Hello, everyone! My husband Matt and I are thrilled to be expecting our second son, Liam Michael. Our firstborn, Brennen James, is also very excited to have a little brother! Matt and I were married in 2000 and waited five years before having children, and we're thinking this one may be our last. We always wanted two sons, and isn't the correct phrase "quit while you're ahead"? LOL! Anyway, I'm looking forward to sharing some of the joys and complaints about pregnancy. Oh yeah, one more thing. This time around we're having a completely natural birth at a birth center, so any encouragement/advice would be greatly appreciated! Talk to all of you soon!

oh she's LOVING being a big sister, thank GOD! Hubby's going to work for the first time again tonight so we'll see how things go. Do you remember that babies sleep A LOT?!?! Guess I didn't. It's not nearly as bad as I had imagined things to be! LOL... now I just have fears of the future when she doesn't sleep 20 hours a day!

......... you sound like you're getting really close... I was having a lot of contractions while sleeping too, that's why I didn't think much of it when it was actually the real thing. Soon, tonight? Tomorrow? Very soon. Good luck, you'll do awesome.

Snap! I felt like i was woken every hour on the hour with contractions! This morning Nothing!!!

I soo know your frustraition, I don't know about you but it is now driving me nuts! I've had it on and off now for the last week or soo.

yeah seriously --- i'm beginning to feel like the last of the mohicans!! i worked on my dissertation proposal all day & just finished it...i was thinking that maybe she wouldn't come while there were still unfinished projects hanging over my head...so now i am officially done with everything and ready for baby. hopefully tomorrow?? - but october 13th is such a spooky birthday, no??

Aww thank you! :) Kinley is just so precious and beautiful in every single way! I can't believe I complained when I was pregnant, as much as I tried to stay positive..there are those moments when you just wanna go in and get your baby outta your belly yourself lol! Hey!! Thank you for your advice. I really don't know what to do. I am asking my doctor if he will break my water first to see if that will get things going and then I wont have to have the pitocin. I hope that you're right and I wont make it to Thursday. I heard that 1st time moms who are induced are more likely to have a c-section, and that terrifies me! I hate being a 1st time mommy cuz I never know what's going on or what to expect!

omg i cant believe you mentioned that because just a few minutes ago.. he was like Wheres the vacuum?? And I was like.. ummm upstairs but its a different one! LOL. So I had to tell him but I didnt disclose the price we paid. He wasn't mad but was curious as to why I didnt tell him.. and I just gave him a pathetic face and said I thought you'd be madddddd. hahaha. So funny. I was embarrassed..

Thats awesome you are having your birth at a birth center! I'm from week 30. We don't have any good birth centers in RI so I opted for a home birth with a midwife and my mom who is a nurse. Good luck to you!

well, because I'm hoping to at least attempt a natural birth, as long as possible. Until I can't talk or walk through contractions. I don't want to be constantly at the hospital with the temptation of epidural yet. (I loved it, but had pains from it for 6 months after she was born! I'd rather have short term pain right now.) Contractions are consistantly 4-5mins apart and around 50-60seconds... just loaded up the car and hubby is on his way to take Lylah to auntie's house... when he gets back I'll feel much calmer. Oh, since on tuesday I was 4cm dilated (and could be more since then) I'm kinda hoping by the time I get to the hospital in too much pain it will be too late for drugs and then it wont even be an option. Wish me luck!

yah it sure is bothersome so I am assuming that is more than the braxton ones, I never really had menstral cramps so it does hurt a bit.... ouch....I was like 1.5 cm and 50 percent on thurs, so I am hoping that these contractions if they are will thin me out more...

thank you for your responce. it really helped. im just so ready to be a mom i forget that he will come when he comes. i dont want a c-section belive me. i was just so worryed that i would have to have one becuse i havent showed any progress. its just me being me,a worry wort. but ya, thank you for reponding back you helped me alot!!!

Hey I know it was soo fast! I had contractions all yesterday morning but only around 11am was I sure they were for real! When I got to the hospital I was only 3cm still as I had been for 2 weeks and they were going to send me home, but I decided to get up and walk around the hospital instead. I got up (this was around 130pm) to get dressed and then my water broke. From there my contractions were SO out of control and then everything just happened so fast. I pushed for about 45 min but his heart rate was low and they had to do an emergency episiotomy (um no local anesthetic or anything-no time) and then he came out super quick- all in the same push. His cord was wrapped around his poor little neck 3 times! He was all purple and not breathing and it was sooo scary but about a minute later (after they gave him oxygen) he was pink and crying (Thank God!) and he got a 9 on his 2nd apgar (after a 2!). Thank God also I couldn't really see him and my husband lied and said the baby was fine! That would have been one AWFUL minute! I know it was for my poor husband! :( He was really scared. Ah... but all's well that ends well I guess! Oh, and yeah I think I did tear a little in addition to that episiotomy. So, now you don't have to read my birth story when I get it up on here I guess lol! I will get pictures up as soon as I can he is SOOOO cute I can't even believe it! yeah - i'm with you girl - absolutely....i think sometimes these forums full of overdue pregnant women are so filled with hormones that they are just waiting for a spark. it got me to thinking though about inductions....i'm due sat. and everyone seems to be pressuring me to 'get it done' as it were...it's kind of annoying actually...everyone is trying to work this baby into their schedules and - whether it is my mom flying out or my husband's 1 wk paternity leave --- it's like they would all just rather have it buckled down so they can plan better....still not caving to the pressure, but geez - when did it all get so complicated?

Hey lady! I had my little boy yesterday at 425pm! My labor was CRAZY fast I went from 3cm to 9cm in less than an hour! So, yes it HURT like hell but honestly wasn't as bad as I thought-and the pushing part felt GREAT!! You can TOTALLY do it babe it is not that bad! (maybe you already are doing it right now???) I am still at the hospital due to some post partum hemmoraging they are keeping me til tomorrow so if you want to ask me anything please do I'm just sitting here while my gorgeous little guy sleeps! :) I'm soooo in love! Its awesome!

hehe, I know I know... probably would end up with pitocin. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it's just so tempting! I HATED the doctor that delivered my daughter... she didn't follow any of my requests (hubby not cut cord, baby not be put on me right away etc) and she told me to just suck it up, I'm a mom now. WHAT THE HECK? Anyways, it's a possibility that she would deliver this baby too. =/ Oh well. I'll probably stick it out. I made a doc appointment for tuesday, but hoping I don't get to go! Oh, and those candies are sooo gross! I thought you could get them almost anywhere, and I'm sure this year candy baskets will be FILLED with them as they are the cheapest thing to buy! LOL.
