Hey! I'm Krystle. I'm 23 years old and live with my boyfriend Zach. We have an unbelievable daughter named Riley. She was born June 6th, 2008. She's amazing! We also have two cats Sadie and Zeus. I'm so grateful for finding this site while I was pregnant. If not I honestly don't think I could have survived!

Thursday, 29 May if you latch on you will try to breastfeed at night in the hospital... OR .. just tell them that you want to leave the baby in the nursery so that you can get some sleep.. there is NO shame in that..
I used the hospital one in the hosptial.. but did purchase the $300 medela from babies r us and love it.. double pump... but i would say look at ebay.. there is NOT one part that touches the milk that you cant get a used one off ebay.. i would have done that knowing what i know now.. you can buy new "horns" that part that touches the breast and new hoses as well.. ihave had to replace my hoses already and the $9.. so look at ebay.. some of the deals are wounderful they come with all sorts of bottles.. in the hospital i pumped every few hours.. but not at night.. the nurses will tell you.. they are all for you getting some good sleep!
Now I pump every few hours.. but last one is after midnight bottle, and first one is at 9am .. juliedue2008 -
Thursday, 29 May 100% breastfeeding via pumping.. only because the idea of my baby sucking on my breast did not thrill me.. but the pumping is awesome, and gives my husband a chance to bond.. and I LOVE IT.. very very easy!
I took all the meds and breastfeeding.. in the hospital you dont have enough milk the baby has to have formula.. i think i was getting like 5 ml when i pumped..(30 ML EQUALS one ounce) now i am pumping 30-35 ounces a day! the meds did nothing to xander, maybe made him a little sleepy.. but I was not concerned.. it never crossed my mind.. i figure they know what they are giving me!
I brought my own fiber, my dr had me taking fiber con since like 6 weeks prego two a day.. so I was taking like 6 a day once i had the csection.. the hospital will give it to you, but i took my own and let them know!
they will give you the ambien.. talk to your dr and make sure he puts it in the orders, he does not order it then you can not get it! juliedue2008 -
Thursday, 29 May Got them done at babies r us.. $79 for a BIG package! the best money spent! juliedue2008 -
Thursday, 29 May I was not sick at all.. I felt fine.. which was odd cuz I always get sick from pain meds, I think they give you something in your iv to help you not get sick. I did not really eat solid food for like a week or so.. the meds.. do screw with your poop.. I think I did not poop for like ever... it really really hurt.. so take some fiber pills with you.. or ask.. my girlfriend ask for some after i told her about me, and she said she had it much easier.
They put a catherder(sp) in and they did not take it out for 24hours, it was my favorite.. did not hurt..but after weeks and weeks of having to pee every ten mins.. i loved the catherder.. no seriuosly.. that did not hurt at all.. and after they took it out I got up (WITH HELP from my husband) and peed.. I was in lots of pain in the hospital.. you cant really sit up easy.. if you consider anything you use ur stomach mucles to do.. that is what is hard.. but its not bad.. my husband spent the night each night to help out..
about the sedative, they will give you one.. i did not get one.. but the night after i did get ambien, well each night in the hoospital i did .. i asked my dr to make sure I could get one..
remember i did not have xander in my room, so i was able to take them! jcody777 -
Thursday, 29 May That is the taurus in you :) mplsmama -
Thursday, 29 May Hey, I'm so bummed, I heard from my dr's office today, and they said the soonest they could get me in is June 1Oth!!!! Aaarrggh!!! I was so counting on June 6th being the date. I do have a dr's appt tomorrow, though, and the surgery scheduler suggested I talk to my dr to try and see if she can pull any strings. I can't do it even on June 5th, either, b/c if you're less than 39 wks, they apparently make you do an amnio. No thanks! Keep your fingers crossed for me that someone else who's scheduled for June 6th "goes early" or something... :}
I totally hear ya on the whole thing being surreal! Can't believe we're going to have our little ones in our arms soooon! Kinda scary and exciting at the same time.... juliedue2008 -
Thursday, 29 May Xander was in the NICU cuz he was so big and could not control his sugar, and then he did not want to eat on his own.. he was biggest in the NICU... he is perfect now! juliedue2008 -
Thursday, 29 May DON"T BE WORRIED!! I was in labor for so long and pushed for three hours.. the csection was a breeze! The one thing I will say is .. I did not have my baby in my room any night that I was in the hospital.. he was in the NICU for the first two nights and the thrid we had him in the nursery.. I think that really helped me heal faster.. my girlfriend had her daughter in her room.. and she is still healing.. I think cuz I was able to just rest at night I healed so much better. ALSO, every time they offered me pain meds I took them.. I learned and asked when I could have the next one, and I wrote it down (you wont remember anything do to all the drugs) and if the nurse did not come in I buzzed them and asked for the meds. When I went home.. I took the max amount of pain meds the first week.. two every four hours.. I really think all that helped me heal faster! I was good at about 2.5 weeks, we had sex at three weeks.. I think I might be lucky on the recovery.. I was cleared to drive at three weeks.. but not cleared to excerise till June 3rd... any other questions PLEASE ask.. I had so many no one really to ask! I felt only pressure when they were getting my son out.. NO PAIN at all!! NONE! It was really I hate to say.. easy! I cant wait for the next baby, I get a date of a csection right away! jcody777 -

Wednesday, 28 May Hello....Let me asure you that my c-section was so easy. I too was nervous at first but it was all planned out and organized. I never went into labor nor did I have any crazy birth story. My poor bestfriend was in labor for 18hrs, pushed for 2 hrs & ended up w/ a c-section. She was so beat up from all the labor for nothing. She said if she ever has another child a planned c-section is the way to go & I have to agree with her. Thats why when I found out this baby was also breech it really did not matter to me b/c I already had agreed on having a 2nd c-section. As for the recovery, that too was not so bad. Yea there was some pain the 1st week but by the 2nd week I was walking around the mall with the baby. Besides it's a good excuses to be taken care of by others. Also, the scar was very litlle & so low that you never see it. I honestly do not see why people are so scared of having a c-section. I know any surgery can be scary but if you have a good doctor and the support of love ones it's not bad at all. So all I can say is please do not be so nervous and good luck. If you have any more questions or comments please feel free to contact me! mplsmama -
Wednesday, 28 May Thanks so much for the info!!! I really need to hear some positive stories rather than people trying to talk me out of it at this point... so I really do appreciate it. I've gotten a few responses, too, so that's been helpful. I'm really getting to just be at peace with my decision. It still wasn't an easy decision, but I truly believe it's the best one for us and for our baby.
And how funny that our babies will likely be born on the same day!!!!! They're going to still confirm my c-section date, but 6/6 is the date we were shooting for! I'll keep ya posted! jcody777 -
Wednesday, 28 May EVERYTHING IS OKAY!!!! :)
He weighs 7lbs 3oz, Amniotic fluid is perfect, he is head down, just not engaged. The reason my belly was measruing 34 weeks is because of the way he was laying, head down, 1 shoulder to my lower left, and his feet to my upper right. Not straight. MOMMABEAR987 -

Tuesday, 27 May Thanks for the sweet comments! Every is commenting on how I don't look like I just gave birth! I was lucky to be able to take a shower right before my labor really started, and I put my makeup on and tried to fix my hair. Then my labor went so smoothly that I never broke a sweat, and he just simply SLID down the birth canal and stopped right as his lil' head crowned. I had to hold him in and with one little push he was out. I still can't believe how it all happened. I wasn't expecting that. It is a little scary to think that if my doctor wasn't right across the hall I would have been delivered by my husband, my mother, or a nurse who just HAPPENED to be in the room!!! I'm all for easy labors and not much pushing, but my experience could have been pretty scary! The cord was wrapped TIGHTLY around his neck, so I thank GOD that the doctor was there to quickly unravel it and clamp the cord. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! It's been wonderful having this site to keep up with everyone! Keep in touch! jcody777 -

Tuesday, 27 May Thanks for the words of incouragement!! :) I don't know how he became transverse... But I think he is transverse, with his head downwards, but I will know more this afternoon.
You know I have been mentally preparing myself for a c-section since he was breech early on!
It is good that you are only 1 fingertip dialated, I'll bet you make it to the 6th with no problems!!
