheonix in Sept when he gets out of the Navy. How is it there? Is there lots to do? We live in the middle of no where now and I hate it!

Hey, I have to work in a professional enviroment as well, so I understand perfectly your predicament. I recommend shopping at a store that provides you with a fake bump to try clothes on with. One store I went to had 2 different sizes to choose from - one that added 3 months to your growth and another that adds 6 months -just to give you a better idea of how things will grow with you. A lot of the pants I found actually fit me during that early bump stage (too big for my pants but not really looking pregnant yet) - lots of elastic! I did a lot of shopping at Mimi Maternity and a boutique here called pickes and ice cream. If all else fails try a bella band to hold them up on you until your bump really pops out, which probably won't be long now - good luck, I hope that helps =)

Hi, We usto live in Prescott Valley. We moved from there 1yr ago to San Diego because my husband is in the Marine Corps. We have a lot of friends who live there. We miss the area so much. I hope everythign is going well with you and your pregnancy. We just had our little boy a month ago....time sure does fly by fast, it dosn't seem that long ago when i was just 20 weeks.

Hi I would name it after your husband. My husband is the second born son and he has his fathers full name. My husband also has a 13yr old boy to a previous partner, he doesn't have his fathers name, but if we have more than one boy I would really like to use his name just to keep tradidtion going.

So what are the names you have picked out?? I always had a girl name picked out right away, and ended up having ALL boys!! I know how ex's can be...my mom deals with her husbands ex and it gets her pretty stressed. Just don't take it to heart...and tell him to get a back bone and stand up to her!! She will get the hint...guys are always trying to take the easy way out to avoid confrontation. He probably can't stand her and doesn't want to hear her mouth!!

Hmmm, my question is...what about the mother? Why can't she do these meetings? Or atleast some of them? I honestly would be upset, too. Like the comment below me says, he has a bit of guilt for not being there full time probably...but that is not YOUR fault. I would most def make him come to that U/S. Tell the ex she can go to the meeting at the school that week!! It's not fair that you have to feel that way. Just make it known!! And on a lighter note...what are you hoping for (boy or girl)?? I saw your post about your husband. Maybe he feels like his son is acting up because there is a new one coming and maybe your husband feels guilty about this. He may also feel guilty that he is only with his son every other week. I dont know really. In any case, I would be very upset if I were you. My husband was going to start a new job on the day I was to have my 'big' ultrasound and I threw a fit about it. Then they changed his day to start and I felt bad for acting up. To be honest, I'd probably be so mad that I'd find out what I was having and then I wouldn't tell him...LOL! Best of luck to you. I hope everything works out okay.

Hi, Just thought i'd email as the same thing happened to me 2/3 weeks ago. I had severe stomach cramps in the middle of the night followed by spotting the next day - for one day only. We went to our emergency Dr. He said it was nothing to worry about, it was the uterine lining expanding and stomach muscles pulling and stretching causing tiny tears. It was nothing to do with going to the gym, or having a massage just your body changing and adapting to pregnancy. I hope you are OK and not worrying still? I went to see my own Dr too and she did blood tests and listened to the baby's heart beat just to make me feel more reassured. - Perhaps you should fo that? Good luck and let me know how you get on. I read your post and I also had some spotting last week. Freaked me out and I called the dr. She did an exam and ultrasound and found nothing. I think that everything is growing in there so fast that sometimes there's a little bleeding. She just told me to take it easy for a few days. So I did and no problems since that one time. Hope this helps.
