My profile

Hello, everyone! My husband Matt and I are thrilled to be expecting our second son, Liam Michael. Our firstborn, Brennen James, is also very excited to have a little brother! Matt and I were married in 2000 and waited five years before having children, and we're thinking this one may be our last. We always wanted two sons, and isn't the correct phrase "quit while you're ahead"? LOL! Anyway, I'm looking forward to sharing some of the joys and complaints about pregnancy. Oh yeah, one more thing. This time around we're having a completely natural birth at a birth center, so any encouragement/advice would be greatly appreciated! Talk to all of you soon!

Kimberly

I tried to put my new baby bump picture on my profile but don't know if it will work. Anyway, it did go up in my pictures on the side. Same outfit, but the belly did grow this month! :)

Hi!

About the walking... what I do is I go twice a day! And I'll go for about 30 minutes each time... sometimes less.. so for me it's actually not bad... of course lately I have been more sore but I think you should try shorter walks but twice a day instead :) (My dog is sooo spoiled) haha

Oh, that's great Kim:) Not a novel at all and I'm glad it's not private so everyone can read about it and maybe learn something. I have seen the documentary already and actually have taken D.O.U.L.A. training and have been interested in natural birth for many years. Have you read the book "Spiritual Midwifery"? I know you are close, but it has some great stories in there to set you in the right mindset. Not that you need any help

I can't wait to hear about your birth and share it with my husband. I very much want a home birth. Right now we see a midwife at a birth center, but they have all the babies at a nearby hospital that is supposed to work with them. We are going to visit the hospital at the end of the month and tomorrow we start interviewing home birth midwives. Hopefully we can come to a decision in the next month.

Best of luck to you and your family. You keep speaking about your births to women and give them strength!

THIS IS REALLY TMI but you wanted to know.

reading up on your grooming comment.Too funny. Yeah i had a jungle by the end of my first pregnancy i swear i saw monkeys swinging.haha no but it was pretty bad and i felt gross.I'm sure most girls shave bald or have a little landing strip...as for me thin landing strip is what i've always done.So pretty much hairless lol..Natural is normal though i'm sure lots of women go natural and some men love it. My guy on the otherhand likes everything clean shavin.
hahaha wow TMI TMI hee hee

That is so great to hear. We are currently going to a birth center, but they have the babies at the hospital with the midwife. I'm a bit nervous about that so we are going to interview a midwife for a home birth. Can you tell me about your first son's birth, why you didn't like the hospital? I would like to share your story with my husband, if that's ok, because I have been interested and learning about natural childbirth my whole life, but it is all new to him. I'm thrilled you are so far along, please let me know how your natural child birth goes when the time comes! Thank you so much for responding :)

Then I assume you are also very beautiful and intelligent... Are you expecting a girl? What names do you like?

redheadmom - Sunday, 10 August
You're welcome! And I know you will handle it just fine. God made us to be able to do this, and He won't put you through anything you can't deal with. I might steal that idea about hubby reading scriptures during labor. I hadn't thought about that :) If you haven't yet, read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin. The first half of the book is a ton of birth stories written by women who did it naturally. It's very encouraging and uplifting to read. I read it once and I'm reading it again as time draws closer. It helps get you in the right mindset.

Cool! I just read that you are having a natural birth at a birth center. That's how I did it with my first, and it was such a great experience I'm doing it again!

I'm going to try, but I've already promised myself not to let it get me all depressed. I think I'm a little better rpepared this time around- at least I hope so :)

Hi yea im gonna go as natural as much as possible last time i had pethidine in the last hour of labour last time and gas and air that maybe because the contraction were tence due 2 being induced but if all goes well i want 2 go into birth natuaraly and finish natuaraly

babyayshia - Friday, 8 August
Awww, that's good. I'm glad it helped ya out. Like I said I wish someone would have told me my nipples were gonna crack && bleed. And the pain would be almost unbearable. I used to hold my breath while my babys were latching on. But yeah, if you can get through those first weeks, you will be good to go and no more pain. Then you can just enjoy the experience =)

JennRunyon524 - Friday, 8 August
Oh gosh I've heard how bad sciatica pain can be! Hopefully that subsides for you here soon! haha-- I think I'm just getting use to the aches and pains so I don't even bother complaining about them anymore! hehe. I haven't had a full night sleep in ages! Always tossing and turning and getting up to pee lol, but we only have 2 more months of being pregnant and then we get our light at the end of the tunnel, our babies! YAY! Just try to enjoy it, that's what I'm doing because once they get here it's going to be much more difficult than it is now! Have a great weekend! xoxo

JennRunyon524 - Friday, 8 August
You're sweet! I'm glad that I don't come off as rude when I'm putting my 2 cents in on a subject! I'm soo happy about this pregnancy, I don't know why we all complain about something that is so beautiful! Well I hope you're having a comfortable week.. if that's possible hehe! xoxo

hotpotaaaaato - Friday, 8 August
yeah, if you're panicking about the next feeding and everything, it's not going to go well. The key is to stay relaxed... hard to do I know. I read somewhere that if you rub lanolin on your nipples in the last few weeks of pregnancy every night before bed it can help prepare them.... I've been trying that and they've become a little sore already... I'm hoping that I just go at my own pace everyday and by the time baby comes they will be over being sore. I don't know if this actually helps, but just something I read somewhere. On the other hand if you do try that, just be careful because evidently nipple stimulation can send you into labor! okay, I'm done... have a great day!

hotpotaaaaato - Friday, 8 August
I am one who thinks breastfeeding is best, but I do agree... it's not for everyone. I just think every new mom who has the opportunity should at least TRY breastfeeding. If then they choose to bottle feed, hey at least they tried! I get frustrated at a few girls I know who've had premies and wont even try pumping cause it will "ruin their breasts," when that is the best thing their babies could get! I understand there are situations where moms can't such as adoption, or medical reasons... but like I said, if given the opportunity I believe mothers should at least TRY it. Good luck to you this next time around, and don't feel inferior if you decide not to.

hotpotaaaaato - Friday, 8 August
If you're going to go ALL NATURAL, I would recommend you read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.... very inspiring book!

Let me tell you that I feel huge. I did not feel, or look this big with my first. What is the deal? I am accually feeling anxiety over getting any bigger, I don't know how I will breathe or move. Yikes!!!

Thanks for responding about the pain in armpit. I'm so emotional right now. Your one comment will help me get off this darn computer and settle down. Thanks.

I hope it works out as well with breast feeding this time around.. the breast feeding forum is great at giving encouragement and support through the first tough times of breast feeding..wishing you the best with the new addition to your family! Take care
