Hi! Glad to hear you are doing well. I've been great! My labor & delivery couldn't have gone any better and Caden is such a good baby! I was prepared for the worst because my first was SOOO good. I didn't think I could be lucky enough to have two good babies. But, I was so wrong! Caden was 6.11 at birth and is now right at 11 lbs. He is six weeks old today.

So, is it everything you thought it would be? I hope you are enjoying motherhood. Has he smiled at you yet??? That is such a wonderful feeling. Up until they do you really start to wonder...Does my baby even like me??? It's a rough few weeks in the beginning, but once they smile at you those worries melt away and it rejuvenates you!

I don't get on much anymore. Now with two boys in tow, I just don't have the time that I used to! I hadn't checked my emails in 2 weeks! I will upload more pics later this week. Keep me updated on you and your little one. Take care!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! He is beautiful! and so tiny too! Is it not the most wonderful thing in the whole world!!! Yes it is painful and difficult when you get home (with recovering from the c-section); however, I would do it all again for my little one! YEAH! way to go "mom"!

I hope everything went well!! I went in on Monday not feeling good and they sent me to L&D and delivered him right away - I had high blood pressure and was dizzy and naseaus. I put a couple pics on my profile. Update me when you get back home with your bundle! I can't believe they ae finally here! Now that he's here I can't imagine life without him!! He is such a good baby! Our first night home he slept great!! He doesn't even cry!! He's an angel!! Such a difference from my daughter!! Recovery is great! I feel totally back to normal - just mild discomfort after laying in bed all night!! I'm so happy its over!! Let me know how everhing went for you!!! Congrats!!

I wouldn't take anything before your c-section, just to be on the safe side! I would take a bath before you go to bed and just TRY to relax. I was the same way with my first c-section...it almost made me sick to my stomach! I actually slept pretty good considering. It's such a weird feeling setting your alarm to wake up and have a baby! Good luck with everything :)

I'm having a c-section on the 27th!! I'm so excited!!!

It's so hard for me too when I try to get up from bed to go to the bathroom! I'm literally hunched over like an old person because my feet are so swollen and the baby feels like he's going to fall out any minute (horrible pressure in that area). It would be nice to have had him already as I am getting even more miserable. Just like you, any time I have energy, I end up doing too much and then regret it immediately! So then I feel lazy and keep thinking about all of the things that I still need to do. Family is coming into town this weekend for the holiday and for my section next Tuesday. Went for my last U/S this morning. He's gotten even more huge (if that's possible). The OB said that he's minimum 9lbs and that he's so big they couldn't fit all of him on the U/S screen at one time - she said she wouldn't be surprised that if I went until 5/27 that he'd be close to 10lbs (and my due date isn't until 6/5). Why can't they just do my section now?! I don't think my skin can stretch any further at this point...then my MW was like "oh, yes it can!" Thanks a lot for that - I don't need to wake up tomorrow with stretch marks! I'm still hoping that maybe I'll go early? Keep your fingers crossed. Keep me posted on your progress...take care and I hope to hear from you soon!

No baby yet! I can't believe it either. My doctor had me CONVINCED I wouldn't carry past 34 weeks and here I am one day away from being full term (37 weeks). I'm happy though. Tonight is a full moon, and my family is starting to place bets! I think we've all been so prepared to go any day for the last few weeks that NONE of us can imagine going all the way to 40 weeks. Because I've had steroid injections for his lungs and they are concerned about fluid in his kidneys, I don't think she will let me get past 39, but I'm starting to think I'll be pregnant forever! I have contractions ALL THE TIME, but after a few hours they stop and I'm not going to the hospital until I can't smile or talk during them. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! I'll keep you posted and you do the same!

sierratoad - Monday, 19 May
It looks to me like wednesday is your big day! Good luck!!! It is such an amazing experience...and worth the bed rest and discomfort!!! All of my discomforts (preeclampsia, sinuses, diabetes) disappeared! Now comes just the healing!!! Let me know how you do and post pictures!!!!

AngiS - Monday, 19 May
What a coincidence that we're both getting the "Painbuster"! I had such a good experience with my first c-section that it is making me a little anxious to try something else, but we'll see. I have the opposite problem that you have - morphine works for me, but demerol does nothing except make me feel ickky (and still in pain). Since I'm not having my surgery until 5/27, let me know how the ON-Q works for you (obviously, if you have the time!). I can't sleep either, but I think it's more because I have to pee 10 times a night (even with stopping liquids at 7pm)! I just wish he was here already because these last weeks have been really horrible for me (nothing like with my daughter). I can't wait to meet him, but I'd really love my body back at this point! I'm so excited for you and will keep you and your baby in my prayers - keep me posted if you're not too busy. Have a great night!

I have slept better ever since i bought a pregnancy pillow 6 weeks ago,but i'm getting really anxious now! My mom got here today so its officially "real" I finally packed my bag and last night cleaned out EVERY drawer in every desk/nightstand etc. Funny how our minds work!!!! The one day that my 3 yr old sleeps past 7 am i am wide awake!! So im thinking that these last couple nights are gona be restless!!! Good luck! Its soooo soon! Wow! Yey for us!!!! Good luck!!

Hi -
I just read your post about your c-section next week. Congrats! I wish I was having mine then, but no such luck! I have to wait until 5/27, but no one seems to think I'll go that long. I've already been to L & D twice this past week with regular contractions so maybe it will be sooner! The reason I was writing was to let you know that with my first section, I asked for morphine after surgery (instead of demerol or darvocet) and although I was a little stiff, I was not in horrible pain at all. I then went to 800mg Motrin a day and a half later for about a week and I was fine (just make sure to overlap your meds a little). Easy recovery, no problems. This time around, my doctor is using something called ON-Q Painbuster which is a catheter that is inserted into your incision site and provides automatic pain relief only to the surgical site (for about five days). NO narcotic side effects for you or your baby. My OB has been using it for just a short time, but with great success so that might be an option for you for pain relief. They gave me a pamphlet on it so if you have any questions about it, the website is www.askyoursurgeon.com. My friend had demerol after her section and was in a lot of pain, but once they switched her over to morphine, she was great so just remember to get the strong stuff immediately after your surgery! I just wanted to pass on what worked for me - - hope the info helps! Take care and I'll keep you and your baby in my prayers...

Im scheduled for Wed morning too!! 10am! I can't wait... this is my 2nd - is this your 1st? Let me know if you have any questions - my mom had 2 and she told me exactly what to expect on the chance i would have one... i did and it helped SOOOO much being prepared and somewhat knowing what to expect!! Good luck! Can you believe we get our babies in less than 5 days!!!!

Thanks for the info. It's driving me crazy because it's the only pain I can't put a title on! I don't see my doctor until Wednesday, and I just need to know something I could do to help it, but maybe there isn't, if it's nerve damage due to the uterus.

Thanks girly!!!

I got a TON of blankets too! And not even the really useful ones (receiving blankets), they were the fancy ones that SUMMER babies NEVER use!!! I think it's hilarious that people have addictions to buying baby blankets as shower gifts. I returned almost ALL of them and got the things I really needed. I was lucky that I didn't need any of the big stuff this time around. We keep everything from my first son and it is all in EXCELLENT condition. Have fun shopping online today!

bobbette89 - Monday, 5 May

not much longer to go,,,
wishing you many blessings and congrats!!!!
