Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

I just hope that I don't run into September. That's the only thing I ask through all this

I hear ya on the list of things for after delivery. I was just telling my husband and oldest daughter that someone better have me a birthday cake right after I deliver b/c I won't be having any on my birthday. Sonds like your getting things all under control!

I feel the same way! I wasn't dilated last week or effaced at all...I guess our babies are happy right where they are :)

Well my meeting with the dietician last week was basicly worthless. She talked to me like i was 10. She reminded me of an educational video from back in grade school. So far in the week and a half that i have been keeping track of my sugar i have done pretty good. My levels only seem to be bad during my fasting time. I can't get them under 90. They have not been over 100 yet though. But i work midnights and don't sleep like a normal person. i basically take 2 naps a day. a morning 4 or so hour nap. and then i nap with my toddler which is anywhere from 1-3 hrs. Hope things are going well your way. The end result will be worth it - which is what i tell myself when i want ice cream or cake

Thanks so much for the advise. I go tomorrow to meet with a dietician and learn how to read the blood reading machine thing. I feel so overwelmed. I just keep telling myself that it could be worse. Congrats on getting you GD under control!!

You're welcome. My dietician also advised me to eat a lot of lean protein, but as I haven't gained much weight at all in this pregnancy, I asked if it was ok to have a steak or burger every now and again. I was told that fats don't impact blood sugars. Of course, if you're watching your pounds lean meats are a great idea...I just find that some days, turkey breast just doesn't cut it.

Way to go for getting your GD under control...give yourself an A+!

I just read about your experiences with GD counseling, and I know exactly how you feel! My hospital got mixed up and failed to contact me for more than a week after telling me that I'm high risk and have GD. When I finally got an appointment with the dietician, the diet that was given to me was extremely low in fat and calories. Following it, I lost 4 pounds in a week and was only getting 1300 calories! I consulted another dietician, and she let me know that fats don't change our numbers when we have GD...they just tell us to only have lean protein to keep our diets healthy! Now that I've introduced red meat (including some bacon) into my diet, I have more energy, feel better, and my numbers are consistently great! I think the people talking to you should really understand that you have a beautiful growing baby inside of you and that this condition isn't the same as type 2 diabetes! I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

I read your comment about shaving and luckily my hubby does it for me...literally...he shaves there and my legs because he feels bad that I can't get it right...

LoL thanks for your comments, I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I never got that "burst" of energy that some woman talk about in the second trimester...but I wasn't miserable...I have moved to the miserable part now...I forgot my prenatal last night, and I swear that makes a difference.
